I'm new to the channel 🍼, but anyway. I am amazed that you give so much important information to your content. I get frustrated with channels locking in on certain scanners. Appreciate you expanding options within a scanner.😊
Great vid/info easily explained for someone like me who has experience of analogue but not DMR scanning. Pulled the trigger on the 160 for use here in the UK. Many thanks and kind regards.
Hey Jonathan, I had little interest in these models until you explained the service searches. The ability to drill down into the different services really makes this an interesting scanner. Now could you please please please convince Uniden to make a SDS200 update with a remote head and blue tooth out for car stereo audio!? I have ham and GMRS remote heads with room in between for a SDS200 remote head. Main unit under the seat.
@@mpol701 The difference with this scanner is they split up the service into banks so you can drill down into sections of the band. As an example, the ham bands are separated. You can just scan 6m or 2M & 70cm. Or any combo you want. I don’t know why they didn’t separate FRS GMRS MURS into 3 banks though. Hopefully that will be changed in a firmware update. CC should have stayed. I have not used the band scope yet but I do find it very useful on my ham radios. The fire tone out search seems to be more accurate than past scanners.
@@joelhuntress6736 we get 160 in late summer uk Europe the bands service might be differant, but I don't use them much, but the close call is very useful, especially at airshows for discrete air to airs and airshow ops fm channels, though in uk agsi often sand freqs are used short term businesses and events allocations but, I cN go to event nr airshow atc and just watch everything from St John ambulance, security, stewards and anything else flash up on the radio, excellent, often freqs we knew, but other times new stuff
@@joelhuntress6736 we get fire tone out still on the eu uk models totally pointless for us p25 is ok on the sds as we have very limited use at usaf bases but most encryption but sonme clear
Does anyone know a dealer for these scanners in the Greensboro NC area. I really would like to talk in person before buying. I have had scanners for over 40 yrs. My local police have moved to the viper system and I know nothing about what will work for me .
Does anyone know how to progran color codes? There's no info in the manual. In the radio menu, there are numbers listed, but no corresponding colors. I saved a GMRS frequency from svce search to a bank, to scan, but the color, yellow, didn't save, and I couldn't do it manually. Thanks.
I can't download from scanner to software . Wipes out everything in ARC 260 . There is problems with comport settings . A waste of $350 plus software .
In most area, outside usa the sds can be purchased already including dmr, nxdn

Service searches have been on uniden for many years so nothing new, and why did they take close call off and give a pointless band scope?

do u still here the file to do it GREFWTOOL? dsp update?
What’s the cost of both these scanners?
Larger metropolitan areas use automated voices. Smaller areas like where I live have real people
I get no trunking, but no p25 seems odd.
I have this scanner and it sucks very hard to program and does not work with sentinel software
I have to buy new tires and a battery for my car before I can even think about buying the 160. Darn!!
There's must be away to unlock p25 on these scanners
That'd be interesting

6+ minutes before talking about the radios
