Sorry but that's not the only real offset smoker in the Europe. It's not even the first. At least two people in the UK have a Franklin offset smoker. I like the hamburger grill idea but no smoke. th-cam.com/video/l9zrW8nmHJU/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/F7v56i3SO4A/w-d-xo.html
The plancha - brilliant! Although I'm retired, I work part-time for a small family-owned backyard grill retailer/mercantile in south Texas. Why?... it's fun to see all the different cookers available today and the gads of technology that is coming to the backyard, but it's even better when I get to visit and talk with folks about their backyard cooking needs and dreams. My point: I'm not a pro, but I am in an environment that is all about backyard cookers and the whole backyard grilling scene. I get "first-dibs" on a lot of the new, neat "toys" for grill masters and pit masters. And this offset smoker, in Europe of all places? Awesome! Here's something for you folks in Europe, a notion started by a radio DJ in the US decades ago, Paul Harvey, who would tell fantastic tales and then add a fascinating connection the end. Harvey would close it out by saying, "And now you know the rest of the story." So, here goes: the DNA of the Texas offset cooker combines three significant parts of our proud state: cowboys (cattle = beef), oil & gas (steel pipeline - cooker), and finally Eastern European Czech heritage. It was the Czech's who migrated to central Texas in the 1800s who brought us the ancient method of "smokehouse" meat prep. Match that with our robust cattle heritage and the humongous oil & gas industry (and its myriad of pipelines), and VOILA!... you get the Texas offset cooker. And now, the Prins Offset Smoker brings that story full circle back to Europe. And now you know the rest of the story. Outstanding!👍
I am a displaced Texan living in Spain The one thing I brought from Texas was my smoker Its Fantasic it has a lifetime warranty and the meat coming from it tastes fantastic I know you will enjoy your it looks Like a Texas size BBQ
What a beast! Quality, performance and the looks!!! So glad you went this route and not simply slapped your name on some cheaper, knock-off stuff Very impressive!!! Only thing left for me to do, is to convince the wife to put one on my patio 😅
Great pit and we are glad pit master x finally has a proper smoker 😊 Very expensive, we are importing American ones to Europe for less. Let us know if you want to try one 🎉
Looks good and I look forward to watching you cook with it. My two constructive criticisms are that you need a heavier counterweight for the main door and that using the firebox door to regulate the air is dangerous for any children around. It would be easy to fit a regulator that you can open and close.
Nice design. Comparing it to that of my Workhorse Pits unit, I would suggest only one change. Remove the lip at the bottom of the firebox door for much easier ash clean out.
Great smoker it has all the options I'm looking for. sadly it's not a us-based company so i cant get it delivered. Do you have any suggestions of a US based company that's comparable with all the options of this pit?
Good day, been watching you forever and the rec recipes that you come up with are crazy. I’ve tried many of them and I love it OK one moment on the kudos from me…. I am stuck in what I want to purchase. This is my dilemma. I have reviewed the Komada Joe and the green egg and I had an offset smoker years ago when they first came out… The Kamada, Joe and green egg seem to do just about the same thing, grill smoke, etc….. just not sure which is a better construction. And for the offset smoker, did you get this offset smoker because you wanted to fill that spot in your garage not having one or what is the real purpose for the offset smoker compared to the Kada Joe smoker. Thanks for all your input. Thanks for all your videos I will continue watching.
I would say the biggest advantage is this smokers size. With the Kamodos, you are limited in that regards. I have a Vision kamado grill and love it... got rid of my offset.
It's a beaut' . Can't go wrong with Cortens Steel. One question tho: how do you clean the burnt smoke wood from the fire-box? Is it just opening the "front" door and scooping it out, or is there some kind of "trap" door underneath.
Those wheels look great but might not be the best if you are pulling it across grass or gravel. A large inflatable tire option might be nice. The fold down chimney is a nice touch if you are planning to pull it into a garage or shed.
Imagine if all BBQ manufactures listened to ppl, who actually use them. Thought through as I would expect from you my friend. Looks absolutely stunning. Congratz. :)
Eastern side of Europe have very skillful blacksmith's and they are making many thing for bbq - like firepits, smokers, outside grills... I live in Norway and order some thing for fire cooking special order from Lithuania... It is funny to see that some people have something very close but they better go to order stuff from USA and they are so proud.. i don't think that the quality is a problem, I believe that USA makes good quality.. but I believe that in Europe you would get much better price. And cold/hot smoking has very deep traditions in eastern Europe, so they now what they are doing...
Cool that you built your own smoker, but I don't know why you are saying its the only real Texas offset smoker in Europe, you can get loads in the UK. You have priced yours at about the same price as the Workhorse 1975, the Franklin put and the Goldees pit. Not sure I like the plancha being where it is, where do you preheat your splits? Also, I dare say the temp at the middle and the left side of the cook chamber are significantly different so you might've been better off having 2 temp gauges.
why is there no vent on the firebox? Would it have been that complicated? And will the Vent have the numbers on it like you have it? Seams a little scetchy, would be nicer to have it completely blacked out.
The firebox doesn't need 2 vents, the door is a vent in itself. Because of the heavy build the door will stay in the position in which it has been set. A smaller vent in the door would restrict the airflow too much. The scale (numbers) are on the damper, aka the top vent in the chimney. You can order the smoker pre-seasoned, however it will never be fully black. The black coating you see on some smokers is actually for furnaces and are toxic. So we don't recommend that.
On my old job we had a offset smoker on 6 car wheels trailer from USA. Unfortunately, one summer employee got killed when he light it up the wrong way with gas burner and the door to firebox killed him when it blew up. Now it is on a junk yard rusting.

Wow what a beast. I love the 8mm thick walls and the plancha. That's a great idea. Looking forward to the first brisket video
So happy Europe has a proper offset option. 8mm thick steel is quality. But that plancha, now that is genius. I don't recall ever seeing that before.
there are plenty offsets available in Europe, there are manufacturers here in the uk for example
You don't know how long I've waited for you to get an offset! Can't wait for the videos!
Eindelijk iets in Europa. Super. En dit is voor de echte smokers onder ons. Dit is het gewoon. Wauw
Saw this beast in person, I was really really impressed with the built quality. Cleverly thought out details all around.
Congrats looks great, can't wait untill you do a proper brisket cook!
great now need to find something like this stateside. the flat top on the fire box is straight gold.
Thanks, look up Mill Scale metal works
Yes, that feature is golden!
Having a flat top on a firebox is handy. I use mine all the time.
The flat top was a great idea!
Thanks
It's about time you get an offset!
Had to build it first, but its here

Absolutely love my Yoder offset. My favorite of all my grills and smokers. Ready for some videos.

Very nice...you can't beat cooking low and slow with nothing but wood.

Awesome... congrats, looks like a beast!! Looking forward to the cooks with your European spin and flare!!!!
Congrats and enjoy from Ohio!
Awesome work guys!😊
Leviathan pits UK. Not on the continent, but can ship from the UK. Also it is very nicely done.
This thing is a beast. Love it! Can’t wait for you to cook a brisket on it. Reminds me of a mill scale offset.
i have a bradley electric 6 rack best thing i have purchased !

My two constructive criticisms are that you need a heavier counterweight for the main door and that using the firebox door to regulate the air is dangerous for any children around. One of the nicest smokers I;ve seen. But is the grill door assisted in any way when opening and closing it?
Thanks, no it is hand powered and definitely heavy
Nice design. Comparing it to that of my Workhorse Pits unit, I would suggest only one change. Remove the lip at the bottom of the firebox door for much easier ash clean out.
Looks good, BUT where is the counter balance weight on the lid? Would be nice addition, at least for kids and wife 🙂
Can’t wait to see your first big cook on it, think beef ribs, brisket etc
We have 2 of these smokers, and a shop close by has 3 so no not even alone in the low lands.
You’ve built a magnificent smoker buddy. Now I just have to workout how to get it to Australia😂
That looks like a lot of fun

Nice looking unit and a respectable price for what you get. Only tweak I would make - bigger solid wheels - those wheels wont work on grass or gravel.
Boy, what a journey since your first video doing poultry on a charcoal kettle bbq.
Awesome! Enjoy.
Thanks 👌
Those wheels look great but might not be the best if you are pulling it across grass or gravel. A large inflatable tire option might be nice. The fold down chimney is a nice touch if you are planning to pull it into a garage or shed.

How does the plancha drain grease?
Hey Roel what a nice smoker! What kind of oil you use for seasoning the pit?
Really nice, congradulations
What did you use to season it with? Thanks from Canada eh! ❤
You are the master!😎
Is that chimney ABS plastic pipe?
Roel’s Rocket! Awesome!
I need one of these. Cheers

Very nice Beast. From pasted experience, I would build a fire rack in the fire box. In time, the bottom will burn out. Nothing is fire, Proof 🔥 .

Please make a Video with a 1.4 meter pig in your offset smoker! ❤
Yes
Nice 👍
very cool!
Is the firebox double walled, semi insulated or single skinned?
Single
@@PITMASTERX Thanks for the prompt reply.
Where does the fat and liquids go on the plancha? Straight onto the firebox?
There's loads in the UK ;-)
Needs 2 more true temp thermometers. one in the center of the door and one near the fire box.
Otherwise, this is a great looking rig!
Will you ship to the UK?
Yes

I'm from India. I dont think i can import this here. Is there a way i can get the blue print to this smoker please?
Oh man 👍 so nice!!!
But the price???
Greetings Bernd
I have found the price - for that beast really okay! 👍

Why not a reverse flow offset smoker?
