Love having Harry explain the stories of horror games and watching his playthroughs because they're so interesting but I'll give myself a heartattack playing these games alone 😅💀
So have I, he has inspired me so much into trying to make my own video game deep dives. I'm actually in the middle of writing up a script for it now but it's so hard to write up a cohesive narrative so even more respect to Harry for the content he pulls out
I've never heard of this game, so all I know about it is what was presented in this video. So based upon that, the burning question in my mind is, "Why did Doc need Eva and her metaversal abilities to expand and further his ambitions towards extending the human lifespan?" Does anything in the game actually explain that? If so, how; and if not, why not? I mean that seems kinda important to know, it *is* probably the most important of the game's past events leading the plot to where it was when the game's story actually began.
I was actually thinking about that one earlier. Like, what difference would it make? Unless he means existing inside a meta verse permanently? And no the game doesn’t explain it, so who the hell knows 😂 I really don’t want to hate on this game because it started well and the gameplay is okay. But man, this story is weak
@@GamingHarryYT Yeah, the only think I can think of off the top of my head that _could_ possibly explain this discrepancy, would be if Doc-for one reason or another-ended up deciding that creating an alter reality would be more pragmatic for pursuing 'immortality' than the biogenetic or biocybernetic therapies he had previously been working on using himself as the test subject. But, of course, if this *was* the case, one would assume that change in means to his goal would be reflected in _at least _*_some_* of his writing, right?
she's the processor to the machine that allows the genetic modifications. I think her projections of monsters is her ability to modify and create with her mind. That's why her being able to go to her own world benefits him
The story sounds like onw of those ideas a couple of bros come up with after one too many. It's amazing and punchy and visceral with plenty of shock factor, just like that game you used to love, you know? Unfortunately those dude bros don't always work out the fine details, cause they're not 'cool'.
The fact you have to put a spoiler warning in a video literally called Story Explained is hilarious! Excellent video, you did a fantastic job with a confusing game! This looks like it took some serious inspiration from Silent Hill. Theres a gifted young woman with a dark/evil side who is sacrificed by a maternal figure and being used and abused for her powers. With her mind she creates a rusty otherworld version of a specific location, full of grotesque vaguely human shaped monsters, which traps a protagonist that has a moral dilemma. Hell, you even get the classic ‘scene/location change via sudden unconsciousness! It’s a shame that they didn’t spend some more time filling the plot holes because they had pieces of a good story. They should get you to fill in the gaps!
I mean, he really doesn't have to add a spoiler warning. Anyone with common sense will understand that it's going to be spoiled and those who are too dumb to complain about it aren't worth bothering with anyways.

Am I the only one who thinks Josh is just a split personality of Matt that he uses to cope with his guilt when it comes to doing the dirty work? I feel like that would also explains Matt's amnesia, as he wouldn't remember the times Josh takes over.
This game is different based on what platform you play it on. I’m playing on ps4 and there’s no quick time events. Also, some of the puzzles are solved in different ways then in some walkthroughs.
That's due to PCG (Procedural Content Generator) / RNG (Random Number Generators) basically the levels or item placement change slightly every time you die to give you a more unique experience not necessarily due to hardware
so quick thing about eva's "meta-verse" it is most likely based on paracosms and the maladaptive daydreaming while there is not enough to know for sure, but the way it is mentioned that eva spends hours in her world. it could be that the experiments may have taken her ability to change her world and that is why she no longer can escape or maybe to keep her paracosm accessible.
The voice acting was good in the cutscene of Matt waking up in the bathtub. He sounded confused, scared, and in pain like the character. Then the player gets control and we get... "It's locked." Though I did like a random part when he finds a brick and names it. 😆
As always very nicely done. This is the first time he didn't finish the whole story all about or maybe this is a very complicated game to understand hope to play it and share some thoughts about it to. Keep it up good job
A bit of a further explanation for the name Oxide. So basically, your cells oxidize as time passes, then they die; hence why anti-oxidants ate important.

Let me guess, This game came from Eastern Europe? It will make sense why the voice acting is like that. I noticed that's usual the case with a lot of games that come from that part of the world even France.
I played this game recently (got a refund because I just didn’t enjoy the overall gameplay mechanics though interesting I kinda found annoying and really just wanted to save/wanted it to be less punishing) (also no way to rebind keys was very irritating) But the story and concept is kinda interesting and with some refinement could be pretty decent Also just the crypto/NFT stuff was just instant poison in terms of dating the game
From my understanding. Eva escapes when you do. They are the one walking around the facility. It's vaguely explained in 1 of the 4 endings. My guess is good eva frees you and bad eva frees herself. in the end we never get to see that so who's to really say. chopping off doc's hand doesnt seem to change much either
The doctor may have been using the bathtub as a kind of sensory deprivation tank. Think something similar to the tank that Eleven is in at the beginning of Stranger Things. Many people report experiencing weird, incredibly vivid dreams or visions while in SDTs, like lucid dreaming. Also, there are a lot of cultures that view water as a conduit or bridge between the lands of the living and the dead, or between waking and dreaming. Otherwise, I have no idea how doc is shifting people over with Eva, or how he's managed to trap her in her own world ¯\(°_o)/¯
I enjoyed this but I have way too much experience with these types of games so I I got the best ending, first try without firing a bullet. I feel there's really no point in replaying the thing. I really wish I had died once or twice so I could have experienced the more silent hillish version of the motel. Not often I wish I had received a worse ending.
wait...so...shady group needs this specific person to achieve their utopia. person just so happens to be related to an old woman who's involved. person just so happens to divide in two sides of the same "soul". hmmmm are you sure the protag didn't get there after a car accident?
Maybe all the hotel people already dead? Eva already die maybe she is from spiritual, so why they have a monster on this game. Maybe Josh was hiding from this psychopath, Josh is the one find a person let this psychopath kill them for human experiment. In this player character already die too, why he cannot go outside the hotel an why he go outside hotel pass out back to bathtub.
The game itself is alright, I’ve seen other with the same concept but better story. The story was lacking for me, I feel like the devs rushed the story out tbh but the game itself was okay
Can’t help but see this game as a series of ideas ripping off of other horror properties awkwardly mashed together by amateurish writing. It could have probably been executed well, but failed harder than The Evil Within.

It not "exactly" horror but Harry can you cover "The Hex", the story it tells you is very interesting, it plays around with the medium and is interesting once all the cards are laided out.
I was pretty disappointed with this game. The voice over every time you turned around got annoying & lost the feel of the creepy atmosphere. I liked the story but hated every ending especially the good ending. You don’t get to see him actually leave the elevator into the forest the doc spoke about, or even the parking lot into his own car. We know Eva was pregnant with a child & she’s not only the subject split in two, she’s the ghost he kept seeing. But it didn’t explain much else about her other than her grandmother sacrificing her to the cause. We also don’t know what all oxide does, who the doc works for, or how it all began. If you do a speed run after your first failure, it’s only about a half hour game which is rather disappointing for the price of the game. I see there will be a second one involving Josh. So i will eventually check it out when it becomes available just to see his side & hopefully more about the “prostitutes” who were actually police officers. Or I’ll just watch a couple TH-cam videos to find out.

i also played on ps4 and i had quick time events but aufter the second time i died they were left out.
