It's all about survival people. This guy started rockin after seeing the Doors in concert back in the 60's. Life has it ups and downs and it's a miracle that he's still around. He's a vagabond a street urchin who crashes on peoples couches and finds a way to survive. God Bless Iggy Pop and anyone who helps him out.
Iggy is 69 years old and still a magnificent physical specimen. I've buried too many friends in their 40's and 50's that "exercised and ate right" to explain how Iggy (and Keith Richards, et al) survived it but I'm sure it has something to do with Fate and Genes and good old Luck! I'm 58 and wish I was in as good a shape as Iggy is at 69...
i used to work in pro baseball and i knew guys in their 80s who were "young" because they got out to the park each day and were surrounded by younger cats...but i think rockers are similarly jazzed by their daily shit (see Jagger, Neil Young, Iggy, etc.) as long as they buy into the "sell"...Neil, it seems, sells $35 t-shirts at his shows but doesn't take on corporate sponsors, who the fuck knows? I'm 58.5 and I still get a pretty good hump on...
Yeah Iggy! remember when i was a kid late 70's he came to Holland to perform at Top-pop(TV) cause this was nr. 1, (he once said it was his only nr.1 ever..) anyway it was lipsync as everything was back then, but he broke the studio down, background plants and all, they didnt know what the f*ck was happening, but they did broadcast it, the look on my moms face...IGGY a true original, never sold out!
Godfather of Punk, an American Hero.........and God knows there ain’t that many of them 😳 Steve McQueen, John Wayne, Jimmy Hendrix, John F Kennedy, Donald Trump, Fred Flintstone........... Best Wishes From London !
My Mantra!!!! Mr. Iggy is now no more beatin his brains with liquor and drugs- did a few Wonderful Commercials about gentle Chinese Workout-still living strong after having such a LUST FOR LIFE!!!
Iggy is too good for this this band. I'm glad i snuck into riot fest with one of my favorite people to see Iggy play with Watt and the remaining Stooges. Unexpected mind blowing. We where broke, don't judge.
Wow! That just flashed me back to the time I was at Irvine Meadows and Iggy came all the way down off the stage to sing to me! I didn't know whether to take a picture or live in the moment! I must have just lived, cuz I can't remember a picture!
Em algum momento da minha infância ouvi esta música. Me acompanha até hoje. E o cara, ainda, se apresentando de forma magnífica. Vejo que os músicos que o acompanham são de diversas vertentes, porém, é uma música que, acredito, todos gostam de tocar.
The greatest live legend and overtones PUNK-ROCK music Iggy . With Stooges he achieved the greatest success at the beginning of the 70's. Each of his performances is a real spectacle !!! Love ❤ Peace ☮ Music ♫ ..... forever ........Music never dies † Long Live Rock`N`Roll ★ ^ Şupeřnovą ^
In the realm of rock this holds the position that the Eroica Symphony holds in "classical". This was a cliche before it was repopularized among youngsters who weren't born upon the first pressing. I bought the album because Bowie was this guy's mentor, older brother or sum such shit. I wish, w the Bo Diddley beat, I had a lust for anything like IP lusts for rock.
hes awesome he got his idea as a young kid to be a great performer because he saw a doors concert and he just loved jim morrisson he thought wow i can do it 2 go igggy u are as awarsome as jim was
as a musician myself, that hates almost everything that the mainstream media has shit out in the past 10-15 years, and is against consumerism... If someone wanted to pay me to put one of my songs in a commercial, fuckem I'll take it. It's not like he wrote a song FOR an insurance company. He wrote a song for himself and the fans. One of those fans just happened to grow up and work for a marketing company. Iggy didn't sell out himself or his fans, and he gets paid. Win - Win.
***** I think the drummer is Toby Dammit, aka. Larry Mullins. He played in Iggys band 1990 - 1999. He later replaced Scott Asheton in 2011 when Scott became sick.
@jdawg6893 it's not gavin harrison drumming here (unfortunately). GH toured with iggy in 1986. check this vid: IGGY POP New York 1986 rare live dvd T.V. EYE, CHINA GIRL You can see the young GH @ 1:43. it's hilarious
German Television Broadcast from Rockpalast Open Air at Loreley/Germany 1996/06/22, together with PLACEBO, CROWN OF THORNS, FRANK BLACK, HEATHER NOVA, PULP, IGGY POP, BAD RELIGION, DAVID BOWIE... GREAT!!!
LET'S DO THIS! I see Iggy Wriggly- -ing be- -hind the school blea- -chers plea- -sing Tea- -cher Gi- -na Key! I just started listening to Iggy Pop today, so that's about as far as I can get. HYPHENS FTW!!!
I think some of these guys with Iggy are his longtime band mates I missed him a few months ago he was in LA I couldn't really drive there alone, but it sure would have been great to see him I have an autographed pic of him This is such a fun show Iggy is friendly and adorable with the fans Thank you skitzo12 for posting !!
If I hear "I got the moves like Jagger" one more time, I think my head is gonna explode. SOMEBODY PLEASE write a song about the way Iggy moves!!! WAIT!!!.. then again, how could you explain it?... Come to think of it, I don't think there are any words or phrases contained in the English dictionary to describe his gyrating capitulations!! Besides, even if you could describe it, it wouldn't be as easy as saying "I got swagger like Jagger". I don't think there is a word that rhymes with IGGY!!!
4 years ago I was at the rainbow on sunset blvd. I was having lunch with my mom and daughter and who sits down to chat with us but iggy himself, he looked good for his age but he kept nodding off like he narcolepsy or something to many drugs from his past catching up with him anyway he was a fin person to chat with and even tried to get me out of a parking ticket, we got a kick out of his company- iggy if you ever read this I still have that red boa scarf you kept fondling!!!!!

Hitting like to your comment in 2024. And Iggy is still making it. Long live!
One of the mysteries in rock roll history is that Iggy is still live and kicking.
It is. Same for Keith, Mick, Ozzy or Steven Tyler.
And Bowie is dead.
75 today.
Yea pretty bad ass 💯
l love you Iggy ❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💞💕❤️
What a Rock and Rolla that's pure energy you can power a city with Iggy POP ... Great Song

Soul to soul .
But for the pictures shown in Google images 2016 i have seen of him, would it not be better, if he already starts wearing a shirt?
randy109 ....they used to cut the dope with formaldehyde.....explains the preserving effect on iggy and Keith.😀

I'm suddenly really hungry for beef jerky for some reason.
maybe because beef jerky is fuckin delicious
+Matt Elrod that's because you haven't tried people jerky.
+Peter Elios Ha. Not a wise thing to say to Hannibal Lecter.

Iggy est juste l'incarnation du rock!!! Magnifique!!!
No lights, smoke, bimbos, or backtracks, just music and mayhem, like it should be!
they sound much better live then their studio versions.
THE KING
Amazing! Go Iggy!
Iggy pop's a legend. Wild man.
Iggy shakes and twists as freely as he used to do before 2010. Must be middle to late 90s?
1999 actually.
Given how old this is, the quality is amazing. thanks Skitzo.
The Drummer here is killer.
il declino...
con il film "Trainspotting"...il declino,fava!!!
one of the most interactive people with his audience
He's a friggin' madman!(and a genius)
He's a strange one. I don't think I've ever seen someone interact with the audience like he does. Not my type of music but I enjoyed the video.
IGGY POP FUCKEN ROCKS!!! This one of the best songs I ever heard!!!
@skitzo12: I think your "I can't be bothered repeating myself" is a CLASSIC! Stands fine on its own! I wouldn't mess with it.
