Charlie was a nickname for King Paimon. The spirit of Paimon was put in Charlie, the sister, shortly after birth by the grandmother. But Paimon desired a male host. The sister was simply a placeholder until everything was in place to make the switch. There's a part in the classroom where they talk about a character in an ancient story not having control over their lives. That was basically explaining this story. The family never had control. The cult only gave them the illusion of control. Like sliding the Seance flyer under the door, with hopes Annie would see it and "willingly" attend. The only time Annie had control was when she would sleepwalk. She knew her family was being sacrificed on a subconscious level, so she'd try to take them out while she was asleep. The cult was in the house while the funeral was being conducted. If you listen closely, when the family arrives home, you can hear footsteps in the attic and see dirt tracked on the floor. There are so many easter eggs in this movie. You could watch it 10x and each time pick up something new. What i mentioned was the tip of the iceberg. Like Annies husband was her psychologist before marriage.
During the classroom scene where they’re discussing the character, the girl turns around to look at Peter in the face when another girl in class says the characters in the story were hopeless. If there’s one thing that makes this a top tier horror story, I think it’s that right there. Pretty much everyone was in on it 🙆🏾♂️🙆🏾♂️
Also Annie mentions her brother's suicide during one of those group therapy sessions saying that he blamed their mother for his suicide, that she was putting voices inside her head. It's a clue that Annie's mother was trying to get a host for Paimon for a long time.
The strange thing is about "that scene," is that everyone who has seen this film will have felt the same as Peter did afterwards. He knew it had happened and was in shock, but if he didn't look, maybe it wasn't real.
I’m glad you acknowledged both Annie & Peter’s sides during the dinner argument; it was rough but necessary! Too bad ol’ granny & Joanie were already plotting & scheming 😂

Journey Marie first I want to say I have watched all the Hereditary reactions on TH-cam and your reaction is the best 👌🏼 IMHO. Now I think you are ready to react to (2014) The Babadook 😱
Ari Aster is one of the few contemporary filmmakers who can stand alongside a handful of mainstream 1970's directors that did not come to play with audiences or let them leave the theater in one piece. Coppola, Friedkin, Cimino, Scorsese. Cast iron storytelling with a feather touch.
Several comments (I’ll list downthread from this one): if you want a palette cleanser from the creepiness- check out the music of Millie Shapiro (the actress who played Charlie) - she is as naturally bubbly, charming and effervescent as her portrayal of Charlie was heavy with a creepy vibe. “Honey” is a fun lovely little pop tune.
There's about 50 really good horror movies out there. Starting with the exorcist, the first Halloween and Friday the 13th, hellraiser, the evil dead trilogy, all the multiple movies in the Conjuring universe, drag me to hell, smile woman in black, the descent, barbarian, The grudge, the ring, lights out (watch the short first) the shining, I'll throw in The Thing and Alien and Bladerunner because of their gore and jump scare factor and great effects story makeup etc, the Omen , and maybe a few others. But i can easily say, after The Exorcist, this is number 2! There was nothing ever hereditary about this family. Dear old grandma or even generations before her, tried conjuring demons, and put in the men of this family. When Charlie dies and ma sleeps in the treehouse and the camera pans back, watch the wall! When Peter is in bed and first hears the click, watch his eyes!! There's homages to Friday the 13th and exorcist in here. The clock stopping, the subject taught in Peter's class, even the released date of this!! Also, the parking lot scene was a setup. She kept pulling and tugging on Annie and turned her back to her own vehicle because if u look close, she JUST BOUGHT that chalkboard, and its in the back! How Toni Collette didn't win a Oscar is a crime! U can damn well bet either joannie never had a son and grandson, or if she did, she killed them trying to put paimon in them!
😊 I dont think I've ever seen someone so on edge and anxious which is completely understandable this movie is very intense felt like someone should've taken you out for ice cream after u watched this film anyway you're a natural so funny ❤
Is Toni's acting not mesmerizing!?! The fact that she didn't get an Oscar is disgusting! People need to be told to have their screen brightness up for this movie so they dont miss anything. This movie is brilliant, and the more you watch it, the more things you catch that you didn't before.
HAIL PAIMON 😂 LMAO. I was so surprised by this movie cause I have the lesser key of Solomon, the book that gives instructions on how to summon demons and when I heard paimons name mentioned I recognized it lol. Compared to a lot of the other demons mentioned paimons relatively nice lmao

I've never understood why anyone _wouldn't_ be scared of them, at least the traditional ones that act unnatural. Bozo acted like a person (when it was Bob Bell, anyway), sort of a combination of Moe and Larry of the Three Stooges. He was on WGN channel 9 when I was a kid, and was the inspiration for Crusty the Clown on the Simpsons (in case you didn't know). Other than that, they just seem like creepers hiding behind pancake make up! Like Ronald McDonald; he just seems creepy and scary, why's he a mascot for a fast food? Maybe it was just different in my father's generation and before (he was born in 1935, me 1965), but I just don't get it.
Please consider watching his next film Midsommar? That one is not scary. Seriously. Every reaction I have watched people get freaked out by Hereditary then Midsommar they collectively say "well that was the weirdest movie ever" I love both movies but I think Midsommar is better.
Something that really scared me about this movie is how the mother is preyed on when she needs to grieve. The character of Joan works just like demons do. But when you need support, it’s always safer to go to the village that’s been there from the beginning. Full of people you trust. Be careful of the new directions you go in, especially when you’re goin’ through it. If anyone has recommended Midsommar to you. I want to warn you now it’s about as uncomfortable as this movie. Hereditary is a deeply disturbing film that weaves supernatural elements into a story about a family's deteriorating mental state. The film revolves around a cult worshipping the demon Paimon, with the cult's influence passing through generations of the family. The film's twisted ending sees the possessed mother, Annie, decapitating herself to release Paimon's spirit, which then possesses her son, Peter. 🫣
Anyone who reacts to this movie MUST complete the circle and watch "The Witch"; two legitimate modern day Horror CLASSICS that disturbed even the 80's vets!! 🫡😬🎃😭
Charlie was a nickname for King Paimon. The spirit of Paimon was put in Charlie, the sister, shortly after birth by the grandmother. But Paimon desired a male host. The sister was simply a placeholder until everything was in place to make the switch.

Elevated, Schmelavated Family Drama is for Poseurs. A real Horror movie would have stared the moment this After School Special ended! You have Nihil taste, and I'm betting you haven't even screened %10 of the Horror releases this year, never mind enough knowledge to claim better than 90% of all Horror. I'm at least 90% correct 🤷🏽♂️ Masterpiece my ass! Cheesy Family After School Specials are not Masterpieces, they are cheesy Family Drama After School Specials.
@@Maldoror1972 Hereditary is a Family Drama with a beheading theme and every character except the Dad is mentally ill. Horror snobs like this thinly veiled Movie-of-the-Week Crap!
You look so pretty in this video
