      @@mzwisdom7504 I would like too, but there are some issues that I can't really justify. The deck would cost several thousand dollars and it would be circumventing a 500 dollar pool. I also take my pool down during the offseason for added life span. A deck would also give swimmers the illusion that you can dive into this pool. Diving is ill-advisable; not only for the depth, but the length as well. Great comment and I hope this helps!!!

    I had a Coleman for 5 seasons and was genuinely pleased with it. Would still have it but will admit the last winter I didn't close it properly and it suffered damage. Replaced with a Summer Waves which I highly do not recommend. Just a tip when working wrinkles out of the bottom. Get in with a pair of socks on and go around the edge, stand with your back to the pool wall and jump while lightly kicking back. Be careful to avoid the support bars. I thought it sounded crazy but it worked.

    It's just about that time of year again. What I use to level pavers or even the sand base for any pool is a water level, simply a 5 gallon bucket set in the middle of your work area, attach about 25' of clear hose or more if needed and attach it to a 1x2 piece of wood, start at one paver and mark a reference point where the water level is in the hose, move the hose from paver to paver then bring all to that point by raising or lowering. As long as the 5 gallon bucket is not moved your pool walls will turn out perfect!

      leveling is so so important and likewise, make sure there's nooooooo stones under or touching your pool... cannot emphasize the importance of this... and, I would not pass up getting a tarp under the pool if one was not provided... and I cut mine as I didn't want it to be a breeding ground for bugs. where it would be folded up around the pool.. rain water gets in there and if it can't get out it is a big breeding ground for mosquitos and other bugs. I want you to know I am 69 years old and by myself I was able to level my pool with a 4 ft level by assembling the top ring with the junction parts and using pavers under the junction points.. I leveled from junction to junction and also made the center of the pool base a bit lower so the bottom was concave.. just a couple inches... but it helps … also in our area my pool being only 16 feet in diameter was a deciding factor in property tax assessment... any larger and my taxes would have increased considerably.

    Good review, and as someone with the Bestway version that has no window and is 20’ x 48” with the same color liner, same ladder, same pump, it’s interesting to hear what others say. I have the same issues with the instructions-they are terrible. The pump gave out after 2 months. I called Bestway, and they are sending a new pump, and they did suggest their sand filter as an upgrade because I asked what I could upgrade to.

    Loved your review. We are filling ours as we speak. The instructions really were worthless! Especially the pump instructions. Other than that I am in love with our pool. I was going to get the larger version but because of covid there is a major pool shortage this year. Took me a month of daily calling and checking my Walmarts statewide to get my hands on this one though since pools are sold out nationwide and online. I’m grateful to have this one and honestly it’s way bigger than I imagined so definitely don’t need anything larger.

    Excellent and in-depth video. Only recommendation I would make/add to your video, some people like to burry their power cord to prevent running over during mowing of the grass. Highly recommend not to based on winterizing the pool, the pump cannot be left outside. Heat/Cold temps compromises the integrity of the shell and the motor of the pump, even if all hoses are drained and removed, do not leave the pump outside.

    Good video. Having owned a few different Intex pools over the last several years. I can definitely attest to how crappy the ladders are. I was surprised though as I thought Intex actually was the manufacturer not best way. Guess it goes to show you do learn something new everyday. I actually went through in purchased this pool earlier today. This weekend I will installing it this weekend. Over the last 10 years I have probably had three or four of these pools. Ranging in various sizes diameter wise and in depth as my kids grow. I will say that for all of them the filters suck I think the last pool I had last year if I remember correctly the filter actually died and I upgraded to a sand filter. The filter that they give you is vastly under-sized and is noisy as hell. When are pool last year actually developed a really good week and I took it down I kept the old sand filter that I purchased two years ago. I plan on using my sand filter it is more efficient among other things.
    Going back to the ladder for a second if you have the ability to look on social media try to locate a regular above ground pool ladder. Rather than spend a hundred fifty bucks in a brand new pool ladder I found one on Facebook for 60 bucks and the ladder rungs folded up for safety. It has a wider base, and is much more stable.
    Great review. I really liked it

    Just to clarify about the pump, I have a 7yr old Coleman 12’ x 24’ rectangular pool, with exact same type of pump, with only 1 intake, 1 out.
    And on your pool, the right LOWER marked ‘B’ ports ARE THE INTAKE VALVES! Not Out! The ‘A’ port located higher to pool surface is the Out! That’s where the filtered-clean water from pump exits thru this valve on ALL COLEMAN ABOVE GROUND POOLS!
    Just a tip, I get decent pressure out of my pump, with some tweaks, I raise up the hoses you have on ground, level to intake/outtake ports on pump ..with bricks, to ease the water flow restriction in the hoses, by being level, and this ALSO makes pump run quieter!
    Good review other than that..that teeny ladder is a joke lol.. my old one even has a top platform, and I’ve even had men over 250 lbs use it!

My friend suggested to put cut some old carpet squares and put on top of the cement block to help.

    Bestway pools makes this under license for Coleman. I love my pool but my portholes started leaking. My advice, buy it at Walmart and take out the insurance! Live and learn. We had our purchase information and our pool was thankfully under the manufacturers warranty and the liner will be replaced by them, but 7 to 8k of water is expensive here in the desert... i wish i had a tank to hold it to replace the liner this season! I had my last Coleman branded pool for several years. I loved all the information in here about pumps, things i never thought of, even that others said in the comments! pvc for example... • @RealLifeReviews1
      @RealLifeReviews1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Last year, it did not. It was the standard paper filter/pump. As the summer progressed last summer, I realized that there were so many more benefits to sand as opposed to filters. Pressure/water movement is key to these larger bodies of water. Water becomes stagnant if it is not circulated. This makes it easy for algae to set up shop. Great to have you on board. Summers do get hot, here, in North MS.

    I bought this pool 3 years ago. First year was fine. Second year the windows began leaking. Drained the pool and used a silicone adhesive around the leaking window, inside and out, to seal the leaks. Refilled the pool and in three days, a second window began leaking. These aren't just little leaks--water gushing out all over. This time I got JB Waterweld putty. It held through our short season. We didn't put the pool up until mid-July in 2019 becausewe were having a concrete p as d poured for the pool to sit on. June 10, 2020 This week I put the pool up and filled it. The JBWeld from last year gave out. I peeled off what I could and replaced it. That night another window that hadn't leaked before started leaking. I went to a company that repairs whitewater rafts and purchased PVC material and glue. Today I am covering the windows completely. From the inside, I am placing a piece 4" larger in diameter than the windows and sealing them off completely. Windows were a fun idea but they are not installed well enough to avoid leaks. I am hoping that sealing off the windows will provide a few more years with this pool.

    One extra tip to setting this or any other above ground pool up, is putting small flat stone blocks under each vertical support (you can get them at Lowes). That allows you to adjust the vertical supports to 90 degrees while or after it is being filled by simply tapping the blocks with a small sledge hammer. If you have them sit directly on the ground, just make sure your endurance is up or you have 3 other people with you to adjust them as it is filling - assuming you have pool water delivered, which can have a pool like this filled in 25 mins. And for the negative comments about such pools like this, just keep in mind that in REAL LIFE, these pools typically have a 3 year max life span. It's not like you dumped thousands of dollars into it.

      @@watchandjewelryloft4713 The liner is the most important part, so when it goes, so does the whole pool. If you want it to last long, just be very careful when you pack it up during the winter - mine lasted 5 years, but finally met its fate when a mouse worked on it while stored away and put a mammoth hole in it. If you never plan to take it down I don’t how long it can last. Also, definitely by the Intex 12” sand filter vs using the filter it comes with. Worth every penny.

      @scottkaribaderman6628 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@watchandjewelryloft4713 Not sure. I probably wouldn’t put anything on it. The liner is pretty sturdy. Most issues are because of kids kicking off walls or having support legs out of plumb. I packed mine up every winter and it still lasted 5 years. Just be careful if you do put the vertical posts on paver stones that they aren’t too close to pool. You wouldn’t want them to constantly rub up against the pool and cause a tear. Like any above ground pool, the longevity is based on taking care of it. But the 18’ one has worked well with us - even if it’s just me floating around with a beer after mowing the yard.
