Lava Golem is a normal summon, not effected by Vanity’s, Stormwinds and the likes.

Truly being clowned on by "toons" after full combo. I expected one golem because of the thumbnail, but two and a Kaiju (before stealing them back) was a lot funnier than I expected
They werent even running a Toon package but a Comic Hand Engine which is even more funnier.
funny thing about that deck is it's power level scales with the opponent's deck. if you set 1 pass then that deck wouldn't do anything but if you're a deck that puts 10 negates on the field that deck can easily demolish your board
ive played a similar deck very similar cuz i never enjoyed meta , and when u actually get to use maxx c oooooooooooooooooooh man, if u dont negate special summons is 100% gg

When people start making "indestructible" boards people start adding stuff like super poly, Ra sphere mode, lava golem, Kaijus, so if your deck does not have recovery take that into account.
This deck usually would, however due to his poor hand he was not able to make a recovery, as he had to use all of his recources rather than being able to keep certain cards, like that Rite he Discarded. I think that if he had pulled better hand, he would have won that as he stil had many cards. But then again, that is insane luck from that opponent who managed to grab 2 Lava Golems, a Kaiju, and the one 3 of in his deck that made it all work.

I said his deck wouldn't work as well in most situations as some people think in the comments
at my locals i gave my opponent a sphere mode over their chixaio, crystal wing, and baronne then raigeki'd it along with tzolkin and shenshen. Felt good.
Hand traps being tuners is great because it gives them multiple purposes like you can normal summon effect veiler and make stardust dragon with your gorz. I don't think they quite predicted how far halq would take things at that point though.
They absolutely predicted it, thats why he was an Ultra in TCG.
Yea Halq was so generic it's broken, then again it was there because it was a "help" for synchro decks because of the MR4 nerf (along with Verte for Fusion and Electrumite for Pendulum) but since MR4 was no more... It's time to say goodbye to those extremely good generic supports (besides Electrumite, I guess Konami just hates Pendulum)
Synchros are the bane of yugiohs existence. I've never seen something fun come out of synchros. It's all negates and floodgates. Xyz have fun things and have resources. Synchros are stupid

The most surprising thing about this wasn’t even the play he made, it’s the fact he’s playing toons
The way Farfa said "TOONS!?" in absolute disbelief is ingrained in my brain now. I literally cannot say the word "cartoon" anymore without thinking of this video and this moment.
It's a real deck that exploits the strength of toons to steal monsters. And the Board destruction capacity of the lava golem / Nibiru. It's quite original and fun deck. I invite you to try, if I'm not mistaken this deck is a creation of a big French youtuber.

@@eldavid8774 I still enjoy the game to some degree, even if I don't really play it anymore, and yugitubers like Farfa, Dzeeff, MBT, Cimo, and Nymnhym all have content that's not purely "modern", so I watch their stuff sometimes. Even some of the modern stuff is entertaining because they're good entertainers that happen to be playing a game I used to thoroughly enjoy.
Beyond that, I thought Owner's Seal came out before LODT, like somewhere in 2005. I knew Remove Brainwashing came out around the same time as Lava Golem, but I thought the "spell" version of that card would have come out by then. Still satisfying to watch cards that old just completely invalidate a so-called "unbreakable board".

This guy is insane with his opening hand, he had 3 Seals, 3 Lava Golems, Kaijus, Draw cards and a Comic Hand Engine. He could have bricked with his Comic Hand engine with only getting some of his board breakers and end up in an awkward beatstick in his opponents side. But nope the guy just got a godly hand.
Yugioh in 2050: It's considered bricking if you didn't vomit your deck 10 times and have at least 100 negates on board.

The guy is playing a "Give and take back" deck, throwing kaijus and golens on the opponent and using spells to take they back. Bricky but can be very destructive to a board like that.

All halq needed to have was the requirement of one of the materials needing to be a crystron card and then its all good.

@@colonelcider8292 I don't deny it being nice to have options, and I don't mind having them as Tuners, I just wish they made more Tuners that aren't Hand Traps that are better. Those are the main tuners that people use because the others usually aren't worth running and usually don't do enough.
I also think the amount of floodgates and hand-traps is oversaturated. You can literally make a deck of handtraps and do really well, just go into Baronne and Halq with nothing but hand traps and consistently win, there's no reason even use other cards or decks. There are so many handtraps, that people have to decide to not use the less OP or slightly less versatile ones, for example Moonlit Chill is a cool card, but nobody uses it because half of people's decks is Ash, Niburi, Ogre, Imperm, Gamma, and Veiler and blowout cards like Droplets TTT so there is no need to ever consider Moonlit Chill.
And likewise, there are a lot of floodgates that are a bit too generic or spammed in Tier 1 decks. Mystic Mine is insane to be generic, and isn't even fun for it's user. Summon Limit is better than Vanity's Emptiness imo.
