Mitch, I watched both your AT and CDT thru hike vlogs before completing both said trails. Excited to watch this vlog before starting my PCT hike on April 15th! Thanks.
Great resolution on the camera shots. The scenery is awesome so I can see why it might be really hard to try and shorten up the video lengths. It's fantastic to be able to join you on this second journey. I really enjoyed watching both Skittles' and your videos on the AT thru hike and am sure that I, and everyone watching, will enjoy this adventure as well. Thanks again for taking us for the ride. Hope the knee thing doesn't plague you. Hike on, man!
The rain you had on the first two days was simply a reminder not to forget your through hiker roots lol. Hope the knee doesnt give you too many issues. Great first video, looking forward to many more. Have fun out there and hike safe.
John Danziger haha I had just hoped that I got rained on enough for a life time on the AT last year. But honestly the rain wasn't too bad. Knee feeling much better thanks!
Great to see you on the trail, Mitch. I'm looking forward to your adventures. The PCT is so different from the AT. No more green tunnel -- the views and the mountains are so different. Sunscreen and shade is important, along with learning about aloe. I've had knee pain like you described, especially when doing big miles. One thing that helped me was to take shorter steps and up my tempo a little bit. It helped me, especially when carrying heavier packs. You're doing great!
Bryce Ryan in just 100 miles I have seen the amazing difference in the two trails thus far. It sure is going to be awesome. My knee is feeling much better thankfully
Yeah, I can see some sun burn around your neck already. Knee injuries won't kill you, but sunburns that turn cancerous can. Wear lots of sunscreen, please!
Triple Crown thru hiker Joe Brewer had an injury to his foot for all 3 trails that laid him up for a week or so. It is so great to see you out on the trail again especially the PCT. I think you lucked out getting a 40 degree start. IMHO it's better than 100 degrees. Your new camera is fantastic. The sound is excellent.
Solo Over 50 joe brewer has some awesome videos. It was unfortunate that I had the same injury this year but it cleared up in no time. Feeling great and really glad to be out here.
I've always loved your videos and have never thought them too long. Shoot all the scenery you want and "ramble" away, this girl doesn't mind one bit! Diggin' the longer hair too! Hope your knee cooperates, keep us updated 🙂
Hi there again Dutch 😀 been waiting since you finished the AT to see the next installment 😀. Happy to hear your knee is doing better and that you took a little time to rest it. Smart!! Such incredible epic views 👍🏻😀. Thank you for sharing and SO. excited to see this journey! Be safe and hike on. 😀
Yeah, I saw those tents and instantly subscribed. I got a Lunar Solo arriving any day. It will be good to see how they hold up and feel like for you guys. Good price, light wieght. Mostly a dry safe place to sleep. Camera is giving great shots with nice audio also.
WOW! I've been fallowing you from the beginning and just wanted to come back and say how much your face has matured since this day! Also the awesome footage of an amazing trip!
if you can get your hands on a foam roller (or even a tennis ball, log or a potato haha) you can roll out your muscles which might take some pressure and pain off your knee. I had knee pain got a foam roller and as soon as I got done rolling out my muscles the pain I'd been experiencing for weeks went away. saved me what I thought was an inevitable trip to a physical therapist.. focus on your i.t. band and anywhere in your thigh/hamstring that feels sore.. even your calves, shins and ankle area!!
Awesome video!! Really cool to see this trail. Very different from the AT. I've only seen a couple thru hike videos of the PCT. Bummer about the knee. I'm considerably older but am starting to also have issues from running. I can feel the tendon in my knee popping back and forth when I bend it. I think the solution is going to be one of those straps that goes under the knee to hold everything in place. Worth a try. My knee hurts like crazy starting out and then I don't feel it until I stop running. Then I have trouble all day, especially going down stairs. Keep it up!! Thanks for the videos. Hope you're having a great time. Happy hiking.
Hey Dutch - thanks for sharing your journey. I guess the AT has taught you some lessons. I can't count the number of times I've gone on a 7 - 10 day section hike and completely trashed my body pushing miles. I hope the knee rebounds soon. It looked pretty angry on Instagram. Cheers. - Evo
harrisevo hey Evo. Yeah I have slowed down a little bit and just letting my body adjust to the miles. Feeling really good now, including the knee. We'll see if that hold after the descent off Mt. San Jacinto...
Hey man it's awesome to see you out doing this this year. I wish you and clean skittle all the best. I never caught up with y'all in the AT but it was great watching your videos
NOTHIN!! hahaha i like this guy.. watched a bunch of your latest vids in a row had to come back and start at the beginning now you make a GREAT film !! long, and camera forward not too much selfie, super sharp, i love it thanks so much.. my big screen is loving this stuff// ps kinda funny we were camping in Mojave watching the storms from the mtns that weekend, looks like you got it worse than we did// sorry about your knee / it is frustrating - i guess its just getting used to the hike again.. anyway film as much as you want, you post it we'll watch it!!
Thank you for the positive comments! That was pretty bold of me to say it was "nothing" lol.. looking back, it was actually quite a bit more than that!
Great video bud hope the knee mends up for ya. Get some vitamin Ibuprofen going that way you can get some pain relief on the bag leg as well as your good leg you are probably relying on for now. I'm sure you'll be ok, looking forward to the rest of your trip.
IT Band (iliotibial band) is the most common cause of knee pain. Stretching and messaging should resolve this issue. Its recommended you continue with therapy throughout your hike.
Michael Nejdl I've heard of this and seen people suffering from it. But my injury is runners knee. The pain is in a different place. Luckily, it is feeling much better
That dork.....lmao, I don't think that dude made it....just watched your ending video. How the hell could you even step off on the trail with such a clown??
You are a little bit duck toed when you walk. From watching some of your other videos I’ve noticed, that causes the knee problems as it did for my dad and bro. Work on keeping feet straight when you walk and it will not happen as much if at all
Mitch, I watched both your AT and CDT thru hike vlogs before completing both said trails. Excited to watch this vlog before starting my PCT hike on April 15th! Thanks.
Thanks for the comment! I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed them! Congratulations and have fun on the PCT! Enjoy number 3!
20 minute videos are not too long. Splendid scenery, chipper narration, and a good cup of coffee. More!!
Ron Johnson haha thank you! At this rate, with all these beautiful views, I'll be at around that time for most of my videos
Looking forward to it. Carry on!

Roger thanks a lot man! It's definitely going to be tough to shorten them with the scenery I'm getting every minute.. we will see

Welcome to my backyard!
Beautiful videos doing the scenery justice.
Looking forward to more.
Keep your feet dry and hike on hiker!
Cant wait for that to one day be my backyard!

I never can seem to keep the length down, and my viewers always support that! Thank you so much
Good to see you back to hiking! I followed your AT hike and will follow this one. Good luck!
Major Mike thanks a lot!

I know a lot of folks who love their Lunar Solo! How is it working out for you so far?
WOW! I've been fallowing you from the beginning and just wanted to come back and say how much your face has matured since this day! Also the awesome footage of an amazing trip!
That was a very nice way of saying I look like a hobo! Haha I love it!

some amazing views there..Glad to see a video been wondering about you guys.
April H the views are stunning. And they just keep coming..

I have a friend (Chocolate Balls) just ahead of you. Great job filming. rooting for you.
Chris Bunow "Chocolate Balls"? lol I can't wait to hear that one. Thanks for the support
Do you have a "Trail Name" yet?
Chocolate Balls is at mile 549, but you might catch up to him if you don't take too many 0 days.
Sorry I am just now getting back to replying to everyone.. I met him at PCT days!
Any chance you will take the option of climbing Mt. Whitney?
I have heard it's an amazing climb w/ awesome views.
Steve McGuinness I would absolutely love to! Hopefully there isn't too much snow this year
Steve McGuinness I would absolutely love to! Hopefully there isn't too much snow this year
Mitch Lenington j
You guys are back!
The boys are back in town!
Try dosing on Aspirin for a couple days and see if the knee improves.
Thanks! I ate ibuprofen like it was candy for a few days and it feels much better
Also, if you eat fried chicken, eat the cartilage.
keep in mind snow on the knee is good ice it when you can
it could've been worse....like 100 + degrees
Very true.. As I learned on this hike, I hated the heat
the next awesome adventure ...
korling99 indeed...
Major improvement in video quality bud. stay safe!
Karl Rifenbark thanks!
Great video bud hope the knee mends up for ya. Get some vitamin Ibuprofen going that way you can get some pain relief on the bag leg as well as your good leg you are probably relying on for now. I'm sure you'll be ok, looking forward to the rest of your trip.
Zack Doughty thanks a lot. Knee feeling pretty solid now
really need to grab some sunscreen man...looking a bit red. take care of the knee, enjoying the views!
Mark Vincent oh yeah I got some thankfully. Foolish of me not to start with any. I got toasted pretty good

Hope your knee continues to feel better. Wishing you a great adventure.
It the problem w/ your high-knee or low-knee?
When your friend said 2680 mls was nothin, i laughed and inhaled a Frito and nearly died
HAHA this comment killed me! It might have been a bit much for me to say it was "nothing" whoops...
Start slow, low miles. Hard to do.
I found that out the hard way..
That dork.....lmao, I don't think that dude made it....just watched your ending video. How the hell could you even step off on the trail with such a clown??
JStompinado hahaha Clean Skittle? He's my best mate and yes he's a dork
dude put on some sunscreen
I was so bad about that on the entire hike...
You are a little bit duck toed when you walk. From watching some of your other videos I’ve noticed, that causes the knee problems as it did for my dad and bro. Work on keeping feet straight when you walk and it will not happen as much if at all
Griffin Trotter I'll watch that! Thanks!
Mitch Lenington one question too. How much did you spend on trail? With your zeros and food and all that Jazz
