It's the Sex Pistols like you've never seen them before - the legendary punk band's
first-ever authorized live DVD, THERE'LL ALWAYS BE ANENGLAND , presents their historic
2007 reunion concerts at London's 4,920-capacity venue Brixton Academy.
The five frenzied shows (November 8, 9, 10, 12, 14) marked the 30th anniversary
of the group's only studio album, the notorious Never Mind The Bollocks,
Here's The Sex Pistols, which Rolling Stone has called "the Sermon on the Mount
of English punk."
Damn! I can't quit listening to this! The tone of Steve Jones's guitar is just incredible!
Same, man. A serious BLAST OUT
He's supposed to not be able to play guitar... haha...
Same as
th-cam.com/video/Gy88-5pc7c8/w-d-xo.html
It's a wah pedal set to the back position to give it a thicker muddier tone. #TheMoreYouKnow
Love you Lydon, but never realised how much until now.64 and moving on soon bro xxx
Who the hell needs the right words with a sound like this??!!! Damn, they ALL sound fantastic! Amazing what a real bass player can add( still love ya Sid) Great rendition.
Well rather Sid. THEN. Glen. Who just looks like CRAP always
The Moderns did at least 6 versions anyhoo ... words optional, it's all soul
Original Punks Will get together before we all die - that is my mission
John: I know the words. It was our high school prom theme song.
steve is one of the best guitarist in my opinion so there .
Guitar hero. Funny guy as well.
Famous for not knowing how to play, but everything he plays sounds good.
Ya man!! Steve kills it!!
YEA for 8 songs
Cant u see. He s just. WASTING time. I much rather had a 2 ND lp. THEN. This. Yes it's great yet. Fishy. Much more POWER in a 20 minuten set
Glenn Matlock is a fucking great bass player!!
should never have been replaced, may have been the square peg in the round hole but he had a little pop sensibility, The Rick Kids were a pretty good band. Sid may have had "the punk look, and the attitude" but Matlock bought the skill
@@nzstrawman Glen had a real ear for hard rocking tunes with great melodies, strong hooks, and interesting changes. He wrote a set of songs that turned out to be anthemic.
Glen Matlock a genius bass player and song writer. His new album is great
Sid taught him
Thirty one years after the first time they recorded this song, and Johnny still doesn't know the fucking words.
Literally just had the same thought hahaha
But he nails it anyway
@@dogsquadindiaYeh - It's better this way!!
It’s a Modern Lovers song they covered it 😂😂 Rotten doesn’t give af
He still doesn't know the words.
Powerfactorguy I think that’s the idea. “We make it up as we go along”.
@@lazyjesus6573 You ever hear this "with your radio on^ tj
Good look Rotten tj publishing LLC
He'd definetly lost that power he used to have on his voice in his early years, he sings weird af like a bloody fooked up sheep after be ran over, it's known as: "pil style" lol.
@@johnriskmad4627 u are so damn right
Excellent choice! Modern Lovers forever..
Best Version of this Song I've Ever Heard. I Love the Original - But This has SO MUCH ENERGY - THANK You Both Modern Lovers & Sex Pistols - This Old Tune Kicks Ass BOTH WAYS!!
Sick live best ever. Love Johnny......
2:22 Johnny never leaves a brother hanging :)
Yep!
Love him
How cool that the Pistols reunited! Thought for sure this was PIL
I have LOVED John since 1977! dx
I was there
Wow, what a performance..
I don't I've ever seen Steve Jones smile before, but here we are. This is a hell'a fun song.
OUTSTANDING - SIMPLY OUTSTANDING!! I LOVE IT!!
One of a very few songs where Steve uses an effects pedal. If you listen you'll hear it. I was SO lucky to see them in Canberra when they toured Australia. The venue had maybe 200 to 300 people and I will never ever forget being spellbound as I watched this iconic group, and Steve's leopard pants and his SLAG guitar strap. The blue LP Steve had for TFL Tour was sublime. He sold it to one of his very good mates who's a collector. Geez it was a beautiful Gibson LP.
Yes I remember that blue Les Paul...It was beautiful ❤️ he used it in Paris too...With the same outfit...
On Bollocks the only time an effect pedal was used was on Anarchy and also only when played live as well
Song was all over the fucking place but somehow quite brilliant...👏👏
Good to see Glen, the one and ONLY Sex Pistols Bassist! Without you Pal.......Nothing!!!!!!!!!
+Min 1066 Thats right some people tend to forget that Glen wrote most of the SPs music and all of P.Vacant.
So right mate.
Too bad he has all the stage presence of blunt toast.
Cathy Farger he could of been a beetle😂
Min 1066 still miss the good old gimmick Sidney though.
Thank you for having us, and being ohhhhh soooo kiiiiind!
Wow, a true gem
if you ever form a band, try playing this, it is great fun
Truth. And, just three chords.
BEST PUNK SONG AND MUSIC EVER
This is "only" rock (and roll) Punk..., on such a big stage and big audience, with a setlist and much buissess stuff behind! Lol! And the tickets are sure for free, hm?
The best they EVER sounded! Makes the original sound so weak. Steve's guitar sound is incredible. "We make the words up as we go along MFers!" Love it!!!!!
Such a tight band with Matlock on bass, Steve Jones so underrated on guitar brilliant 👍🎸
Best punk in the world
Fucking love this song...
Mi grupo favorito , hasta el final final!!!!!!!!
when i went to brixton 02 academy i was so emotional cause even if i was going to see another band there was the same place the sex pistols played after all those years :')
Great. Love the Pistols
Also the last song at the Sex Pistols concert at the Lokerse Feesten 2008 in Belgium
A classic number, and they do a great cover of it - fair do's
All these years and the spirit lives😍😘🎉
Great to see Cookie having so much fun at the end,the unsung hero.
El mejor grupo de ponk o punk.
radio once radio twice long live sex pistols
¡Qué buenos son!!!!!!!!!! Suenan fantástico y el público está flipando, grandísimo concierto.
Los mas grandes, para mi!!!! SEX PISTOLS!!!
Great Song
What a fang tastic memory
Sex Pistols, son simplemente Historicos
I was totally fuckin blown away .... AMAZING
I’ve always loved this ! Great band and a great song ! What else shoul we ask for? Nuthin’ - jon fisher
What a load of brilliant memories. John Peel playing the Modern Lovers. And punk happened and the whole world fouking changed 😇
Forever punk!
Every bit as important as the Swindle version
Im in love in the modern world
Awesome tune! He remembered the words this time lol! Pistols Rule!!!
Anytime you hear that Jonathan Richman and The Modern Lovers were influential in the rise of punk rock, watch this video if you have any doubt about it. John Lydon never bothered to learn much of the lyrics, but he and the Pistols got the energy part.
Old punkers got quite phat lol... Still legends
ottimiiii !
Qué regalo: Juntos ❤👊
Yypp this is something else 😵🍺🌊👍
superb..... x
I love this Song
Bonus track? Can play every fuckin' note. Belted it out on my axe, Dead easy chords.
I always have the radio on in the knocking shop.
So true
you gotta luv the pistols
Magnifico!
One word BRILLIANT. Barney Glasgow 😎
As Dave from Magazine said to Howard from Magazine to convince him to do the reunion thing:
"It's your last chance to be venerable".
Splendid view.
AWESOME
ruffled a few feathers in their time .
What settings Steve Jones is using I don't know but they give a really good sound. what ever the set up is with the rig and the rest is, it's good. It's a very nice harmony. Sweet sound. It might be the hall, maybe, but it adds to it. And it happens to be a very good song the rhythm fits it perfectly.
MXR phaser.
Marshall JCM800, Danelectro Daddy'O Distortion Pedal and MXR Script Phase 90.
It took until half way through and it took Lydon giving it away, but I finally figured out what was wrong. It's PIL, not the Pistols.
Drive past the "Knocking Shop" Lol!!!!!
Lol. Steve Jones' grin
Please do it for the fan set I'm dying here
WHY IS NOT THERE A STUDIO VERSION OF ROAD RUNNER IN TH-cam? :(
They Can Jam!!!
One of the most influential bands in hisory, ending their set with a Jonathan Richman cover. Malcolm McLaren was a genius.
Regrettably, far too few people know who Jonathan Richman is - but it that's life in the music biz.
I still look up Richman on youtube and Spotify. Not only the first Modern Lovers LP, but his tunes about rollercoasters, airplanes, ice cream vans.
@@BellsCuriosityShopThere's an earnestness, purity and innocence to his songs that you rarely see these days.
At 5 mins the boys plot and smile - they are going to wind up jon and go around again . Fantastic
"gonna drive past the knocking shop" 😂😂😂
I wonder how many of our American cousins understand what that means?
Ey? Do we know any other fucking songs that we can do?
Goddamn I love the Pistols !!!!
Shout out what how it starts whats the first line? 1,2,3,4,5,6...roadrunner roadrunner not arf!!
GRACIAS SEX PISTOLS por tan buen rock from Argentina ❤❤🌹🌹🌹🌹🎩🎩⚽️⚽️ Thank hoj Sex Pistols ❤❤❤❤❤❤😎😎😎😎🌹🌹🌹🎩
Götter des Punk❤
The best live version of this song is from pheonix festival 1996 in my opinion.
o vocalista do sex pistols ficou demente...
Sound has good has ever if not better .
30 years later and he still doesn’t know the words haha
Johnny was one of the great front men.
moltoooo beneeee
Johnny should've done it raw as fuck like his young self. I think he tried to sing too much here. I would've loved the scrawl of the original
What year was this
My God they sound fuckin fantasic and Johnny's vocals are awesome but why oh why does he prance about like an embarrassing uncle at a wedding? Just stand behind the mic and look menacing like you used to.
radio on......
Shout out what how it starts. Whats the first line?
am I the only one who hears....EMI......EMI.........good bye A &.....oh never mind the boll....oh errrr eh heh...You don't need permission for anything!!!!!!!!!!!! well i guess i will just ai eee ai eee ahhh step on a stepping stone... and ahhhh.... damn..... I just killed Bambi
Dead kennedy’s
You re right.......i can 'ear EMI as well.....😅.....was it too much to ask for the proper lyrics?...30 years later????😅
ModernLovers'1st Lp mainly demos record co. Shelved. Penned by Jonathan Richman the original obsessive geek Fan who bemused Lou Reed so much, :YeH you can open for us' which the ML did back then @70. So, Roadrunner recorded 72. I hadnt heard it til Pistols on $windle, etc. Xheck out Jonathan though. Hes a treasure of modern world.
Jonsey!
SJ killing it
remembers more of the words than 1978
Modern lovers classic Johnathan Richman tune
no mention of Jonathan Richman… no surprise there
I fucking love steve
