This is such a good video. Most tutorials beat around the bush, but if we’re already at the point in photoshop that we’re adding lighting, this is perfect. This is truly the best tutorial I’ve ever seen, and I’ve made a few 🙌
This reminds me of how I edited a photo with a fake eye (a cosplay with an extra eye on the forehead) to make it look real, and I did all the catchlights and shading, and then zoomed out and realised the actual human eyes looked completely dead in comparison and I needed to do the same thing to them
I thought this was an art tutorial thing and was waiting for him to say something like ‘and now that you got a reference real close, you can start drawing it in the eye’. When I finally looked at the tags it all made sense😂
Correct me if im wrong but the highlight in the actresses right eye seems off the me seeing that its a white dot surrounded by black, if the scene lighting were able to create a highlight on her eye than would it not lighten up that general area? I find the highlight being brighter than the white of the eye which should be the baseline for the brightest part of your image a little jarring as well. My thought process immediately goes to eyedropping the color of the white of the eye for the color of your highlight to eliminate some of the in my opinion overexagerated pop its giving off.
The eyes look like they were blurred before hand, and dodged afterwards, which makes the whole thing seem more impressive than just moving catch lights.
I just started high school and my major is more like graphic designing, so we get to work with all the adobe programs and I was struggling a bit with photoshop, making me obviously prefer illustrator, so this channel is helpful, I’m definitely subscribing
This man is the GOAT. I learned how to use photoshop from someone else but I didn't know how to USE photoshop until I started watching Unmesh some years ago.
that's how vogue photos are being edited and people be like "oh my gawd! how she can be so beautiful soo flawless" they don't understand that it is all editing.
I don’t know if am the only one who don’t find all those models “beautiful” to me, beuty is those minor imperfections like some pimples, you don’t have to be an elephant but there should be some skin. Those skinny spotless vvomen media portrays as beuty standard is not just it for me.

Well it's not dull, it's just where the lights reflecting on her face. Everybody has high let's in their iris-pupil area depending on where the lights hitting.
This made my artist's heart broken... you couldve just use the selection wand and add white on the selection wand area using airbrush so you can controll how place you want it to be look at coax's tuts on how he highlights eyes... i dnt have photoshop but i wish i have
The additional shine is what makes this expert-level. Just copying a catchlight only goes half way!
I learned that from drawing. Having skills with drawing really helps with
imo it looks better without the extra shine
I think he went too hard on the 2nd part. Just a barely there light would look less vampiric. Lol
It looked fake at the end
I think the second brightening effect is an overkill. makes em look fake
If this guy said he created photoshop, i wouldn't be surprised
frr
