Oh no! Don’t tell me Genki is being picked on by her mate again. Between the three males, she can't seem to catch a break. But she is a survivor and a sweetheart.❤

5:21 I love it when gorillas get excited and slide across smooth floors like that. They all seem to do it when they get big enough to generate good momentum. Gentaro is getting good at it.

It's not quite as small as it looks -- it goes up for 3 stories and has several adjoining rooms as well as a connecting tunnel.

I think at that moment Momo got scared? Was the Foster Dad visiting because Genaro and Kintaro seemed happy and wanted his attention!

All of them pick on her, because she don't want to hang with them,as a group,a family and since she is old, she doesn't take up for her self, she just runs away and hides, they know that and her rankings are the lowest in the family,I feel sorry for her, she needs to rank just below Momentaro, since she is mom, and don't act scared all the time, fight back when they hit her and don't hide.

Gorilla behaviour is completely fascinating. Their whole personality seems to be based on antagonism. The act of hitting windows and doors to make the maximum noise, then run away and stand firm, with pursed lips.... they're SO attention hungry lol...and with each other, they can't help it - like it's deep in their DNA, that if one walks past, they MUST reach out and pinch or flick, to antagonise them (or in plain English, provoke a game of tag lol).

I too am fascinated by gorilla behavior. I think I see it a little differently, though, to me their be behavior isn't as much about trying to antagonize as it is about trying to avoid real physical confrontation or fights by intimidating potential rivals or threats. Instead of actually hitting each other they like to hit things that make loud noises or they pull on things that create a lot of commotion like trees or tire swings. I often find their behavior amusing in that they make such a big pretense and show but ultimately they're really quite non-confrontational. Not to say that they won't pull your arms and legs off if pushed far enough but it seems like they usually try to frighten enemies off first.

She quit having anything doing with him, if I was him I’d have anger issues with my mom too. I’m sure his feelings have been hurt for a long time.😢😢

Remember when he used to drum and clap and dance like crazy! He seemed the happiest gorilla in the world. His demeanour is like a different gorilla entirely now... he plays with Kintaro a LOT though, so that's good to see...and he's giving Kintaro the happiness that he could never have, with a 24/7 playmate.

Watch more, for longer, and I think your view will evolve with knowledge and familiarity. It's not really how you described, not at all, but I can understand why somebody could begin to think that - they just need to see more videos and broaden their understanding of this troop, and it's dynamics.

I think just about every silverback I've seen loses their sh!t at some point and beats up on a family member for inexplicable reasons. I've seen it with gorilla families in the wild as well. I don't know where you're getting the idea that Momo is such a despotic leader either. I've watched tons of video of this family and I can only think of a few dozen times that he scolded others and probably less than 10 times that I ever saw him go to the point of using his canines on others.

I know. I've been seeing so many ridiculous comments hating on one gorilla or an another. Seems that each gorilla has it's little circle of haters and people who seem to think that any example of imperfect behavior is the result of some sort of deliberate malicious attempt on the part of whichever gorilla is the object of their criticism.
