Terry out here doing the lords work! Great review of these 3 units! I own the Prime Go, and based on my use case I will stick with it. Love the streaming feature on the prime go, i accidentally discovered at a gig and was able to connect to my Dropbox folder. I haven’t had an issue with needing to adjust the eqs on the mics, my higher end sennheiser hand held sounds absolutely fantastic on the Prime Go. All of the cons you mention, are I mostly agree with. But the ability to roll up to the gig and rock a party completely wireless for 4 hours is a plus! Loved the review man, you covered a lot on these 3 units.

Great video. My thoughts are always the same. I own the PRO GO and i own pioneer gear as well. I have the same grief as you when you want to transition between ENGINE OS and USB. It was a deal breaker for me when the prime4 came out and hence i went with the XZ which i still own . A thing you fail to mention was
1.The PRO GO has 8 hot cue support .(double press)
    2. The PRO GO has a sampler mode with sampler volume (underated feature) but can be used for your DJ drops
    3. Ability to Jump in between different streaming platforms . You can have beatport playing on one deck and beatsource playing on the next.
The Denon Go is nifty especially traveling and on the Go . The PRO GO is actually too large to fit in a bagpack . I love the speakers on there because you can go and jam out in a park or outdoors no need to carry extra stuff. Omnis seems smaller than the PRO GO and thats a plus because if you can take it in a bagpack you can practice with some headphones on the go as well.
I havent used or touched the Omnis Duo Yet. But i feel you glanced over the day mode not covering the waveforms. It a big deal especially playing outside (IMO). I love the design of the Omnis. Clean aesthetic is always a plus for me and in white whole look amazing.(12inchskinz)
Once the Omnis Duo gets streaming i feel the bluetooth feature would make it less relevant and even a hard pick for alot of people. The Omnis is a great entry level controller but its not for me at that price even for a backup controller. The price will be the biggest hinderance for alot of established DJs and Old school Dj .
And for back up as well. The REV5 Is seeming like a great controller after all.
I have owned the whole of the Denon SC5000 and X1800 series and whole of the pioneer range as well over the years . Just my two cents .

Love it, ALTHOUGH after less than a year my cross fader is shot, one play/pause button is not always responsive and there is no ability to make playlists from a folder on usb or sd card without a computer....calling it standalone is an overstatements for this solo reason. Numark was notified about the shortcommings, but not sure if they will do anyuthing about that. Also inability yo edit the track names and line them up depending on energy levels or key (only by yearm bpm, artist name etc - basically stuff no real dj will use in real life situation)....I have told them about this shortcommings...let's see if they listen to custommers. For now my Numark is going back to Amazon for a refund.

Great job! I’m a full time wedding/corporate DJ and use Denon Go exclusively. Yes I wish the mics had eq but it’s not a huge deal and I need 2 mic inputs. Tidal is fantastic when the need arises. The aux input is super handy. With a Pro X case, setup and teardown is fast and the thing packs up small.

I hear ya. I own a the Prime Go as well, and use it live four to five nights a week for 5 months straight. Play/Cue buttons started losing functionality, cross-faders and up-faders became faulty, would freeze up if fog or haze filled up the room, I experienced many major issues to the point where I had to buy a second one mid summer. I love the Prime Go, but its certainly not built to perform night in and night out.
In comparison, I was previously rocking the original Pioneer DDJ-SX and never once experienced these type of issues.

The Mixstream Pro Go is the best out of all of these. I'm not just saying that because I own it. I own it because that's a fact. It has the best jogs, it does NOT feel cheap by any stretch. It has the Amazon chop, and the speakers are loud and clear enough that you could absolutely provide the music for a day at the pool or beach with no problem. Sure you're not going to rock a club or bar with the speakers, but its meant like a situation you'd have a boombox in, except now you can DJ and control the music flow...The Mixstream unit is amazing and I love mine...

Good review, thanks for making this. I'm watching this after the purchase of a Mixstream Pro (not Go) and was reassured hearing what I did in the comparisons. Feel like I definitely made the right choice now, no more wondering. Also, slight "correction" the Mixstream does have 8 dedicated cue pads, as do the rest of the pad modes. You can toggle between 1-4 and 5-8 by pressing the cue button twice.

Most importan advantage of the DENON is, that it is compact! Its footprint is exactly like a DIN A3 sheet of paper.
Considering HOW MANY user-requested Feature Updates were updated since the DENON DJ Prime GO came out, the price is more than worth the money. DENON added most important features and upgrades like meter volume for chan 1 and 2 (before it was only master volume meter). And they added a Sampler Feature to play one shot samples or full tracks from the sampler pads!!! I bought mine very late after it came out (end of 2023), and even till now (march 2024) there were another 2 firmware updates adding very useful new features and touchscreeen layout improvements that speed up your workflow!!! =DDD

Great video dude. Although you're gonna have to redo this video though when (if) Denon release the Prime Go 2. The first one was so good that even adter 3-4 years old, its still comparable to competitors new releases. Engine OS has evolved so much and is no longer a toy. Some nice refinements i think would be: USBC power delivery charging (hate the brick on mine) optimised fader layout, tiltable screen, optional (attachable) booth speaker... As long as they dont increase the size too much.

I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed Denon includes bigger jog wheels, mike EQ, and the same smooth integration with Virtual Dj. The inclusion of Serato might depend on the judge's ruling in the court case with InMusic. Engine Dj has become a force to reckon with in the past couple years. Hopefully, by the end of the Engine Dj Stems trial (I believe, it's still in Beta), Denon might incorporate some dedicated hardware buttons for Stems manipulation. Or they might go the on-screen Sampler route. 😊

In the current version of the Omnis-DUO you can not stream to a bluetooth speaker and read audio from bluetooth at the same time. Unsure if this is a hardware limitation or software which may change later.
Overall, if you are not planning to bring it to a large festival and play at home or small parties it is a quite nice board.
When using the bluetooth feature for audio input you can connect, then start a service like spotify and it will record it into one of the chanels. You can instantly use it into your mix.

Thanks for this comparison. By owning the Denon Prime Go, I agree with all your comments. Do you think stems will come to the Omnis Duo perhaps in computer mode since the pads right now are only hot cues? Also very odd that it’s a Rekordbox controller but no performance pads. With Serato integration in the future, the Omnis Duo seems like a possible future grab.

Great review Terry! I think so Denon units are much better units than Pioneer's [because of components]. Denon have better DAC's [AK with dynamics 110dB vs BurrBrown 102dB we can find in RX3]. CPU are better too in Denon - Rockchip comes from 2017, XR3 and other ones from family xdj have CPU MCIMX6Q6AVT10AD from....2012. In my home studio I got PrimeGO. SC Live 4 and RX3. Prime Go have one more serieous lack /besides mic EQ/ - there is no peak led for every LINE /even just one LED like in mic input!/ we dont know when we have internally distorted signal. Because of this is recommended to keep GAIN knob no more than 11 o'clock.. Regards from Poland

I had the Mixstream Pro 2022. Sold it recently after just 1 year and a half of service. Cross Fader bleed was the reason it had to go. Other than that. I really enjoyed having that unit. Still holding out on my next controller purchase till Rane or Denon release something new this year. Ominus is not the answer because of the price lack of fx paddles and streaming services. How do I get my serato tunes off old comp?

I think the Onmi's price is high for the compromises that were made. No pad mode, and no xf paddles for a controller that is squarely in the pro gear price range? For the asking price, no compromises should have been made.

Great comparison. I still would choose the cheapest out of all of them. The Numark has the best bang for your buck. It has everything I need. Not rocking with those tiny jogwheels on the Denon. And the Omnis is just not attractive, barely has any lightning to it besides the screen. You can never go wrong with paddle fx at the cheapest Numark got it right 👌🏼💯

This is a very accurate comparison. I think it makes sense for every dj to bring its own self contained controller. I do not understand why djs still want to play on a fixed dj system provided by the club or bar, just talking about hygiene, broken gear etc.. However, I dont understand why gear like the Numark go is not made for airplane transport. It doesn't fit in a trolley and on top of it the batteries are fixed. If I were InMusic I would sell a trolley for it that fits in all airline cabins and look for a battery solution. I think Laidback Luke has a point: DJs bring your own equipment if possible. All that cr*p about club standards is nonsense in 2024 I think. It was a nice marketing trick that worked for heavy gear but in this day and age lets move towards competing on features and quality.

    • @hvxcolors396
      @hvxcolors396 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@donaldsmyth727 It fits in your normal luggage. Just wrap some bubble plastic around it or some towels. You can try to take it onboard in a case, some airlines are not so picky about the dimensions. I use a normal Numark Mixstream with external battery. Batteries up to 100Wh can be taken on board of the airplane. You will need a PD to barrel converter from amazon (12V 3A) but some battery packs have 12V out.

Appreciate this video but the 1 thing that turns me off with them all is, none of the crossfaders are “end user replaceable”!! It’s 2024 for crying out loud!! Why can’t they just make this standard?? I have had the MixStream for a year and a half now and the crossfader is completely dead now. Bleed on both sides. So as it stands now it is a $800 paperweight 🤦🏾‍♂️

Totally agree on the crossfader, I have the Mixstream Pro which I love but even when brand new the faders are simply quite bad, and would also have loved to replace them, which sucks that it ain't possible. However, I want to throw out a tip which saved me once I realized it - when fader started bleeding and thought it was game over, I bought a DeoxIT Fader F5 lubricant, and it completely solved the bleeding, both on my Mixstream Pro and my Reloop Beatpad 2. Might be worth a shot. They are as good as new now.

What I think you (and most of the people in the comments) seem to forget to mention is the very compromised looping on the Numark. Maybe it just isn't a big part of most peoples workflow. I would have bought the Numark when it came out if it had better looping controls. Now I just ordered the Omnis because in my opinion it is the most well rounded device.
    Regarding the price:
Assuming it will hold its value like Pioneer DJ Products resale will be much higher than for the Numark, Denon Stuff. which in my opinion kind of offsets the asking price.

If and when Denon/Numark decide to activate Bluetooth I still don't it'll amount to much. The AKAI standalones which allegedly have the same chip sets have Bluetooth activated on those devices and all it's capable of doing is connecting an external keyboard/mouse. Will they do more with it? That remains to be seen.
