    Hi Bilikis, I've been trying to learn how to draft a bodice for a long time now, and have watched lots of demonstrations by many, many TH-cam teachers. I've never had any of my patterns work out. The neck and shoulders never fit me.
    You are the first teacher to point out that the back shoulder slope isn't the same as the front!!!!! The very first!!!! This is going to make a big difference for me.
    So many of the YT teachers say that the length of the armseye is the same in the front as it is in the back. LOL Now I know this can't be correct. The back armseye has to be at least
    1/2" longer!
    Girl, you've made my YEAR!

      True but in commercial patterns the front and back arm is the same and lines up perfectly but it doesn’t fit well so this did solve problem

      @@southernicedtea9925 Thank you for pointing out this adjustment for the front and back armseye.
      It is a great modification for commercial patterns. Lazy patterns are a curse.

    Thank you for this follow up. Most other channels don't do so, and clearly, it's not a 1:1 when applying the measurements, with darts and all.

    Thanks for the great tutorial but a quick question do you add seam allowance on the armholes?

  • @peachesdaley5271
    @peachesdaley5271 ปีที่แล้ว

    is it ok if I use my upper chest measurement on the chest line for my armhole curve because there's a big difference between my side seam and my armhole curve

    Awesome ma'am...
    . But please ma, my shoulder is 17÷2=8.5... then my arm hole= bust 46/6+1.5= 9.2..... The shoulder and the arm hole are not the same. What do i need to do ?
    From your illustration .. your shoulder is 17÷2= 8.5 and your arm hole is bust 42/6+1.5=8.5..... in this case your armhole anf your shoulder are the same.

    • @bilikissignatures
      @bilikissignatures  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not a must that they are the same. Mine is just coincidental. Use the measurements you got.
