    Putting face mites ahead of tardigrades has to be some kind of blasphemy!

    Your channel has been a bright spot in my life throughout this last year. Keep 'em coming! I'd love to see planaria if you happen to pick them up in one of your water samples. They were always a favourite in my biology classes.

    Happy new year. Very fascinating, but out of all the different microscopic specimens you have shown us here, the most intriguing for me is the white blood cell.

    • @Microbehunter
      @Microbehunter  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spiky red blood cells (Acanthocytes). This can happen because the blood on the slide starts to dry up and the cells lose water.

    TY and Happy Healthy New Year. When I was younger I was on a course to be similar to you, but my mother convinced my father that this is not becoming for a young lady. Oh well, next life I will donate my life to working in a lab.

    I have a question, will i be able to find a tardigrade from the mosses of my garden?...because i checked it and there was no tardigrade and not just that, there wasnt anything living.
    And also, why not all ponds contain paramecium, i have seen paramecia once but it was from my sink, and ive been trying to observe it again but couldnt find it.

    • @Microbehunter
      @Microbehunter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Make the moss moist for a day. tardigrades if present need some time. Put some sediment from the pond under the microscope and not only water. You might not have found any paramecia due to the low concentration. You also might add some food to enrich them.

    What power microscope do I need to be a microbe hunter?

  • @kelvincannon3675

    @MicrobeHunter “is a microscope necessary to see “ticks?”
    I’ve seen fleas, but I’ve never seen a tick!

    • @Microbehunter
      @Microbehunter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, a microscope is not necessary. They are about 1-2 mm in length, and especially when they have sucked blood they can swell up quite a bit.

    Microbe hunter I want to know if you could make a binocular head for your microscope because I want a binocular head on my microscope but its hard to find it on the internet so I want to know if you could make a binocular head for your microscope.

    • @Microbehunter
      @Microbehunter  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally not possible, because you need prisms etc. It might be cheaper even to buy a new microscope than to get the parts and machines to make one. Experienced people are able to make almost anything, but it simply might not be worth it. If you have a 3D printer, then you can also 3D print a microscope.

    Hi i really want to be a biologist can you pls give me some advice.

    • @Microbehunter
      @Microbehunter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You first finish school and focus on that first. Then you go to a university or college where you can study biology. You then also have to decide which area of biology you want to study (animals, plants, microorganisms, ecology etc.). For now, reading things about science and watching science videos is something that you can do, but it is important to focus on school now, if you still go to school.
