Great compilation, thank you. I have a mild objection to #3 because I often observed (in my 58 years of life) that high-IQ people had difficult time when surrounded by idiots, and reacted undiplomatically to them or failed to keep peace in such environmnent. Thus, would you make a list/compilation of what high-IQ people can't tolerate?
Of course these kind of people motivate and inspire themselves, they read and understand the emotions of another one,so they find a wise solution to support and always their thinking is out of the box!!!
I call tosh. Intelligence has to be intelligence of something, be it music, narratives or acrostics. It is not like an all-purpose luminosity that penetrates into the dark corners of anything and everything. "Society should not judge anyone with unilateral standards - everyone has different learning levels, hopes, talents, and dreams and we should respect that. " - Kim Unh-Yong (IQ of 200+)
@@brucefleming208 Oh you got me there. 😂 Bending the narrative to fit your own personal agenda and adding in a backhanded insult. You should check out the video on emotional intelligence.
I see a problem with number 1. Highly intelligent people will see how their personality changes all the time and will also try to change it for the better all the time. Humans are capable of changing almost everything about themselves and highly intelligent people are very aware of that fact. They might also always think about the things they do and how they act, so I believe a very intelligent person might actually not have a very strong personality because they try to create the very best version of themselves which they might never really find.
That's one type of intelligence, but I can relate well to it, and I can remember 5 times the words the average man can, read people like books, and solve problems in really innovative ways. Like me, I believe many other highly intelligent people can fit with pretty much no effort, and I also have very high self control. My personality develops automatically, I don't struggle with choosing to be someone. (I might not be the smartest person in the world, but yet I have 132+ iq, scored top score on EQ test. As mentioned, there are different traits that represents different sorts of intelligence.
It changes according to experiences. An intelligent person absorbs life and learns immediately from mistakes they have made. These mistakes include bad behaviours or unethical decisions. Even feelings can be controlled. Being happy and being kind does not come naturally but they can be acquired through every day practice. Staying calm and collected during an argument also comes with practice. So an intelligent person will notice their personality has changed and will continue to change as time comes and other new experiences come to their lives. My IQ is 135 but have never and will never claim to be a genius because its not that high. But I notice you are very smart for taking note of this.
lol no. Think of it as your gait. You can try and change it but there are certain things that will impact your gait that you can't change. You may think you're changing your gait/personality but it's still very clear who you are. You may be thinking of changing your behavior rather than personality.
you guys have to acknowledge the fact that our minds work in different ways and these might be just resemblances, not the fact or the must-have traits of highly intelligent people so you can have arguments about some of them. and I like the fact that most people watch this then being totally related. as if in this world there are so many intelligent people
There are obvious intelligent people in this world, but born place and social influence our born-mind to be as intelligent-able we could. I lived in a developing country, at young age I spend most of the times reading books produced by government. In fact, our brain actually have consumed the knowledges that might not relate to the social world. As internet invented, I think I am born for that. I learn almost everything on TH-cam and Google since the internet was born.
4:13 I have an extremely empty minimal work space that is also a super nice private work space for scientists but small amounts of organic mess in my personal work spaces but mostly empty cabinets & closets I do not sit I stand or lay down but I sit when working with others studying my mother was a hoarder so I cannot have to much piles of crap or piles stuff around otherwise it gives me anxiety anxiety I generally never have even in very stressful situations I am okay with a little work mess but I prefer very clinically minimal empty spaces with amazing art & functional objects & items from nature & scientific tools & computers
These were good. I don’t know if I am intelligent but I am left handed, I write humor, I see patterns. Even though I am not working I am teaching myself Koine Greek. There was a time when I called my sister and told her I disagreed with myself about something and needed to talk it out.
Many of these things ring true, but being exceptionally intelligent creates its own serious problems in terms of fitting into our current global society, which values mediocrity and conformity. Exceptionally intelligent people tend to be marginalized by their peers because they are attempting to communicate on a more philosophical, big-picture level that average people struggle to see. They get bullied because others are jealous of their intellect. They run into huge difficulties in the workplace when they question arbitrary, controlling, stagnating rules and norms. There's a reason why historically, a huge number of exceptionally gifted people either struggled with substance abuse or died at an early age, or both. Being able to see and understand the gestalt when most people around you are only looking at things on a two-dimensional, superficial level leaves you feeling profoundly alone and frustrated. The only solution is to seek out others like yourself. The internet has made this easier, but life is still no cakewalk, especially when you hold yourself to a high standard because you're always pushing for the next challenge. To be profoundly intelligent is to be profoundly lonely, much of the time.
Except that you probably have a different definition of intelligence, as emotional intelligence is one of many kinds of intelligence. A strong sense of self is a big factor, as it is one's ability to understand your own capabillities, strengths, and weaknesses.
@@Gigantosaur I'm the complete opposite. I really don't understand who I really am. Though I wouldn't be surprised to know that I'm not highly intelligent. Because I'm not... I'm already aware of that. So I must ask, what can I do to somewhat improve my intelligence. I don't mean how to be more intelligent. I mean what methods and habits should I have to improve my intellectual performance. I have ADHD which affects memory and the ability to focus on something. So I can't really rely on those things. Which is why I'm asking for habits and methods.
I always enjoy these types of videos, I'm left handed and a hip hop artist who is very competitive, I used to compete in sports and chess tournaments! I'm not perfect, but I've always felt different from the usual crowd all my life.
I am different to other people, I think for myself. Carefully consider my opinions and reasoning. I just can’t resonate with people and feel awkward because it would take too long to explain my position. Today it’s 30 second sound bites. Ah well, nobody is going to miss me, it really doesn’t matter anyway.
I almost have them all!! I use my left hand frequently but not when writing though… I mostly feel I’m weird somehow and some people even think am crazy !! But I don’t give a damn!
I have observed that the few people I knew who had high IQs and were chessmasters, needed help just getting through the day with normal activities. Their understanding of social interaction was minimal and frustrations ran high. It makes me wonder what they actually contributed to society beyond mastering a chess game and finishing a crossword puzzle in ten minutes.
10:34 - If there is any connection with it, I think it is mainly because objects, everyday environments and expectations of their use created by people are for the most common needs. Since most people are right-handed, most of these will be designed to provide comfortable operation for right-handed people: for example, driving the right side of the road, the handshake must be done with the right hand, placing buttons on the pad or placing computer equipment on the desk in the school room (the mouse will usually be on the right). This additional creativity of left-handed people, therefore, probably comes from their constant struggle with the environment adapted for right-handed people. They have to spend much more time adapting to specific requirements and finding often unique solutions from the use of everyday objects, which in turn translates into an increase in their creativity (they spend more time thinking about it, especially in childhood).
I have 18/20 of these traits . But i dont think that all these indicate true charisma , cause the most of these traits can be learned and followed by someone who doesnt need extreme intelligence to manage them . Nevertheless all these traits are very usefull at everyday life and can make someone more inteligent than he was . Intelligent lifestyle is something that you can practice with , and change completly the quality and the sense of your life (sorry for bad english ,it is not my native language)
Hey guys! You should make an app "Top Think"! Your graphics and aesthetics are so "feelgood"! There are a lot of apps about lists, habits and routines, but if you made one looking like your videos, it would be amazing!
I'm also an INTJ, and I was thinking, "They're basically describing INTJs". I mean, you know, except for the being messy part. That seems more INTP-ish to me. 😂
As a psychology master's student and member of mensa I feel qualified to say that this list is bunk. Most of these traits and behaviours are neither required nor necessarily indicative of extreme intelligence.
Messy people being smart... I agree. My landlord is something of a hoarder, but always knows where stuff is and very well read and quite intelligent. Love his company.
I have this selective memory issue... I walk out the door, SWEARING that I've got everything; not moments later, I'm rushing back up the stairs and hunting around for the thing or things I'd forgotten. Sometimes it's the most CRUCIAL thing to my plans for that day! So, I've had to learn to create these TO GO BAGS. I have multiple varieties of the same things; because sometimes one to go bag is much like the other with only a crucial difference: When I wound up having too many to go bags; I switched up and made a list of the most crucial things I needed in general and then a list of the more specific items; combined that list and now only use 1-3 to go bags; but have boxes filled with those crucial items; that way I can switch out very quickly. I used to lose the to go bags, my keys, my wallet, my phone, my favorite jacket; so I had to learn to create a SPACE where these things could reliably be found; and then I researched the HABIT CYCLE; that way I could learn to form a habit or switch one out fairly quickly. This habit, would make sure that I always dropped my keys, wallet, and whatever else in the same spot each time. I'm super creative; but I need to blend that with a kind of revolving routine. When I was in the Marines, or at school, that wasn't all that necessary; but I've found that one of the greatest meta skills is the skill of creating your own structure; and then learning how to FLOW in and out of those structures ORGANICALLY. This has profoundly helped me overcome a lot of my own personally and highly vexing challenges. Peace. DM
At #11, I think it is worth noting that it should be "asocial" rather than antisocial because the latter is a negative and destructive disorder that is not manifested by avoiding interaction with people.
like another comment I saw, you guys need to reallze that having these signs doesn't mean you are highly intelligent, once you are more mature (except for old people, how are they falling for this??) than you are now (and thus, more self aware and self conscious), you will realize that what you guys are posting in the comments is just cringe which is worth posting on r/iamverysmart you don't get to call average IQ'ed people "idiots", you are not superior to anyone else, highly intelligent people can realize that their intelligence doesn't make them any more of a human being than others, that only stubborn or actually dumb people are idiots. also, knowing what actual intellectual people do doesn't make you intelligent yourself, If you want to, you can say "oh im dumb adnd not smart" all you want because you know smart people question their intelligence but it will take EVEN MORE than that to actually make you intelligent
A problem I have had alot is: Sometimes I'll hear an idea and my mind just gets it and figures it out. Then someone will walk up to me and be like 'I was really impressed how you did that such and such, here's an idea I have figure it out for me like you did that other idea. The problem is explaining to them that the first idea I did'nt "make it up" I just figured it out because there was a solution, but if an idea has no solution (i.e. it doesn't actually add up) and they get mad at me.
I'm right-handed. I will start practicing my left hand. I am very critical and over-analytical. I am very empathic and kind-hearted so I can get something across while maintaining the emotions of another.
11:06 - And there is no such thing as natural intelligence or an easy way to the goal (easy life). A man raised by a father who does not respect other people, including his child, often despises others around him in the future, as well as the child of a well-known musician begins to create music to become like him. In both cases, whether they achieve something or not and how it happens depends only on how they try to overcome obstacles in their path or if they decide to run away from them instead. Both of them learn this from their parents and others people in their life.
For me the prolem is when I'm presented with an idea something inside my brain figures out if it is worth pursuing, if so then my brain dumps a bunch of neuro-adrrenalin on the issue and I start compulsively doing it. However if that thing in my brain figures out something is NOT worth pursuing according to my brains internal criteria my genius intellect WILL NOT engage on it, and I sit there and feel stupid and don't know how to go about it even if the task seems simple compared to other things I do. This makes people think I'm lazy and self centered in my actions, and they don't understand it's something in my brain that is out of my conscious control.
I despise how most people refuse to listen to the validity of another side. It's important to recognize most sides have some sort of logic in a majority of situations.
I must say I also do not like a lot of games, but chess and pictionary. I find my son who is very smart and a critical thinker, he likes to do sport but he is not always all out to win a game.
Sorry I actually wanted to say I do not like a person saying to me guess what I bought you or who I saw or where we are going. I feel it wastes my time guessing and normally I know I am not gonna get it right in the first 3
We're evolving, we're all products of evolution, right. We need to consume more Anti-inflammatory foods and reduce inflammatory foods. Be peaceful. Always make wise choices. Tq.
I wasn't looking for this video, but it showed up and I listened (not much to see here). I felt like it was describing me. As much as I would like to settle into the smug sell-realization that I may actually be extremely intelligent, I can't avoid the sensation of smoke being blown......
but they do make snarky comments about people they don't know? they disingenuously sign off with more obvious snark? they don't know how to not make themselves just look mean? oh wait, that's just someone who has nothing better to do
Some of these apply to too many...liking games...debating ... The interest in patterns was new to me and I think like that a lot..even in art I make..history..politics..room design..!

Highly intelligent youth do not necessarily breeze through school. Sometimes they fail. School does not always touch on people’s true genius and intelligence.
Modern school isn't designed to cultivate intelligence, it's designed to create compliant individuals for factory work. Also, I am aware that I'm smart and in early years of school I got straight A's, but as time passed my grades plummeted not because I was incapable of doing better but because of a few small reasons: 1. Me trying to cultivate a social life I was deprived of for so long. 2. I was bored out of my mind from the material we had to study. 3. Many of the things we had to study were not practical or useful to life. I would say ordinary life, but I would even argue an extraordinary life. Tbh getting good grades is not always good measurement of intelligence-- it's more an indicator of high conscientiousness. My point is, you're probably smarter than you think, you just have to find the right way to cultivate that gift.
I also see a problem with 19. This point gives the impression that left handed people are always more intelligent. It also gives the impression that right handed or ambidextrous people can never be intelligent. I do believe the chance of being more intelligent as a left handed person might be higher, but I think right handed or ambidextrous people can also be as intelligent or even more intelligent than left handed people. Number 19 is also purely based on the percentage of people who were tested and were highly intelligent while all the other points have to do with the personality traits or other traits of intelligent people. Because of the above I think number 19 shouldn't be on this list. I did like the video though, so thank you for making it! Even though I have some criticism I didn't dislike the video and I'd love to see more of this content!

At age 6 I was already learning Latin and the piano. I hated it all at first but 4 languages and 2 instruments later IM SO GREATFUL SOMEONE GOT MEGOING AT 6 because it’s a BIG BEAUTIFUL WILD WORLD OUT THERE AND I HAD TO SEE IT ALL. THANK U GOD. MY BEST TO YOU ALL.
Item #1: Bullsh*t
I separate emotional and social "intelligence" from intellectual cognitive abilities. Much of this is really about the former.
What are to differentiate of these two for comparison?
This is excellent, great encouragement, for us all out here👍👍👍
Diversity of thought and reflection is one of my mantras . . .
Thanks for sharing !
Of course these kind of people motivate and inspire themselves, they read and understand the emotions of another one,so they find a wise solution to support and always their thinking is out of the box!!!
They are an adventure which is TRUE. Most commons they are unstoppable, optimistic and very analytical of facts or events.
" - Kim Unh-Yong (IQ of 200+)
This is exactly what an unintelligent person would say, plus adding in a quote from someone else that isn't their own.
@@TheDarkness1 An intelligent person on the other hand would add in a quote from someone else that IS their own. Thanks for the refutation, genius.
@@brucefleming208 Oh you got me there. 😂 Bending the narrative to fit your own personal agenda and adding in a backhanded insult. You should check out the video on emotional intelligence.
Ohh man then how can a 40 question long test determine someone's iq?
Love this quote
I agree
@@SausanMartinez what company measured your IQ?
lol no. Think of it as your gait. You can try and change it but there are certain things that will impact your gait that you can't change. You may think you're changing your gait/personality but it's still very clear who you are. You may be thinking of changing your behavior rather than personality.
you guys have to acknowledge the fact that our minds work in different ways and these might be just resemblances, not the fact or the must-have traits of highly intelligent people so you can have arguments about some of them.
and I like the fact that most people watch this then being totally related. as if in this world there are so many intelligent people
why is this comment not higher up in the comment section if it is so true, the other comments are just "r/iamverysmart"-worthy
One of my hypothesis was challenged with, “if you’re right the whole world is wrong” to which I replied, “What’s your point?”
4:13 I have an extremely empty minimal work space that is also a super nice private work space for scientists
but small amounts of organic mess in my personal work spaces but mostly empty cabinets & closets I do not sit I stand or lay down but I sit when working with others studying
my mother was a hoarder so I cannot have to much piles of crap or piles stuff around otherwise it gives me anxiety anxiety I generally never have even in very stressful situations
I am okay with a little work mess
but I prefer very clinically minimal empty spaces with amazing art & functional objects & items from nature & scientific tools & computers
You’re a genius
A strong sense of identity is more of an emotional, than intellectual trait.
Need to keep working on these traits. 👍
If you see signs that you’re a genius, don’t ignore them!
Honestly, i fit a lot into these points, but everything i built in my life is either falling apart or crumbling down.
We all are born geniuses. We all have brain.
I love connecting the dots. I can relate to this video.
You think your self as smart???
I'm an INTJ and I approve this message🤓
Infp here
Me too
Me too.
What'sthat
INTP-A and yes!
I see my self in all of the signs 😃😃😃. Good video... I recommend...
Messy people being smart... I agree. My landlord is something of a hoarder, but always knows where stuff is and very well read and quite intelligent. Love his company.
The conclusion of watching this video: All people are intelligent!!
Every individual is unique. So it does & doesn't apply to every individual.
Thankyouuu very beautiful message🔥
I have this selective memory issue... I walk out the door, SWEARING that I've got everything; not moments later, I'm rushing back up the stairs and hunting around for the thing or things I'd forgotten. Sometimes it's the most CRUCIAL thing to my plans for that day!
So, I've had to learn to create these TO GO BAGS. I have multiple varieties of the same things; because sometimes one to go bag is much like the other with only a crucial difference:
When I wound up having too many to go bags; I switched up and made a list of the most crucial things I needed in general and then a list of the more specific items; combined that list and now only use 1-3 to go bags; but have boxes filled with those crucial items; that way I can switch out very quickly.
Peace.
DM
Sounds like my dad, aside from keeping the peace. He loved a good scrap, and wasn't afraid to speak his mind
At #11, I think it is worth noting that it should be "asocial" rather than antisocial because the latter is a negative and destructive disorder that is not manifested by avoiding interaction with people.
like another comment I saw, you guys need to reallze that having these signs doesn't mean you are highly intelligent, once you are more mature (except for old people, how are they falling for this??) than you are now (and thus, more self aware and self conscious), you will realize that what you guys are posting in the comments is just cringe which is worth posting on r/iamverysmart
you don't get to call average IQ'ed people "idiots", you are not superior to anyone else, highly intelligent people can realize that their intelligence doesn't make them any more of a human being than others, that only stubborn or actually dumb people are idiots.
also, knowing what actual intellectual people do doesn't make you intelligent yourself, If you want to, you can say "oh im dumb adnd not smart" all you want because you know smart people question their intelligence but it will take EVEN MORE than that to actually make you intelligent
Everyone right now, I check 18 out of the 20, I must be extremely intelligent.
Intelligent ppl do lose their temper because they cannot tolerate stupidy especially in ppl who are old enough to know better!!
Thanks for this video mate 🙏🙏👌👌👌
I got all 20 signs. Im right handed but sometimes I write with my left hand to enhance creativity.
Congratulations. You are now a genius.
@@joshua7233 🤣🤣🤣
Top Think Is Awesome! Thank you for this great content!
2:43 I had to update this a few months ago, because of the damage that the covid Pandemic that happened to me. Since this December 2023 I can do this.
The last one is true. I keep finding myself becoming lazy.
Can anyone tell me where he gets his stock animations and the software he uses for these videos please?
I love hearing this!
Do u think ur smart
I despise how most people refuse to listen to the validity of another side. It's important to recognize most sides have some sort of logic in a majority of situations.
So you are telling me I'm not extremely intelligent?
Everybody is intelligent, to their way
Someone who is honest. Very wierd
You are intelligent, just not extremely intelligent 😂 only 1% of the population considered as extremely intelligent 😂
WOW! I DIDNT KNOW THIS. THANK YOU!😎👌💯
Great video..✌️🌞🌿
Thanks for the compliment
I'm going to build my own travel trailer...for something to do.
Great video
Hi bro
Excellent video but maybe a tiny bit too dogmatic. My husband is a brilliant man with a PhD in artificial intelligence and he hates games.
I dont think playing with other feelings is a game sorry
Intelligent people don't watch silly videos telling them how intelligent they are. They have better things to do. Have a good day.
but they do make snarky comments about people they don't know?
they disingenuously sign off with more obvious snark?
they don't know how to not make themselves just look mean?
oh wait, that's just someone who has nothing better to do
That’s just your personal input
It looks like you and I both made that mistake. I.e. watching silly videos.
I disagree, but that was very funny (and I needed a laugh)
"silly"? watch your word.
Thank you!
I love self psychology.
I have a go getter mindset!
Some of these apply to too many...liking games...debating ... The interest in patterns was new to me and I think like that a lot..even in art I make..history..politics..room design..!
to me, looks like these are generic traits that almost all people would have, in this way everyone can say they are extremely intelligent
thats the point getting everyone intrested in this xP
It brings us to one of Einsten's proverbs
It just suggest these are points where we ought to work upon
Shhh top think just wanted to motivate us
Bingo
I equate faith with intelligence... doubt destroys intelligence...
Faith = Gullibility
Gullibility = Being Duped
Being Duped = Losing Out
Losing Out = Errors in Judgment
Errors in Judgment = Stupidity or
Ignorance
Faith = Stupidity
I do get into fights but I am excellent at reading body language and emotions
A lot of these things apply to me but my grades in school were straight up terrible. I barely passed high school.
This presentation is such a Anglo-saxon Eurocentric view point😇
guess im not hyper intelligent LOL
Even though I have some criticism I didn't dislike the video and I'd love to see more of this content!
he said on averege like three times
Are you right handed?
@ Sam Schoneveld: I once worked with a left handed woman who was a complete idiot.
As an intelligent individual I agree with most points in this video
Pattern recognition- what pathologists do for a living and I found it came naturally
This is not intelligence, this is career planning. It's not uncommon for business people to confuse this.
Thank u for stroking egos but what is this based on ?
Right?
the last word you say perfectly describes me... i dont want easy road.. i want excitement and challenge
Funny bc I have a great memory but horrible with faces lol
