When you said "Nobody has all the answers"....man you are correct. I don't have the command link digital gauge and I don't really need it. But I do want to be able to use variable trolling option. If I don't have command link or command link plus digital gauge, will the 6YG gateway still show all of the engine data on the axiom?
It’s crazy right!? You’d think this stuff would be laid out. But yes from my understanding as long as you have the command link multi hub (I’ll put the link below) you don’t need any gauges. Using the 6YG like I did you’ll have full control from your axiom. @@Tonygiooffshore Thank you for the quick response. Your vid is super helpful, great content and relevant. The Yamaha VTS switch is back ordered into oblivion so I am looking for the next option. I will let you know how it turns out. For future viewers: My setup is sea star (Dometic) hydraulic steering, Raymarine Autopilot, Yamaha VF115, with the end goal of using my Axiom Pro Yamaha screen to control engine RPM's for salmon/walleye trolling.
Hello I’ve got the Yamaha f70 and I have the nmea2000 hooked up, the lorrance cable comes from the motor to the backbone nmea2000, I’ve got the backbone powered and a cable running to the garmin comparable graph, Yamaha saids I need the multi hub and the gateway to translate the data to the graph, how does the multi hub and gateway figure into the system
Hey Tony, I appreciate for your video. I've installed today the same configuration as yours. Everything works the same as in your case but I can't see the gear data on the Yamaha page. Is there any way to get it ? My MFD is Axiom XL 16/F200XCA/6YG/6YC and digital throttle connected to Command link plus hub.
yamaha is telling me i need a adaptor and another cable in between the cable coming from my engine going to the multi hub, do have this, i have a yamaha f70.or do you have the engine data cable coming from the engine going straight into the multi hub
The only difference is with the 6YG you get to have the Yamaha interface. It doesn’t really matter but I wanted my display to match the Yamaha interface so that’s why I went that route
Good afternoon Toni, Thank you very much for your explanation. I would like to ask you: I have done the same installation but the autopilot does not work because I get an alarm "the satellite signal is weak" I think it is because the Yamaha GPS hits against the Raymarine GPS, is it possible? What do you recommend me to do? Disconnect a GPS? Which one? Thank you very much in advance, Best regards.
Hi Eugeni, thanks for the comment. It’s hard to say without seeing exactly how your system is set up, but yes I would try to see if only running one GPS works. If that fails you could look into adding an external GPS antenna. Hope this helps

Hi. What's the difference between using 6YG connection and Yamaha Nmea 2000 connection direct from engine. Nmea will be eay cheaper right?

@@Tonygiooffshore All data reading will same? I mean all data from 6YG same with data direct connect engine?

@@Tonygiooffshore Hi Tony, OK thanks for your quick response.
Why would you spend the extra on the box and not just set it up with a backbone nmea 2000 kit? Way cheaper and get all the same data?
Because I like the look of the Yamaha interface way better
