THE SIDE NOTE - Lots of great cars of teens out there...it was kind of tough to narrow them down. Which one do you think makes the most sense for teens?
I think the question needs to include price, age of vehicle, purpose, etc. Like asking what's the best job for a teen? Impossible to answer usefully without context.
When I was a teen, my first car was a twenty-three year old Studebaker Commander. Had a V8 in it. Three-on-the-tree, overdrive, and nobody could steal it because the starter button was under the clutch pedal. The high-tech electronics consisted of a tube-type AM radio and the advanced safety system was a hill-holder that kept hydraulic pressure in the brake system 'til you let up on the clutch.
Just gave myself what I consider a fine first car for a teen as well as an ideal one for a senior driver: Subaru Crosstrek with the six-speed.
Mercury Grand Marquis. Despite its immense size, it’s roomy and comfortable and has a solid V8 engine that will last a long time. Plus parts are still available even though they discontinued the Grand Marquis back in 2011. It was Mercury’s best selling car with over 2 million examples made.
For me, a 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis, a 2011 Lincoln Town Car, Mercury Milan, 2020 Chevrolet Impala, Toyota Avalon, Ford Taurus, Buick Encore, Buick Regal, Buick Verano, or Toyota 4Runner works nicely for teens. Yes, the Grand Marquis and Town Car are Star Destroyers on wheels, but they are solid and roomy and long lasting.
It never ceases to amaze me the disparity between countries as all listed vehicle's in this video are very expensive in Mexico and would never be affordable by either teens or their parents to give, these are options for people earning medium to high salaries that had been working for 7-10 years, and even with that, most of the time a loan is required to acquire these. E.g the Ford Maverick in Mx starts at 35k dlls and the average monthly income for a college graduate is $400 dlls a month, while for an experienced employee (3-5 years) migth be $1000 dlls a month, so you see how these are no option for a teenager or a parent who most likely is still paying a loan month by month to pay up their own family cars. I don't mean to be whiny, just like as awareness for people that might think these are really affordable cars or that they suck. P.s. the mini Cooper in Mexico is kind of a luxury car that might go up to $40k-50k so I won't ever see an average teenager driving one. Kind regards!
Yes these prices are stated in the U.S. like $20,000 isn’t a lot here for a car, usually new cars from brands have been hitting $35,000
@@kfifxuc1833 for a mexican young adult, not even a teen, I would consider as an affordable range something from $5-10k, obviously it would not be a new car, but usually that's the case
Mexico has quite a few economy cars that the US and Canada don’t have. Chevrolet Aveo, Onyx, and Cavalier. Hyundai Grand i10. Dodge Attitude. GAC. FAW. Toyota Yaris. Honda City. Ford Figo. Mazda2. Nissan March. Nissan Versa.
@@razvandobos9759 I know that, I wasn't trying to say that we mexicans can't afford any car, just saying those cars in the list are definitely not and option for the common teenager, not even for most people. I found it interesting.
