for the type of cutting i typiically do over the course of a day i have no problem with 8CR13MOV steel. it gets super sharp ,its very easy to sharpen and with an occassional touch up on a sharpening steel i can go a long time between full resharpenings of the blade. so for 30 bucks getting a very stylish spyderco type blade and great overall design this knife is quite a bargain ! a Rockwell of 60 is impressive ,and very acceptable to me.

Totally agree with you Wes. It's a great small knife. Better materials and it'll be a homerun 😄. Maybe a bit bigger too for a full forward finger choil 😄

Such a great slim knife compared to most of Jesper’s wider designs.

AUS-10 would be cool for this. Always preferred it to chip prone D2. Wouldn't say no to 14c28n either, lol. Replacement of the washers for PB is child's play so I don't hold that against it.

I recommend the Pilar III if you want slightly better materials and ergos. Still a budget knife but with greater satisfaction likely.

Your comment about better materials on this knife stands true for about 80% of CRKT knives. They have so many good designs that just fall short on materials and are overpriced due to paying the designers. Don't get me wrong, designers deserve to get paid by it just looks like they skimp on the materials to keep the margins higher for them. This company would do so much better if they upgraded their steels in general.

I haven’t tried a CRKT in quite a while, may need to give one a shot soon 👍🏻

They have a decent 2021 lineup. Hopefully they improve their material selection and QC.

My first thought when I saw the knife: Poor man's Native ? The shape is fairly similar.
