    I just ran across your channel recently and was pleased to see so much information on the Simplicity Sunstar tractors. I have had one (late 80s model M20 engine) for about 20+ years with a quickway loader.
    I've used it an abused it but I keep it going.
    Watching this channel, I see a few maintenance things I need to do. And a few things I didn't know.
    The air diverter, for example came with my tractor, but I never knew where it went. Now I do. I didn't know about how to check the trans fluid level, now I do. And a few other things.
    The loader I have didn't require removing the brake pedal, so I still have both. It looks like it mounts a little forward of the Ziploader you showed.
    Mine does have the hi/lo and diff loc which I've used a LOT. So much that my heel would become sore. So I put a "pedal" onto the lever to made it more comfortable. My property has little flat and level. So going down a hill with a bucket full of dirt, when it would get uneven, not only would the unloaded wheel spin, but the tractor would take off down the hill.
    The diff lock keeps that from happening. Also, be careful having it engaged and making tight turns on hard ground. I broke two rear hubs before I learned to be more careful.
    I enjoy your channel and hope you keep it going.
    All the best to you.

    Thank you for making this video. I just purchased a Deutz 1920 and it’s been a bit confusing to understand what options it has and what options may be available for me to add to it in the future. This video cleared it up quite a lot. However, I’m still looking for good information on adding a 3-point hitch so anything documenting hitches would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Great Tour! Mine is a little rough, I have the plow and the snow thrower. I didn't have the Lift Rod so I made one and put up a "How to" video of it on my channel.
    I was hoping you would show the rear 3 point lift system.

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did forget to show that! I've got one mounted on my Loader tractor. When I switch the loader over onto the Magnum powered Sunstar I'll be sure to show the rear hitch system. My apologies for dangling that carrot and not following through. I have seen your video and it was quite informative. Unless I find a lift rod, I'll be making my own as well. Cheers! Zip~

    Thanks for the wealth of information. I learned a lot watching this video. I just traded some wood working equipment for a sunstar with the loader. Looks like your zip loader. 48” bucket. It’s in not running condition. Previous owner said he thinks the butterfly nut was dropped into the carb. I think he tried to run it anyway. And the motor began shaking badly and broke two mount bolts and the muffler broke off during this.
    Im thinking I need a repower. I know I need horizontal 1.125” shaft. What amperage charging system should I look for?

      I know them OK......My main knowledge base is on the older Simplicity tractors, but these Sunstar's are really growing on me. I'm getting spoiled with the creature comforts like power steering, differential lock and two speed hydrostat transmission. Cheers Arcie! Zip~

    Hey Zip those Sunstarts sure were made very well. But I guess no money in making a little tractor that did not wear out. Everything is throw away now days. I do not like that but as they say-- it is what it is. Some company should pay you to sell their tractors as you are a wealth of knowledge. On most tractors I usually can tell you the color of the hood. Great explanations. Thanks again for the videos.

    Not all the engine flavors there was 14hp k321 and 16hp k341 models was curious if rear lift was hooked to primary lift or secondary lift or if the secondary lift is only for 4 way plow controls🤔

      Yep, still in the crate. I've seen it floating around for a while now. If it wasn't the smallest engine variant with no hi-lo or Differential Lock it would have sold ages ago. Cheers! Zip~

    What’s your feelings about the Bolans tractors. The ones with the old Wisconsin engines are used to have a distributor here in Indianapolis that was a Bolans dealer I work for them for a while. I thought they were a pretty good machine.

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, Bolens ARE great little garden tractors and they have a huge following. Especially the old tube framed and Ride-a-Matic's. Cheers! Zip~

    • @ablelock
      @ablelock ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the old tube frame was the type I was talking about the old 1050s that had the worm gear transmission in them they were built like tanks I don’t think there was too many other tractors out there in their timer that could match them that was just in the old days are used to work for a dealer here in Indianapolis for a short time there was a Bolans dealer. And they were just a muscle tractor. I enjoy your videos I think you’re a very smart guy I can tell that you either worked in the shop in the past or you’ve been doing it for a very long time. Keep up the good work on the videos we’re sitting back watching you and enjoying what you’re doing don’t worry about the time frames if it’s longer than 10 or 15 minutes or 30 minutes you just film whatever time you need to and we always have a pause button on our side we can pause it and always come back and watch it later. But your knowledge is always great to get. Do you remember the old Wisconsin cast iron engines The 10 horse and a 12 horse that they had. MOTORS we’re almost like a car engine they were tough they put up with a lot.

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ablelock I do Able. In fact, in my area I am the only shop that understands and knows how to properly adjust the "Timers" or what most view as a distributor on the 1950's and early 1960's 9 and 10hp Wisconsin's. I have numerous Wisconsin engines that I own. A 16hp THD Twin, an old Military BIG Single, a 7 1/4hp, 9hp with the Timer and a 7hp. All but the 9hp with Timer are Mag fired. The THD is a hand crank start. The next on my gotta have list is the old V4. Little known is that the V4 was often implemented in Air Compressor and Welder/Generator applications for construction sights where two of the 4 cylinders were converted to compress air and the attached Generator head which produced both AC and DC voltages was used to both weld and provide electricity at job sights. Pretty incredible accomplishment for a single engine to pull triple duty like that. They were also popular on early skid steer's and Teramites. Cheers! Zip~

    Curious if they had different gearing in the transmission for the 23 and 26 tire options?
