Years ago I came across a product called PRI-G (G for gasoline, they also make one for Diesel. At that time it was very difficult to buy. Today, it is available in many places. PRI-G is a fuel stabilizer that preserves stored fuels in refinery fresh condition for years. I know this because I tried it and fuel was still fresh after three years. And yes, I know there are MANY products out there but this is the ONLY one that has worked for me!
Got my Husqvarna ST227 late 2016 from Canadian Tire (asssembled by monkeys). Since sorting those assembly issues she has been a solid piece of gear with a minimum of maintenance. The unit can really throw snow (I did buy the plate weight kit for the front which helped with issues I had where the snowblower seemed to want to climb hard packed snow instead of bite into it). Last year I got rid of the original Torch spark plug for an NGK. This year she is getting new auger and drive belts, new friction disk, new interlock cable as well as a clean and grease. I also picked up the auger gear case support bar they started including in later models for a retro fit. Having watched this video I'm considering checking the condition of my fuel hose and maybe clean out the carb. My blower came with the heated grips (gimmicky) and the headlights built into the plastic console (and has the older engine design which I think my documentation refers to as a LCT Snow King). LCT= Liquid Combustion Technologies and has US operations although I don't know if that means made in USA. I didn't see those features on the unit in the video and the new engine design is apparently a made in China Honda clone. I hope Husqvarna hasn't been cutting corners in materials/suppliers on the newer units, I'm sorry for the owners of new models having troubles. If a Honda carb is better made I wonder if that is a useful swap for Husqvarna's that keep ending up in the shop? Thank you for a great tutorial! It was great to build on the bit of knowledge and experience I have from working on some other OPE... That tip about the pilot jet being the cause of engine surging is golden, I have an old Honda roto-tiller with that problem. I thought I had cleaned the carb, but obviously not well enough, time for round two!!
I was curious as well as to who manufactured the engine on this snowblower. Not sure if you looked at the emission label on the engine's blower shroud, but sometimes that will show the actual manufacturer of the engine.
It looks like the emissions tag says CHONGQING RATO TECHNOLOGY CO. LTD. From a quick Google search looks like a company that popped up in 2007 and they make (private label I am guessing) many different engines, atv's, water pumps, pressure washers, generators and other equipment. Good tip on the emissions tag, I haven't looked at one in years haha!!
As a Husqvarna owner, I can say from experience Husqvarna is my least reliable snow blower I've ever owned. They need to redesign the carburetor to make it more reliable. I've had starting problems since year two.i always use non ethanol 92 octane gas and doesn't matter. In the three years I've owned it, I've had it in the shop four times for non starting problems.
We use Phaser 3000 as a preventive treatment in ethanol free 91 octane and never have an issue. We leave tanks all the way full (allows for less condensation possibility) and have seen my own personal equipment sit for 3 years and still fire up and run great. We will be doing a fuel treatment comparison and test again putting Phaser 3000 (only fuel treatment that I have proved works) K100 and Formula X2 up against one another. These are all brands commenter have recommended and seem to have great reviews. These products all claim to prevent and reverse phase separation and keep fuel stabil. If you are getting fuel from and gas station that sells other greades of fuels out of the same pump as the ethanol free then you would want to pump some into your car first to ensure everything you get into the container for your equipment is ethanol free
Engine manufacturer?? Well, if it came with a Torch plug and the carburetor is pretty much a Honda clone, then I suspect it is Chinese made by Zongshin (sp?) Great video, really appreciate your detail camera work and explanations.

This engine looks exactly like the Powermore engines that's on the MTD snowblowers. I wonder if they are made in the same factory in China?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤷🏿♂️
Pretty much every engine out there for use on these is basically a Honda GX160 Engine clone. They change some things slightly but for the most part the same engines

Interesting
Very good explanation of everything.good job on the video and how to service fuel system and troubleshoot! Thank you.
Thanks for watching and for your comment!

Thanks for the videos man. I just replaced my gas tank, fuel lines,
carb and recoil on my husky st224 tomorrow will be the test.
Awesome! Would love to know how it goes. Thanks for watching!
All good now took it for a spin thanks again man.
You don’t wanna see the shape the old carb was in lol
Awesome job!
Where do you dispose of bad fuel ???
We have a guy that uses it and the really bad stuff goes to Safety-Kleen for disposal

Unless you fast forwarded past it, didn't see you tighten the tank nuts.
I see what you mean, looks like I cut it a couple seconds too short. Good eye!
Bet it's a "needed it yesterday customer", just got snow.
Yeah, last year during the big snow we got 48 come in one day right now we have seen maybe 20 today

@@IndRepairKeep up the good work. 😊👍🏿
How do you get we went all I see is just you
The worst machine I have ever owned. Junk. Bought mine in 2021 and have had it more needing repair than use.
All fuel/carburetor related or have you seen other issues?
