While Chris didn’t write this, he is a great writer. That’s how he started. He suffers stage fright. He watches his wife to calm him down. He started performing at the request of his wife…every great man has a great woman yall. 💥❤️🎶🔥🙌🏻
Was originally David Allan Coe, then George Jones. I don't support Allan coe. But I'd love for them to listen to the Steeldrivers (Chris was their singer for a good while).
I respect him even more because he worked to become relevant. Small shows, clubs, bars. No tik tok or fake stuff. Chris is as real as they come in 2023. God Bless you CS.
Can we just take a minute to acknowledge Morgan. Chris is arguably one of the greatest singers of our time and Morgan can hold her own signing along side him. Makes you wonder what she could do as the lead on her own song.
Exactly!! Just because someone is from the South or wears a cowboy hat does not make an specific song country. I have to push back on the people who say the Allman Brothers are Southern Rock--because of where they are from or the slight accent, but they are almost straight blues--and they would tell you that to your face.
I have to agree with the younger dude, older country music and blues are a mirror image of one another. Both genres are great storytelling of regular blue collar people and their struggles. Songs about love, family and the lord. It’s a shame that their fan bases are often at odds with one another. New country music is NOT even close to classic country music.
My daddy told me years ago music unites us all if you allow it...to me the blues is the black country music and country is white blues music...its all about where your raised...lol I probably didn't express it correctly hope it's taken like I mean.
The blues began in the Mississippi Delta. I grew up in Memphis and this is the sound of Memphis that influences country music. Country music includes rock, blues, and bluegrass.
Yes I have CCR is one of my favorite bands I grew up listening to CCR and a lot of other great 60’s and 70’s bands and I do not think that it would be a good sound for Chris to do anything of CCR and the song Tennessee whiskey is a song that should be left to George Jones or David Allan cole this is my opinion. 😊
Welcome to The Chris fan club. He has so many good songs- most that that he has written. "Sometimes I Cry" @ the Bing Lounge, "I was Wrong" Austin City Limits performance, "Cold" CMAs, "Death Row" Wanna Get Stoned" are some good ones to start with. Covers "This Is A Man's World" live, "Whipping Post"
Bros, you got to see him do james brown its a mans world. He tears it up. Also whipping post by the Allman Bros. Its such fire it even killed smokey the bear!
It's great to know you love listening to Chris he's a great songwriter and singer, husband, and father very humble man. Kindly listen to him singing Cold.
Mr. Older Black Man in the middle of the screen - you and I are groovin'. Your reaction matched mine 100%. You're hooked into the same universe that I am. 👍
Brother man in the middle was vibing so cool had me doing it,his smile was just as powerful ❤ loved his reactions made me feel good.thank you for sharing.
I've watched several reaction channels. Chris Stapleton has been at the forefront of a lot of them. Bringing people, no matter the background, together. Great reaction!!😊
Chris Stapleton is a Musician's Musician. 'Nuff Said. Thank you guys for your channel! Seems like always dong the right thing. I know you two Greybeards had some grounding in real blues and in old-time R&B -- it shows. Cheers!
No matter what kind of music you like...when we hear someone with true talent, it doesn't matter the genre of music, we recognize talent, soul, passion, and authenticity. This song is reminiscent of the love songs of the 60s and 70s (Motown) in which they sing of what love does for them. It's not like music of today which is more about sex. Listen up youngsters, if you want a woman to be hot for you, then play them songs like this one. Most people in the USA consider Chris Stapleton as a country singer, but he is so much more! This man sings with soul, passion, and pure heartbreak. He has pure Soul in that gritty voice with an incredible blend of Country, Blues, R&B, and even some jazz drumming from his drummer. Loving the band, especially the harmonica. I think all music would be improved with the addition of a harmonica but that's just me. His runs are all different, and yet, each sounds amazing. I am not much a fan of country music but this man will bring me to country singing like that. There is another country, R&B combo that hits me in the heart and soul. Please listen to it and do a reaction, I think you'll love it. "Conway Twitty ft. Sam Moore - A Rainy Night in Georgia". You'll love me after listening to it.
George Jones sang this back in the day. I love the way Chris does it so much better. I was raised on the George Jones version. My momma was a huge country and western fan.
He can (and has) sung in almost every genre and knocks it out every time. Albums are great, better live, just about no “filler “ songs! Suggestion: “I Was Wrong “ from same concert (and yes, he sings Gospel too!).
Hell to tha yeah guys...all geahandras change over time.."or however you spell it"..but country..with there stories..and blues..with there soul..will forever stand the test of time..and that's why they are integrated..they from the same place..different. But..similar..and sure do sound GOOD together...62 year old former marine from south carolina
There's a great little video on YT where Chris Stapleton is in the audience at a Tyler Perry show. He get's up and sings a little Tennessee Whiskey! Also gotta check out Chris' - I Was Wrong! I recommend studio version first then the live.
There's nothing like an outstanding performance, live. I believe I read where this performance was named the "Diamond" award for Tennessee Whiskey by the Country Music Association (or something like that). It was the performance to which all others are held to standard. It's the best! Thank you!
Also, pretty sure he was from Louisville, Ky., was only in Nashville a few weeks & began as a song writer, then shortly thereafter joined in a band. History in the making.
@@dollcf6722 Yeah, I knew about the Steeldriver band, and sit ins on others, but after this post I went back to see the area they were from. The article didn't say if his wife was also from his home town, not that it matters, but since it's such a beautiful romance and love between them, it would have been nice if the article could have been more detailed on her life as well. She's pretty awesome in her own right too. I think their children will also be a gift to masses, if they should so choose to be.
Great reaction on Chris from all three of you guys. I have to agree it sounded like Soul/blues to me, but with a country twang. Made for a beauitiful mix. Really enjoyed your thoughts thank you.
@THISISITReactions Great reaction! Just sub’d! I hope you guys react to Chris’s performance at “2021 CMA Awards “Cold”! It’s 🔥. Also his performances “I Was Wrong (Austin City Limits) 6-7 minute version where he plays epic guitar solo at the end! And “Sometimes I Cry (Bing Lounge)” performance!! Chris is blues, soul, R&B, a lil rock &Outlaw Country all in one amazing voice! He’s in his own genre!!! He writes all his own songs unless he sings a cover! He’s a living Legend!! Thanks
For another great Blues band, I recommend the Allman Brothers. Solid BLUES! One Way Out from Live At the Fillmore. They are one of the most iconic blues bands of all time. ❤
This is definitely country music, with a little soul added in, and you’re right new country sucks I don’t even listen to it, the old style country is now called americana, check out that genre.😊
It’s Beautiful that Urban-Community Reactors are destroying the stereotype and judgement of Country Music! FYI - Austin City Limits - Everyone brings their A-Game

And she can sang!
This is a original david Allen coke song
You should do reaction to Chris Stapleton sometimes I cry.
Thank you guys for not stopping the song and hearing it all the way!
I respect him even more because he worked to become relevant. Small shows, clubs, bars. No tik tok or fake stuff. Chris is as real as they come in 2023. God Bless you CS.

She can saaaannnggg
She is fantastic on her own and also compliments Chris perfectly.
Morgane has a cover of You are my Sunshine that is fantastic.
@@jodidavis1178 Thanks I will check it out.
Don't let anyone fool you into thinking that this is a Country song. It is Straight Up Blues. Period. It is a Great song!!

That isn't country! That is soul music.
I know that's right!
I agree 100%
This is the Mississippi Delta Blues music influence in country music.
Country music and soul music ....there both of similar back grounds .
I love Chris but I really love his wife for being his anchor and calming his anxiety by singing with him both very beautiful strong soulful voices❤
I have to agree with the younger dude, older country music and blues are a mirror image of one another. Both genres are great storytelling of regular blue collar people and their struggles. Most country music performers are unabashidly Christian and celebrate their faith...
My daddy told me years ago music unites us all if you allow it...to me the blues is the black country music and country is white blues music...its all about where your raised...lol I probably didn't express it correctly hope it's taken like I mean.
@@coonshine1 yeah…..? Was there something in my comment that suggested otherwise?
Country music is white folk soul music. Proves that we have way in common than they tell us.
Truth is, it is blues with faint echoes of country
Chris and his wife have 5 children. You know there has got to be some great talent in at least one of those kids!
His wife said in an interview how she feels about him writing songs for her, and she said, "Well, I stay pregnant all the time." 😆
Your enthusiasm is so infectious. This is how the world should be - see talent, enjoy talent, no agenda.
The blues began in the Mississippi Delta. I grew up in Memphis and this is the sound of Memphis that influences country music. Country music includes rock, blues, and bluegrass.
Welcome to Chris' World. His rendition of the anthem is one of the best .....
Chris is a blues man at heart.
The boy got pipes!
The boy can sing! Even if you listen to his bluegrass band The Steeldrivers (sp) his talent is undeniable.
Twang? In THAT performance? Dude, that straight up gospel soul singing right there.
Wouldn’t Chris Stapleton be amazing doing “I put a spell on you” CCR style.
No
@@donnierichardson2309 have you heard John Fogerty sing? He and Chris have very similar range and style.

Listen to George Jones sing Tennessee Whiskey and let me know what you think.
More Chris live please!!!!
Chris his own genre! 🔥
This is like 1% country 99% blues
You all need to hear him playing our National Anthem at 1/2 time. Best version next to Whitney Houston. Love how he let the lyrics shine.
I discovered Chris Stapleton right here on youtube. Watching reactions. I'm a fan. Big time!! ❤❤❤✌️
You did not f anything up! It's all good!
"Cold" at the CMA awards, incredible performance!

All of what you said 100%!
You need to hear him sing “Death Row”. A wonderful blues sound and his personal favorite
If you ever get a chance to see him live. Do it! He is amazing.
I really like JT and Chris Stapleton, Say Something. It's really good!
My guy in the middle loves that "warm as a glass of brandy" line lol
I love all of his music. I love Cold, Death Row oh heck all of them.
Bros, you got to see him do james brown its a mans world. He tears it up. Also whipping post by the Allman Bros. Its such fire it even killed smokey the bear!
Need to let them hear Chris sing........ It's a man's world 🌍
Chris is amazing 🔥 ❤❤
Chris is not country. He is his own genre mix of blues and rock. He just wears the hat.🤷♀️😜😎
It's the Blues ❤
He has a couple 420 friendly songs, “Might as well get stoned” and “Them stems”. I’m going to see him live in July!
Always a good show. Just caught em here in Illinois. Marcus king and war and treaty opened. Killer
You need to listen this song with just Chris and his guitar. Absolutely amazing.
I saw him in Raleigh last summer. He is a once in a lifetime type of talent
This is an old country song! Old country is the best type of country music.
I love Chris! A voice for the ages! Any song!
It's great to know you love listening to Chris he's a great songwriter and singer, husband, and father very humble man. Kindly listen to him singing Cold.
You don’t want that song to end, just keep playing pls. ❤️

First time hearing Chris but heard others sing this song, so had to check out the original, and not disappointed! I agree doesn't not sound country.

In Constant sorrow its a good song
that’s his wife singing backup too!
Awesome wow
All 3 of you are AWESOME!! What a great channel, greetings from Southern California.
Just listed to TPain both are very good but I gotta say Chris Stapleton
This is based off of Etta James “I’d rather go blind” soul for real !
Straight Blues!
Anxious to see y'all react to some more Chris. "Cold" at the CMAs please.
If I'm in not mistaken, his wife was in her 8th month of pregnancy with their 5th child as well in this video.
