Wow! You were at my neighbors house, the first garden you toured with the terraces...and no I never, ever get sick of seeing the gorgeous hydrangeas in my own garden or my neighbors stunning gardens and I see them every single day as I live here!
@@ChicagoGardener I wish!!! Her garden is stunning too. But no, I live 4 houses away and I started my garden from a complete blank slate 2 years ago so I have a long way to go to keep up with my neighbors:)
The hydrangeas here in MA are absolutely amazing this year. I believe they are saying it is due to the mild winter and the amount of rainfall we have been getting. I have lived here since 1979 and this has been by far the best hydrangeas color I have ever seen! And we ❤️ ❤❤ Mirabeau Inn & Spa!!!
I'm just outside Boston and mine are incredible this year too. At first I thought it was my amazing gardening skills then I realized that all of the hydrangeas in my town were blooming just as much :) I don't usually wrap mine in the winter but if that would give me these results every year I might start.
@@ChicagoGardener Well - now I AM EXTRA JEALOUS! But trust me... I would be pretty Star-Struck to meet you too! (Considering you are so 'close' - I'm in the IL as well.)
I live in northern MA so nowhere near the Cape, but it's been a banner year for hydrangeas and bunnies. Last year was a rotten year for hydrangeas. The hydrangeas are so outstanding this year that there's been segments on the local tv news about the hydrangeas so you picked the right year to come to MA. Oh, and the Chatham Bars Inn was featured in one of the news segments for their garden.
Definitely but it on the list! I would also plan a couple days in Martha’s Vinyard. We only spent a few hours there and I could have stayed much longer.
Shasta Daisies are my absolute favorite flower. I have several in my little courtyard garden. I’m sure I’ll get more next year. My garden is only two years old, I’m trying to pace myself 😊
Oh my goodness - how beautiful! You definitely could pull off the flower tower with a green stalk. I would just recommend putting the tower on a lift of some sort so the water can drain and not puddle and sit right on your deck. I would also put it in a more fortified part of the deck because they are heavy.
Lucky you! Thank you for letting us visit it vicariously! I’ve been trying to dry hydrangeas and they have either “flopped” or “shriveled”. Do you have any suggestions regarding how to dry hydrangeas?
The Willows are Dappled Willows. I have 15 in my yard. Great privacy coverage in the spring, summer, and fall. I let mine grow about 6.5 feet tall. Zone 7(A)
Oo I just put one of those dappled willows in my garden this year! the foliage comes out pink! Its really pretty. I think you could probably do this in a container, but apparently they do require a lot of water, so thats the only thing that might be difficult
@@ChicagoGardener I do not blame you! I think my head would just be in a daze the whole time. Its all so beautiful! Some of the hydrangeas dont even have leaves showing with how many gigantic blooms they have. so crazy lol
The hydrangeas were stunning! I really enjoyed this. I used to have Annabelle’s in my last home and really missed them. So I had 5 installed last year and all but 1 died. I replaced those this year and my original one died as well as one of the new ones. It’s frustrating. Don’t know what I am doing wrong. Not sure if It’s the way they were planted (not be me) or the care (all me!🙋🏻♀️) I may replace them next year with a different variety
Glad you enjoyed Massachusetts! You visited during our heatwave so kudos to you for surviving lol. Your videos gave me great ideas and places to check out - I'm closer to the greater Boston area. Plymouth and Cape are like another state to me especially with summertime traffic. RE shasta daisies - please be careful with it because it is labelled in some states as invasive, it is an aggressive grower. If you are looking for white flowers may i suggest natives like yarrow or fleabane or erigeron or even chamomile (herb)? Better and safer for biodiversity. Your state's agricultural and nature department will have more information what they recommend for your geographic area and natute and wildlife preserves.

Hydrangea paradise. Thank you very much for taking us there 🌸💕
It was amazing and now has made me less impressed with hydrangeas around Chicago 🤣
Such a wonderful tour! Thank you for taking us along.
Of course! I’m so glad to get to share them.
Just now watching this video, hard to pick a favorite there all stunning.
It really was hydrangea heaven!
Omg the hydrangeas 😍. I will have this vlog on replay in Winter. Thanks for taking us along 😊
Omg yes! I always go through old photos and videos to get through winter.
Beautiful as usual.

I just saw it on the Chicago news last night too! I’m so glad this was the year we decided to go.
It is an outstanding hydrangea year. I only have one, and it’s the first time in many years that blooms showed up. They’re huge Electric blue/purple!
Truly amazing
Thank you!!
I'm speechless . Amazing, amazing , just pure Beauty. 😍😍😍👌 On my bucket for a trip to the USA. Thank you for sharing. From Austria 😊.

Let’s go!!!
Your comment about belly flopping into the hydrangeas 😅🤣😂 Thanks for taking us along 🥰

The front porch at 11:15 at the 3rd garden is mesmerizing ❤
That is where I’d be all day if that was my place!

That’s great advice! I wondered how heavy they were when full.

Oh and the name of it is Variegated Japanese Willow - Hakuro Nishiki
Thank you!! It was so hot and I was seeing so many plants that as soon as the landscaper told me what it was it immediately left my brain 😂

It was so hard not to dive into the hydrangeas 😂
How did I know about this???
They have it every year!
I thought those hydrangeas were supposed to be for shade? They seem to be growing in full son
They are able to do so many things with hydrangeas here that I could never 😆
You keep saying "we" but I see only you!
Not everyone likes being on camera 😆
