      So, he shows you where the regs are, but, instead of reading the ones on bass real quick and stopping him in his tracks, you follow him. If they say, "I need your DL and your fishing license", you ARE getting a ticket. If your FL is in the car you'll hear, "let's take a walk", "I'll walk with you", in this case.😂 learn the regs, it gives you a better chance with a warden like this. Bodily contact is negated with waders. That sharing fish line is BS. The regs say "in your posession" in any state. He ran that on you because you had just admitted to being a lifelong fisherman that didn't know the regs. My son thought he finally beat me at golf, until I pulled out the rules and added up his penalties😂😂😂JS learn the rules TIGHT LINES!!!!

      What does supporting law enforcement get you? They are not your friends. They generate revenue for the state, and they exist to control you that’s it. The laws are meant to be confusing to trap you, and provide reason for them to write you up, and take your money and freedoms.

    I completely agree that this nut went over and above his job.
    I am 82 years old and have enjoyed fishing for years and have never been subjected to such uncalled for abuse of power and that is exactly what that was.
    I wonder if that guy ever thought that a young man that is fishing is not out doing drugs or getting into trouble!

      They don’t have to know the laws they enforce they just have to believe they know the law. Then it is up to the courts and the individual to figure out who’s right and who’s wrong. If the officer is wrong then the case gets thrown out and nothing happens to the officer that created the inconvenience. Where I live most the wardens cases get thrown out because they write violations hoping anything sticks.

    That's some jacked up law if you give a fish away. The person in possession is the one that it goes against their bag limit. If we are in a boat we can put all our fish together and combined we can't be over the limit, and I might be the one to catch them all.

    • @wdtaut5650
      @wdtaut5650 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Depends on the state. Where I live, you can't combine limits. If the limit is 10 and your buddy keeps 9, that does not allow you to keep 11.
      Giving fish away is a kind of double jeopardy. The fish you give away count toward your limit and the limit of the person who now has the fish. Of course, the cop has to see you give them away, or you have to be stupid enough to tell the cop you gave them away, or the person who got them from you rats you out. Of course, if you don't have any in your possession, it's pretty hard to prove you kept too many.

    • @daoyang7050
      @daoyang7050 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's incorrect, at least in Wisconsin, where I'm from. Whoever catches the fish is to whom the catch counts for in regards to their daily limit. There is also a possession limit that is different.

    Wonderful seeing a father and son fishing video. Law enforcement bluffs a lot for a variety of reasons. They get complaints and they have to follow up on them. Decades ago I parked in a shady public parking space to wait for someone. The parking spot was near a playground. A mother called a city cop and he ordered me out or else. I couldn't waste time playing his game so I moved. This type of thing probably happens hundreds times a day. I figure why make a big deal out of it. Besides, some cops are power hungry nut cases. Those types are rare and the other cops don't even like them.

    Tons of fun! It did look to me that the fish were small, and should have been thrown back. Those are too small in my state. Length Limit:

      They were spotted bass. Red eyes tongue patch the whole 9 yards. Spotted bass in the state of ga have no minimum length except for lake Lanier where they have to be 14 inches minimum. The spots hybridize with our native shoal bass which is a big problem in our streams and rivers. We don’t have any small mouth bass any where near us which he referred too. Thanks for watching

    Along with the standard regs, I will have a copy of any special rules for that specific area.

    Starrs mill. I watched this because I recognized that. Yes it is Line creek . I googled Starrs mill fishing, and yes it states no body contact with the water. Lake Kedron , Peachtree, and Horton , McIntosh fall under said rules. I guess if you went down hwy 85 to Coweta(bridge at Coweta , Fayette line), it does matter because you can swim or get in the water at line creek nature reserve or def Lake Peachtree, which I have personally seen as I live off that lake. It's EXTREMELY hypocritical for them to say it's ok in this part of line creek but not here. He seems to back pedal on lengths , amount of fish you can take. The most informative piece is about if you give fish away to folks asking for them. Hence I fish for fun , throw back . This cement that because they , Johnny law , will hold you to that..They , the receiver, could say you gave them ALL the fish..

    Forgive me for coming out of harsh like that. The thing is, as a grown man, you're teaching your son. on how to respond to future encounters with law enforcement of any kind. You may feel that he was wrong or that he was trying to look for something to hold against you. Still, if you sit back and listen to the video and really critique it, you'll see that he was doing everything he could not to charge you, telling you to leave for 24 hours was an option he had so that he didn't have to site you. I don't think he was too harsh. I don't know how much to find would have been, but let's say the fine was $200, in 24 hours when you come back you still will have $200 in your pocket and you can fish all you want, like the gentleman said in the comment below. I respect your son and how he looks up to you. You can tell by the way he responded to you that he has the utmost respect for you. He loves you just that much. So again I'm sorry for coming off harsh but I think we need to start realizing we're teaching our young future generation. It might feel strange or upset you, but no matter how basic the law may seem, we need to obey it. I hope you two do come back and make more videos. I enjoy them. Thanks.

    Here is my issue with your ending
    1. You are complaining about not getting a citation because you broke a law. He gave you the option ti just leave.
    2. He educated you about giving away fish still counts as your limits.
    3. Technically you being in the water and catching those fish was against the laws in that spillway. Which means you used an illegal method catching those fish....ie: in the water.
    4. You say you were doing things by the book....yet you were in the water.
    I do agree that it wasnt a big deal. But you are playing victim and yet you broke a law/rule. Then he educated you about the laws of giving away fish.

    If you’re not supposed to be in the water all the fish you caught while in the water and gave away were illegal. Another thing I thought I noticed was you said if you give away a fish and it was illegal then it would also be your responsibility. I would think that would be obvious.

    • @FishHookedFishing
      @FishHookedFishing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If that were true he would have given me a ticket for all the fish. Ga law restricted him from that. It’s a pretty far reaching obscure county rule not law that I couldn’t be in the water. That I very seriously doubt would hold up in court since it we have a right to fish all navigable waters in ga. You also can legally fish from a kayak there and honestly that’s not much different than being in the water. It’s not obviously your responsibility when you give anything away. In good faith you can give away a fish to someone who you think needs it but what if that person is already over the limit for that day. They could say you gave them all the fish so they don’t get in trouble. Obviously we’re not out here to give away illegal fish and record ourselves doing that. The fish we gave away were spotted bass and brim. There are no length limits on spotted bass except for lake Lanier they have to be 14” long. No size limits on brim you can keep up to 50 in the state of ga fishing regulations. I know to the average person who don’t fish it appears the warden was educating me however to those of us who fish regularly you realize that the warden himself had very little knowledge of the regulations the fish species in our area and it’s all on camera. Thanks for watching

    Most Game Wardens who come across as “bullish” is because of the reaction they’re receiving in dealing with the constituents. As a career Game Warden, it continually amazed me at how many people managed to talk their way from a verbal warning into a trip to jail because they thought they knew the law better than I did…I always tried to be as polite and pleasant as I could, but some people would just have to ruin my day.

If someone sees you that is. When it comes to hunting or fishing, the laws are confusing and just plain dumb. They do that on purpose.

    • @FishHookedFishing
      @FishHookedFishing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea after we went through the whole spill about limits and sizes that really didn’t have anything to do with our fishing that day. He decided to make us leave because I had been in the water. There is a sign there not anywhere near the water that says you must fish from the bank. Not a ga law but a county rule specific to that park apparently. However my son never got into the water or did anything wrong and he was still asked to leave.🤷‍♂️ I don’t know where you live but it’s getting tough out here in middle ga.😂
