Yamaha outboard oil change and 100 hour service

In this video I show how I got Yamaha Engine Data onto my Raymarine Axiom MFD. I used the Yamaha 6YG gateway and interfaced it into the network on my Parker 2320. This same process will work with many other brands of MFD. There isn't much info on this installation so if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Enjoy!

Quick trip after school. Me and Kai head out for a challenge to see if would could catch a rockfish for dinner. We ended up getting a whitefish right away and headed for the dock. In this video we take our Parker 2320 #NoahKai to Catalina Island. We made the crossing from dana point and got a mooring in Avalon harbor for 2 nights.     Why would you spend the extra on the box and not just set it up with a backbone nmea 2000 kit? Way cheaper and get all the same data?

      You just call the “shore boat” on the vhf channel 11 and they come pick you up. Super easy

      Yes, there’s moorings available to rent. First come first served though so they fill up quick on busy weekends

    If you ran only the 8” does the music sound clear and crisp. They say it’s a full range but just wanted to know if I did only 8” full range would it still sound normal or super bass heavy.

      Yeah it’s super crisp, I actually have my 6.5’s running off the head unit only no amp so I really only hear the 8’s and they’re perfect

    10:30 I simply used the 2 90 deg fittings that are in the back of the steering helm and put them on the pump. The kit from Sitex comes with one straight fitting for the return line reservoir . Didn't need to go to Home Depot for 3 extra fittings for the 150 with kit..

      Thank you! It’s really easy honestly I just T’d the lines of the main helm as well as the compensator line. You can get the T’s from Seastar or really any marine shop will mostly have them

      Honestly it’s really hard to find the second station controls for the legacy DEC controls. If you already have the helm master it would be easy as you can purchase a kit. The easiest and best but also most expensive would be to switch your main helm to the helm master and add the second station as well. I got lucky and was able to purchase the legacy 6x6 controls from a buddy who was upgrading to the helm master system.

      Thanks Tony. I am gathering options on what kind of second station I am going to install. I am leaning forward to just add a tee to the mail hydraulic lines and just move my kicker control from the main helm to the rear.

      Hola! Gracias por ver el video! You can buy a rudder position sensor or “smart stick” to get rudder position feedback. I currently don’t have one and it works fine but it’s something I’ll probably add eventually

      I actually ended up finding them at Home Depot. They are 3/8” compression fittings. Hope that helps I also had a rough time tracking them down

      In the 150 Manuel the are calling the fittings 1/4 BPT to 1/4 NPT male adapter my sea star hydrolic helm is 1/4 NPT was you system ORB .

    Awesome spot in Avalon. Love the chimes on the hour. I was that age 60 years ago our family took the steamer over many times. My boys and I have had many good times fishing as well over time. Ps. Me and the Mrs. have had some romantic times without the kids.

    Hey Tony, I appreciate for your video. I've installed today the same configuration as yours. Everything works the same as in your case but I can't see the gear data on the Yamaha page. Is there any way to get it ? My MFD is Axiom XL 16/F200XCA/6YG/6YC and digital throttle connected to Command link plus hub.

    I only have an NMEA2k system in my boat and will have no other raymarine equipment aside from this autopilot. Do I need to order the seatalk network switch to make the autopilot work? Or did you only need that because of your raymarine MFD?

      Yeah your NMEA 2k will work I only used it because a lot of my components are already tied into the sea talk network

    how was the water ? i got a 2022 19ft bayliner, ive never been in ocean before but ive been wanting to try catalina, any advice ? not gonna lie im scared lol

      That’s awesome! Honestly it’s not bad just pick a day with good weather and minimal swell. Plug in your gps and you’ll be good. Maybe try a couple small trips first to get comfortable. It’s a blast though

      @@robertmahe6231 that’s a great idea get someone to “buddy boat” with you a cross. I would recommend picking a day with seas less than 3’ and long period greater than 10 seconds

    Can you tell a big difference between the 6.5's and the 8's? I just ordered two pairs of 6.5's but was on the fence about getting one set of each.

      Sorry for the delay. Yes the 8’s have way more bass. I’m really glad I went with both. Sounds like I have a sub hooked up

      No worries. I went with four 6.5's because I already had holes for them and I couldn't be happier for the money. Plenty of volume even while running my pontoon with a 115 4 stroke.
