Of course Michael! Thanks so much for all the leads. My pocket doesn't thank you though lol. Catch you soon when we get into your Sovereign! I may use you as my voice over lmao. Zip~
The Sunstar Farm!! Just OutStanding!!! Glad I stopped by! Don't get all the notifications these days.. Mine is a wreck compared to your new find! Glad to see another in the collection. Just gorgeous. Mine originally came from a dealer Upstate N.Y. Farm Country. I may be the only one on the Island to have one. I have never seen one before. These are really nice machines and soooo overlooked as you know! Awesome start to my day, morning coffee on a bleak Monday morn! Feel betta, glad ya stuck it out to bring us this footage!!
I couldn't NOT make a video on this one. It ranks right up there with the top 3 and may even be #1 over Sunny the Magnum powered Sunstar as far as cosmetic condition. I'll put it through its paces and make sure it's all good. This one is the Twin to my Zipploader. Same year and options other than it has the smaller tire size options. Just wish it had the locking Diff. Ultimately, I want 4 keepers. One mower, one tiller, one grader and one loader. After all, if possible, you've got to have one of each tractor for your implements lol. I may move the 60" deck from the Briggs powered Sunstar over to the new one and let the Briggs powered one move on down the road. I know! ME....letting go of a Briggs! lmao....but it doesn't have the Hi-Lo trans or diff lock so it's not very well optioned. Thanks for stopping by Buddy! Hopefully you can find another Sunstar or Deutz-Allis to add to your arsenal. Cheers! Zip~
I find the Diff Lock is a must! I added weight to the back,,, I hung a generator coil and frame,(that old one I have on my channel that isn't worth fixin) and tire chains.. Hopefully this helps, No snow this year soo.. I find this machine punches well above its weight class. Most of the time I move broken tractors around. On a muddy day as well.
There's just somethin about a Sunstar. It's old/traditional enough to have the weight and legitimate durability of IRON under it's hood.... and modern enough to have a great seat, power steering and a gas gauge! These were some of the last great KEEPER machines, before the throw-away culture took over practically every aspect of our lives. I loved the 80's and early 90's...PURE AMERICANA GREATNESS!
You Health seems to be fllowing a similar pattern my friend. Great machine sir. You did an awesiome job of starting it right from removing the fuel and forward. Power steering for real. Wow. It looks like it needs to be used. Light switch dirty. My close caption wouldn't turn on but I got it all. Sweet Your addiction is years in the making. Well ----get better.
Hello Zippo, I heard ya pretty good, glad your in the shop and what a great fine you lucky Boy, Iam glad for ya, it has came to a good home, take care of that voice don't do no Hollaring , thanks Zippo
Mr Mule! Thanks much my Friend! It's definitely a beauty. As soon as Mother Nature stops with her temper tantrum I'll get it all cleaned up. Cheers Buddy! Zip~
Nice score, I recently picked up a 2007 Lawn-Boy zero turn, with the Honda 15hp pro engine, and a Lawn-Boy 2014 10666 with working keystart, both look like they have never been used, they were owned by an 82 year old gentleman, who just gave them to me, both were garage kept since new, and he had all the paper work, very well maintained for sure, hope you get your voice taken care of, please keep us, your fans, informed.
lmao...I seem to keep finding these darn Sunstar's and I just can't say no to them! lol And, on the next Sunstar find, I'll try to remember to sing that just for you my Friend lol. Cheers! Zip~
Thanks for the video. I am looking to get into my first Sunstar.....well, actually it's a Deutz Allis 1920 version but as I am doing my pre-purchase research I found your video and I am astounded by how much variety of options this line of machine had. I guess I am a bit disappointed to see that the 1920 I am considering is missing some bells and whistles. I am in Michigan and I see that offerings of the Simplicity/Deutz/Agco/Chalmers etc. is a bit thin and after re-reviewing the options available on my local marketplace, none appear to have the dual hydraulics levers, only one or two much farther away (and much more expensive) have the rear PTO output and I don't think any have the 3-point lift. My main reason for targeting this line was to get a good chassis to transplant my Sears/Kwik-Way front end loader from my old Sears Suburban that is lacking so much. With a bit of customization, I am hoping it will be a good fit but I would hope that it will be possible to build it into a larger 'system' in the future if I find one with the better options.
Great score Zippo. CC was unavailable but I could hear you just fine. You have a great collection of Simplicity Sunstars my friend. Rest your voice and we'll see you in the next one.

really nice find . some brands of riders have brittle plastic fuel tanks . i have an old tank that clips to my hand truck and gravity feeds carb while engine fuel pump empties tank . might save a viewer some expense .
Hey now!!! That is an EXCELLENT Idea Bill!! Wow....I dig it big time. Can I steal it? I'll definitely give you props for the suggestion. Cheers Buddy! Zip~
@@ZippoVarga if you make one you might consider making a stand , and mounting to rear hitch . that way you could also test trans , deck , steering , etc , as soon as you get one running . i've thought about a 4ft 2x4 with a heavy piece of 4in angle on bottom , bolted or clamped to hitch area , and 4 opposed large L brackets on top to support tank .
@@billsmith1770 I've got a 2 gallon metal tank from an old Gilson tractor I use all the time and typically, I just bungee it to the steering wheel or hold onto it. I know...lazy, but it works lol! Cheers Buddy! And again, thanks for permission to use your trick! I'll take all I can get lol.
How you manage to come into those Sunstars is awesome. Wonder why it was in a bone yard. Those large Sunstars are not real common around here, western PA. I have a Deutz version, great machine. I'm diversified, have one of a bunch of different colors!
Is there anyway to buy a front end loader and a backhoe for a sunstar off you? I got a sunstar for all my mowing/tilling/ and plowing. I also have a deutz-allis ultima 1920 that does the snow blowing. I want to turn the Ultima into a front loader/backhoe rig. Thanks!

Well good to hear from you er um sort of 🤷 And as luck would have it my closed captioning ain't working what the .... Hope the doc gets you squared away !!! That machine is in awesome shape wow !!!
Were you able to hear me at least? I increased the volume in post editing hoping that would be enough for most everyone to hear. And I know!!!!! I was absolutely floored when I saw it. Scott (The bone yard owner) was a rock star for intentionally saving this tractor and insisting that it stayed whole for the right person who would bring it back to its former glory (mechanically) and give it a new lease on life. So huge praise to Scott. He could have made a mint parting it out, but insisted it stay whole. I actually claimed it last Fall and was just now able to go get it. It was WAY nicer than I could have ever hoped for for sure. Cheers my Friend! Zip~
It works like a charm Bob. Much easier than pulling the whole back half apart to take the tank out. A little positive pressure in the tank works every time. The only time it doesn't is when there is debris in the tank that actually blocks the passage. THEN you're ripping things apart. I'm glad it worked out in this instance! Cheers! Zip~

Yes they are! The Bone Yard owner was VERY nice and super fair with his pricing. Even said if neither worked, bring them back and try others. If I do that, I'll just bring the engine with me and mount coils until I get a good spark out of one. Cheers my Friend! Great to hear from you! Zip~
