  • Here's Why The Honda City V is an Ideal First Car! [Car Review]
Most first time car buyers nowadays would prefer to get a crossover. While there's nothing wrong with that, getting a sedan like the 2022 Honda City V may be more logical. In this Filipino car review, we take a look at thy 2023 Honda City V and find out why it is a great car for the first time car buyer. The 2022 Honda City V offers a simple and straightforward drive, with the right amount of tech and convenience features that should please most first time car buyers. The 2023 Honda City V also has more space than the Honda Brio, which I find too small to even be a starter car. The 2022 Honda City V is as large as the Honda Civic from 20 years ago, and it also has the same power and drive performance as before. The 2022 Honda City V also looks better than the Toyota Vios, and at least the 2023 Honda City V is not used as a taxi here in the Philippines.

They last a really long time and would be a perfectly safe bet for any car buyer, fist time buyer or not. My kumpare had a 3rd gen City before back when we were still in college circa 1997, and we rode that all through college til we each had jobs, got married etc. That car was solid even until he sold it and got a 2nd gen Jazz, 16 yrs later (he didn't get another City that time because City was going through an ugly duckling phase, all the way to the 6th gen pre-face-lift). No engine issues with that car though and lots of barkada memories.
With the new City now, it's more mature, has a bigger space and classier even. There's only 2 PMS visits a year or every 10,000kms (although if you do make long drives everyday, I'd suggest getting the oil changed much earlier). Air-conditioning is non-issue. The only drawback I see and I'm just being nitpicky is yeah, the price can be above the regular Joe's reach and there's a bit of a supply issue (at least here in Cebu, waiting time of about a month or 2). Your best bet is a 2nd hand City, if your bugdet is tight but stick with the face-lift 2017 and up. Resale value is stellar, as well. At this time though, at 1M for a budget sedan, and so many other brands are also at this price point is crazy (but I guess this is the new normal) and that's why a lot are going the crossover route...I mean, for 200k more or so, you'd have a Mazda 2 (a lovely subcompact and that delicious Skyactiv engjne) or a Nissan Kicks ePower even which can give you at least 24kml (I've seen others do 40kml even) and a crossover and an electric motor driven vehicle, at that. The City is a top choice though regardless.

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade can be seen at Hyundai Pasig dealership, the pricing has been increased by P540,000. Still retaining the 2.2L straight-4 turbo diesel motor delivering 197hp and 441Nm of torque. Power is still sent to all four wheels because of Hyundai's HTRAC all-wheel drive system via an 8-speed automatic.

Although I know it is a no brainer City wins with engine alone. But I am considering the extended trunk space jn Raize when rear seats are folded. Ground clearance as well.

This is how a subcompact should be. Toyota may be reliable too, like honda. But let's be honest, their subcompact is rubish. Even the top spec variant.
Right now, either you go with city or almera. Everything else is just 💩.
Maybe the new gen vios will be way better. But it's not here yet.

Watching this video is deceiving. I don't know why the host "mindsets" this tagline that this car is the Ideal First Car. Not all aspect / angle of things to consider was presented when buying a car. Maybe its a paid advertisement. IF it is the case, then the credibility of the host will become questionable. ... Buying a first car is simply not buying a car. Newbies, have to consider not only the car itself but the many other aspect of having a car such as low maintenance cost, good after sales service and reliable engineers. Honda is expensive to maintain, bad after sales and not so reliable engineers.
