@@Brato1986 don't even get me started on the phones. Every phone was different, every phone had a different design and varied in features.
Back when you had to learn every new phone of yours.
Now it's all the same, just a big slab of screen and some cameras.
Only thing you have to learn is the UI based on the manufacturer.

HDMI is kind of uncommon for a 2007 notebook, but a laptop format HD DVD drive is SUCH a rarity! I didn't even know those existed, and I wouldn't be surprised if they sold for a hefty price in working order for historic significance.

I had the Asus G1 at the time and remember this one being released and wanting it so bad! 🤣 I never got it, but almost upgraded to the G1S, but in the end, the G1 served me well for quite a while. Eventually the battery stopped holding charge and being a TA, I didn't bother getting a new battery, so had it plugged into the brick 24/7. After that, the ribbon cable for the screen started failing, so it was then hooked up to a monitor and then it after about 8yrs, it was just too slow and old tech, and was sadly retired. Thanks for the video (and memory trip) Psivewri. Merry Christmas Mate.

I have an Asus ROG from a similar time period and almost similar design, its biggest issue was heat as the GPU got really hot and would glitch out after a while, had to modify it for better airflow as the grill on the bottom was fake (on yours its what looks like the wheel rim), so it drew air from tiny vents over the bottom. so i cut out the fake grill and pit some wire mesh in its place and it helped (although still over heats even after cleaning an new thermal paste but not as bad or as fast as before)

I tried to use Arctic MX4 thermal paste on the laptops, and it didnt work well for me. after a week or so it was getting thin under a small silicone chip and temperatures was very high. The same paste works well for a desktop CPU with a heat spreader.
So for laptops I much prefer Thermal Grizzly. Even their not expensive paste works well.

Nice laptop, now that is a premium laptop from the days of old! As you state, the Core 2 Duo and DDR2 RAM will be quite limiting, and I may have opted to go for either Windows XP or Windows 7 as Vista was rather unloved. Still, it had a HD DVD drive (!), which is more than what can be said for any modern laptop or desktop.
Also, as far as thermal paste goes, I still recommend the Arctic MX-4, I grabbed a rather large 20g tube of it which will do the job quite nicely. For high performance stuff, such as my HP OMEN laptop and my custom desktop PC, I use Arctic MX-6, whereas for less important stuff (such as older laptops, and laptops less critical to temperatures) I use Arctic MX-2.
Though ultimately, so long as you don't use the cheapest Chinese paste, it should be fine.
