I was raised in the 80s and I remember when there was Hip-Hop love songs about Black Women. And the songs were not explicit nor sexualized. They were. about loving her, caring for her, protecting her, providing for her. With the potential of marriage and raising a family. Then Hip-Hop took that love and changed it to sex. Remember "All I wanna do is zooma, zoom, zoom zoom in the poom poom." We became a sexualized fixture in Hip-Hop. Shaking butts and breasts. Half-naked and willing to please. The price Black Women paid for that imaging is astronomical. Something should have been said back then. And Dr. Umar is correct. These rappers do not come to the defense of Black Women. It's a reason why they don't, though. Doing that would force them to take a look inward and that reflection would warrant a total demolishing and then reconstruction of their identity as a rapper. And for most that would result in a huge undertaking.
Stop lying! 80's rap music was about living in the hood and being raised raised in the projects of NYC because that's where it was created. R&B was love songs about black women! SMDH

Eminem’s talent is great but his music has always been MID to me , in his prime he rapped about killing his mom, baby mama and pop stars he didn’t like like Britney Spears and others, definitely overrated music and album wise , I’ve never listened to an Eminem album more than a couple of times before I didn’t want to listen to it anymore, however as a lyricist he is elite, Tupac for example isn’t as elite a lyricist as Eminem but his music is way better and I could listen to Tupac’s music till this day
i beg to differ. who said tupac isn't as Elite a lyricist....firstly if you listen to Eminem you'd hear that he has been influenced by Tupac. Secondly they have different lyrical ideas/styles. Check out a song such as trapped or brenda's gotta a baby, dear mama, keep ya head up, ...soldiers story 1 and 2 papa'z song, plus many more. I think one of eminems most unique and one of his best songs is Stan (a song about a fan)....... but that lyrical idea is totally different from any of Tupacs lyrical ideas.

Look at Kanye West, he is one of the biggest black rappers in hip-hop who went beyond mainstream in the industry along with others such as Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar. Not many black rappers were able to go beyond mainstream as there’s even a few white rappers who never made it to go mainstream as well, that many know who weren’t able to reach the caliber Eminem was on. Eminem didn’t just make it because he was white as he made it for how really skilled he was as many knew he could rap and a few blacks I heard in interviews have spoke on how he really nice he was for the way he was rapping that a few didn’t feel the same energy with Kid Rock and Vanilla Ice.

That just it there is nothing average about black men if it was then why is doing what we created there is nothing average about being black or this CULTURE
If Eminem was black he would be on the same level of Tech9ine , Umar right they only elevated him to this goat status because he white..
Thank you Dr. Umar. This needed to be said!!!
FACTSSSSSSS

Black culture should be defended. " We have to except everybody but no one has to except Us. "
Dr. Umar.....100% Facts....NO ONE stood up for Beyonce
Nigga yes they did. Black men and women did online and her husband spoke up at the Grammys or whatever award show that was. This lie is getting old and tired.
Eminem is GREAT but not the GOAT!!!
That not true lol There were a lot of big legends from country music that support her and thought it was wonderful that she was doing country.

if black people invented all music, then what is left for the rest of the world who isnt considered black?
You need to figure out for yourself
What Dr Umar said went over alot of people's heads in these comments. The man didn't say dude couldn't rap he just simply said he could never be the goat damn! Some people suffer from having basic comprehension.
its not that he is white or having a racist past(even though in real hiphop culture it does). but em is just not that good at making albums to be placed at the top. he is good for being white and dr dre pushed product. em has been releasing corny shit since the Eminem Show. he is a good lyricle miracle rapper but so are 1000's more who never got the attention cause they never sold their soul.
Music to be murdered by was that 🔥🔥🔥. So guess it is just cuz he’s white 🤦🏻♂️
Racist past he had one teenage song he made because of some stuff that was unfolding in his life with black people. But yeah racist past of him putting on countless black people some becoming millionaires. But yeah that dang racist. Sold his soul? Dang word. How so?
Eminem has never been more complex than Pharoahe Monch or Breezly Brewin
Damn Stan, you dont know how he sold his soul?
Go listen to 'My Darling' he clearly says it in the song you numnut. And yes he did put some black people, but he couldnt have done that because of guilt and being disrespectful right? @mikemurray726

Now I don't blame why kanye west did that mobbing to Taylor swift on his Award winning 😅😅😅
Black Americans started country music and several other genres of music. Everybody else just takes from us. Black people are great at many things and that will never change.

I think Eminem would even agree with this
He definitely respects the culture and he admitted he a guest
Eminem probably calls us all niggers under his breath.
He would, the problem is when they take what umar is saying a step further, twist his words and uses it as hate speech against eminem, as to say things like eminem isnt good, hes not even top 50 or top 100, or you never hear eminem is the club as to prove a point (when that only backfires when you consider that many goat tier black artist doesnt also,) etc. Him saying "eminem cant be the face of hip hop" yes eminem will most definitely agree, everything that comes after that, no, eminem would defend himself if he has to.
eminem would agree obviously, but his stans would defend him till they salivate
Y'all Better Listen, How Long Will We Be Bamboozled 😢
_DJ Vlad is a culture vulture due to his controversial approach to interviewing and his role in hip-hop media. Vlad exploits the personal lives and legal troubles of primarily black artists for sensationalist content and personal gain, rather than fostering genuine cultural appreciation or contribution. His interviews frequently delve into provocative and potentially incriminating topics, which many perceive as a tactic to generate views and revenue at the expense of the interviewees' safety and reputations._
_This dynamic raises questions about the ethics of his journalism and his true intentions within the hip-hop community. Unlike figures who contribute creatively and culturally, DJ Vlad's involvement is opportunistic, leveraging the struggles and stories of black artists without adequately respecting or understanding the cultural context and significance of hip-hop._
_This perception positions him as someone who profits from the culture without contributing to its advancement or addressing its deeper issues, thus earning him the pejorative label of a culture vulture. It would be beneficial for the black community to not just label him a culture vulture, but they see him as a true cancer a vulture a vampire._

Much love and much respect to all the rappers, and Dr. Umar Johnson who pointed out that eminem can't be in GOAT conversation.
