Bonjour Dylane et comment allez vous! You discuss the pronunciation of E (/ə/ -- /a/) with example in a very pretty easy way. Merci beaucoup pour votre Lesson 20.
thank you very much, it sounds like the letter "E" is really similar to the sound of letter "O" but with rounded lips, is it not? Do You/someone agree that the sounds of the letter "e" and "o" are similar? or is it just me?
No you are not totally wrong. The O comes from the back of the mouth,, _______O But the E comes from the middle of the mouth |__E The pronunciation of them is very close but a little bit different, keep practicing I am sure you will get there 👏
I normally learn and understand things by applying logic. Malheureusement , Il n'ya absolument aucune logique dans la prononciation d'un francais. !!!! C'est très difficile!!
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane that what I thought! Just ve came across a French video where they say je is the same as eu (like in game) so I was like hein?? 😂and double checked it with you))
One thing you do really well is giving an example of what happens if you DO pronounce the e, as in "livre." That contrast is very helpful.
Trying my best 😉

They are not the same, you should work on your listening practice, it's probably why they sound the same :0
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane merci beaucoup
I would love for you to pronounce the word Sauterelle
I can do a pronunciation story on my Instagram after the grammar course ;)

Sushant i just did a video about this a couple of weeks ago, go check out my page :)
Is there a rule to when not to pronounce the “e” in the middle of the word?
In short words only, Je - Que - De - Le - Me - Se - Ce - etc :)
Madame.
I want to know why you show letter upside down.
And does Livre is masculine or feminine ?
That's the IPA symbol 😉 Livre is masculine = Un livre
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Merci.
Halo teacher, what about merci? Why not read "merci" but like "mérci"? I mean the e is clear. Thank you
mèrci ;)
Ah le e muet 😅 est-ce qu’il y a un réglé pour le e muet dans le mot? Merci beaucoup pour votre vidéos ♥️♥️
Malheureusement non 😕 Dans le doute, je conseille toujours de le prononcer et cela viendra naturellement 😉
I love you so much
❤️
How about Angleterre, is it same?
Angleterre, the E is pronounced. The first E is E, the second one is È 🙂
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Ohh Okay! Merci
oh I should add that the last one is silent :)
Please ma i have been following your videos, i find this very 😢 difficult to pronounce
Je --- is the e equivalent to english-french O
There is no equivalent for E in English :/
I've definitely been saying boulangerie wrong. Allemange catches me out too.
😅
Is there a rule to know when e is silent in the middle of the word?
Not really Lauren, but I added a video outside of the course about the most common words. The thumbnail is ACHETER vs ACHETER :)
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Thanks! I'll give that a listen now!
but e has another pronunciation which is the same as ai or è, for example, the first e in elle
That's in the vidéo about è ;)
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane thanks
💚👏👍👍
😍
I swear I'm hearing the second "ai" faisais and faisaient closer to sounding like an "eh"...
In this video?
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Yeah, at 5:17 and 5:43. Maybe just listening more words I'll get used to the sound though.
Pourriez-vous vous déguiser en elfe pour une vidéo de Noël ?
ahah maybe next year 😉
I normally learn and understand things by applying logic. Malheureusement , Il n'ya absolument aucune logique dans la prononciation d'un francais. !!!! C'est très difficile!!
Mike je confirme que le E ne suit aucune logique 😕 Les autres lettres et sons ont un peu plus de logique je pense 😉

Merci :)
Salut! Question:) do I get it right « e » in « je » is the same sound as « eu » in « jeu » and « e » in « cheval » is the same as « eu » in « peur »?
So je and peur have different sounds but it's very very close. I can barely hear the difference sometimes. Jeu is another sound ;)
