Whoa, just spotted the criticism of the gin blossoms and a claim of 'not punk' - as an original Belfast, Northern ireland, punk, punk is not about look, style, clothes, music etc., it's a state of mind, it's about thinking for yourself, it's about having the balls to stand up to the established beliefs and say that this is stupid and needs challenged - punk is a state of mind - it's not about anarchy, it's about challenging the status quo - the gin blossoms matter because they talked about REALITY and kept some real punks alive, myself included during our darkest days

Punk is Punk ( Pistols, Bad Religion, Seven Seconds, etc etc.) When you take a punk attitude into the music and infuse it with country, rockabilly, and rock n roll, it IS no longer punk, but PUNK ROCK. So in essence you are correct, with the understanding that Social D doesnt perpetrate the imposters as you've suggested. They have and always will be a PUNK ROCK band.
