Kotzen is a pure feeling and he goes crazy only when he has to, while Gilbert also has a lot of feeling but he goes crazy all the time :D They are both amazing.
Ritchie's a killer player , not to mention he's been the " Go To " for all these bands that disband / fold or whatever etc .... he comes in a picks up all the pieces and get them back playing again !
Richie Kotzen was the perfect fit for Mr Big, bluesy soulful and highly technical as well ,the problem was he got in when the band was falling apart, however Get over it was/is still one of the best MrBig albums
I agree with Ivo, cause Kotzen is really soulful, before a few days I've just took the guitar and tried to play Static and it was so bluezy and fun and even the whole composition was so melodic and I felt so well and yes there are such songs with Gilbert, but the bluezy modjo is out of the box with Kotzen more than Gilbert. I can see now where Ritchie Kotzen & Billy Shehans downright scary talent came from in Mr Big .. I cant figure how I missed them during their career...Mr Big was a great band , with very intense driving riffs great vocals , great songwriting , ...unbelievable arrangements
Ritchie is excellent as solo artist... he's a full package of art, he can do many instruments, and he sings so well. But for Mr Big I think PG's sound is irreplaceable
I agree, Paul Gilbert has a very unique sound that is irreplaceable, and although Ritchie is a very talented guitarist, I just don't care for his Mr Big material...
