      I definitely would’ve attempted to do this stuff myself if I had a garage space and tools, someday it’ll happen. Thanks for watching!

    True heat testing is just sitting with the air on.
    Something you will notice if you sit for awhile, then turn it of, is when you come back to start it, it runs crappy, it’s called heat soak, it’s just cuz after you turn it off, the heat just sits in there and can’t escape, you can elevate the hood or just do vents in the hood.
    Fun stuff. Easy once you know it all, I’m sure you already know those things.

    • @KCars

      Looks like I was getting some heat soak then. Appreciate it!

    I'm not aware of a tensioner Pulley on these motors. Gad you got it fixed. OEM parts do raise repair costs.

    • @KCars
      @KCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was a little confused about the tensioner pulley as well, I think they said that some models had a pulley and some models had the kind of tensioner that works by loosening and tightening a screw. I wanted to stick with OEM parts because I’ve heard that’s the best way to go with these things. Thanks for watching!

    Cool Jeep. I miss driving mine as a daily (new company Truck). I have a new head liner just waiting on cooler weather, 106 today. I painted my end caps after watching a Vid on here and they came out perfect, but they only lasted a year or so.

    • @KCars
      @KCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I thought about painting the end caps but I figured getting brand new ones would be a more permanent solution and look more OEM, thanks for watching!

    ive been looking at the 4 hole injector upgrade for my XJ, never knew anything about the 12 hole injector upgrade. now you got me questioning what i should do haha

    • @KCars
      @KCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t really looked into it at all but I’ve heard of some people doing the 12 hole ones as well

    • @mattshafer6644
      @mattshafer6644 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Go with 4 hole injectors, you will actually run into issues with the 12.

    • @xIrHaxor
      @xIrHaxor 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mattshafer6644 thanks for the info, from what I've seen the 12 hole injectors only seems to "work correctly" with a cold air intake setup. Just what I read on the XJ forums not sure if it's credible.

    • @mattshafer6644

      @@xIrHaxor that and some people had to reprogram their pcm as well, ( not 100% sure why) but was told that the pcm wasn't excepting the new injectors and wouldn't set the fuel mixture correctly.

      @@mattshafer6644 hmm interesting, i was originally planning on doing the 4 hole to begin with, the 12 hole looks annoying pre 99 with the wiring and what not which mine is a 96. unless i see someone with a pre 99 do the swap with no issues ill probably do the 4

    Yeah the electric fan working on these is insanely important. I just replaced mine again, literally super important and crazy how sensitive these are to one single cooling item not being up to par.

    • @KCars
      @KCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely made a noticeable difference after I replaced mine as well

  • @jdssurf

    I never thought of the rust from the hose spring, you damn well don’t want bits of spring going through the cooling system damn

    Have you tried driving the Jeep in 4 low in trails at only 3-5 mph, that’s a real test.

    U don't need a head gasket unless it's blown, and it ain't blown or it would be missing or steam out the exhaust that's just a mechanic trying to make money !!!!
