A while back, I started to buy traditional/non-electric backup tools for all of my power tools. Over time, I started to use the traditional tools more and more and after a couple of years, it's more like the power tools have become the backup solution. For me, it's about trying things out and conditioning myself to manual labor (although I'm used to the latter since my childhood days as a natural part of my upbringing). I do have a solar backup system in place to charge my power tools if I had to but I just don't want to over-rely on them.
Love the strategy!
As my friends from Boston would say: "wicked smott"!
I'm not an owner anymore, after moving to another continent [even though I was born here...] but ''tools'' is my drug!... I work with wood, metal, stone, you name it, I've done it!... in my 60s I don't plan to build anything anymore, but like I said '' tools have been my extensions for all of my life, and as long as I breathe, I need tools!'' I see that you don't work with metal Jason... no welding, forging, and stuff... that's a thing you need to work on, together with farming your land and animal husbandry, I grew up on a farm, so farm animals and working the land was the first thing I learn, growing up, building stuff was the second... of a long line...
A corded reciprocating saw Les a very valuable tool.
Smaller gauge wire and a hose clamp maker. Worth it's weight in gold
Good call!
Ty for the video, great starter video for my non skilled starting prepper friends
Glad to help
Agreed
In the garage, the air compressor is a must have.
A good multi meter is a must for me.
Smart choice.
Field piece is my edc. Lol.
Hi Jason! A great assortment of tools! Thank you for showing and as always all the best from Austria 🇦🇹🤠👍🏕🔥
5 gallon bucket is an excellent tool
I had a Ryobi tool set some years back. They were good enough for a while. But now im all Dewalt 20v. Absolutely love my current setup. Im in hvac and haven't had a single issue. God bless you all and God bless America. 👍🏽👌🏾👊🏾🙏🏽🧡🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Dewalt makes some good cordless stuff.
@@SurvivalDispatch thanks for the response. God bless.
I’m sharing this.
Agreed, I have a plethora of Hand tools.
Prep now and not later because it could be too late.
Amen. It's irritating when people post "its never too late to start prepping", thinking it's an encouraging statement. I always write back "when the ark doors close, it's too late to start building your boat".
Starts at 3:40
Better grind that splitter, if the run out ever breaks off it will cut you like a razor !
Vice grips !!!!!
Its a quick release.i agree on the ryobi impact driver.i use to build semi trailers and i have the same driver and it has fallen off decks of trailers there are 4-5ft off the ground and they still work
See ya on the next one
Love my drill brace.
Hey! I thought you were coming to save me....😢 but apparently I'm mistaken. I guess, once again, I'm back to relying on JJ to come save me... haha. But Seriously, great video. Great to see that you are so bored that you chopped down the tree with an axe! Lol! So you are a "Proho? (Profesional Homeowner) another channel... a west coast nut case, but none the less, a proho... a lot of topics to cover there... anyway, I'm over 50, but when I grow up, I hope to grow up to be just like you! Or JJ! @FueltheFire 🤜🏽🔥🤛🏼
@OnThree
🤜🏽🇺🇸🤛🏼
Ha! You are a nut! What did you need saving from?
Thanks for the insight y’all 🤙🏻🇺🇸
Our pleasure!
Can't be too critical of Ryobi after watching "Surviving Ringworm" build several cabins with them and a chainsaw mill. Have you considered a buck saw instead of the axe?
Man I have the same impact drive, pry bar and favorite hammer lol. My skill saw is Milwaukee though but like you said get a good quality one because we use those very much along with extra blades.Think you hust talked me in to grabbing the Fiskers machete I almost got today when getting an axe handle. I buy the decking screws by the 10 lb box I use so many. Good clip Jason.
Cool. I would suggest a Trimotina machete. They are sold at most big stores like Home Depot. They are better than the fiskars in my opinion.
Good information
Thanks!
Vice grips is #2 tool.
Maggie is THE DOG! IM A SIG SAUR MAN 💯. BUT TO EACH THEIR OWN.
Ya know you have to have a board stretcher everyone needs one
That why I make the big bucks.
Nah, a real survivalist drills two holes each end, ties para cord through one end, round a tree and back to the board, the other ends the same but you use a truckers hitch to get the tension up.
Precision boardstretching without extra weight!
:-p
I swear you kids just love convenience...
😂
I would probably use my one man Crosscut Saw to fell a tree. My two outside cats get along with the opossum that lives on the front porch. I have a couple of my father's wood extension ladders. I would like to purchase a few more old wedges for splitting wood. I bought a new wedge made in China and I will never buy another one. Be prepared and be safe my friends.
W.T.H Double sided hacksaw blades!!!! Where do you get them from? I have never seen nor heard of those down here in Oz. I got me go too tools out in my work shed . Unfortunately any old files usually get turned into bladed tools lol.
Don't skimp on Channel locks, get the blue handle Channel locks brand.. the cheap ones won't lock... my experience
What is the best watch for SHTF, Grid down for multiple years, teotwawki preparedness?
There’s a lot to be said for those square shank screwdrivers.
The dog may be more useful than the tools. I applied Birchwood Casey Blue and some oil to my Estwing hammer after seeing the how deep the rust spots start to pit.
Vice grips.
Yes! I knew I was forgetting something.
Save the possum for when you run out of canned meat.
Opossum chilli or spaghetti?
I've eaten everything in my time, including raw grubs.
I choose raw grub over opossum 😆
My dog(atla..catahoula and golden lab)....is always after raccoons.....🤦😱💁
Love catahoulas! Had one named Rufus.
Clip the Fatman on your belt and won't wear a hole in your pants. Use one EVERY DAY DAY! JS!
I'm only buying hand tools. Where I'm going there's no power.
Sounds awesome! Where ya headed?
Bug out stop in about a year out in the wilderness. I was there for 20 years and I'm going back. @@SurvivalDispatch
If you're a line tech or someone else who makes a living with their tools, then brands like Mac and Snap-on start to make sense. If you're not using them every day for hours, the big name brands simply are not worth the money. Same goes for brands like metabo and whatnot on power tools as compared to ryobi. Most people that are fussed up on brands are just trying to look cool.
And I give u hell, but I'm joking. Please try to remember that! I promise you won't hate my guts! I'm a great person, but I come across crazy to most. But that's an act. I'm still saving my money for the 4J's....
4J4E!
