Hi Thomas!
Thank you so much for the feedback of IHAS, I learned a lot from it and it will be a great example for other developers to learn from the mistakes I've made through 3 years of development
And thank you for your podcast, I've learned so much!
I like to sh*t on the state of the AAA just as much as anyone else but some of these indie games make me appreciate how much stuff the AAA consistently gets right every single time. Stuff we don't even notice until an inexperienced game dev shows us what the other side looks like.
OH man! This is just goldmine of game dev knowledge. Please keep doing this reviews.
11:52 I love how you explained how a "good hook" would work out. Even though it might be a job for a game marketer like me to help devs find a good hook it would greately help gamers, publishers and even marketing agencies to know the games hook from the beginning. I have come across several devs who are trying so hard to sympathy play their games and it looks bad. This was a big thing some years ago in my country Mexico when we started taking part on the gaming scene. Mexican devs were pushing very hard games about mexican culture which in my opinion it does look like pushing sympathy in extreme. Thankfully nowadays mex devs are focusing on creating good games instead of games about our culture
I know it's too late but I just wanted to say I liked the post processing in Ines ;) Not too much for me. Wishlisted the game. Thank you and good luck! ;)
@57:00 That came had so much symbolism in it, really awesome stuff. Felt kinda like a playable creepypasta if anyone remembers those.
You are a wizard
Great tricks and tips with the voice acting skills
Love watching your streams Mr.Brush keep them going!
I actually make a Japanese language game on Patreon with some supporters. It has provided me with an almost full time income without Steam :) Love these videos 👍
Idk how I keep missing these when they’re live.
Thomas I think I get what you are trying to say, but I don't know if I agree on this hook thing entirely. I think it is simply because you consider a hook to be anything that validates the success and feeds your confirmation bias. You were discussing more of the description of IHAS (which surely could be better), but bringing up Thronefall, a game with no description created by a youtuber with a large audience is just dishonest and confusing at best. Saying that the "minimalistic" part of Thronefall's description is the hook is a wild guess imo. My money is more on the somewhat unique graphics that Thronefall has.
the thing that sells is simplicity, not complexity...
I am happy for Jonas but the look of Thronefall does not hit my taste at all.
12:20 that's "The Wild Robot" ;)
i definitely thought "i has a gun" before you said it
Thomas can you provide several alternatives to send out games to you.
Not everyone has X/Twitter
Omg..... Thomas, I just noticed how you did 'edit, fill' in photoshop to remove ui... I don't even want to think of the total hrs I've wasted not knowing about this feature 😵
What software is he using for cutting and mixing the sound ? :)
Audacity
Thank you very much🫡
i learn alot from this ty!
How does one "solve" demonic rituals? 🤣
