I still remember that I was shocked in a positive way, and I have ever since that time been a fan. A fan of a child. I wouldn't believed it if you had asked me 10 years ago.
I have never been interested in the jazz music genre , but Angelina's interpretations of old jazz music classics has "opened my eyes" for that kind of music for sure, and in a way "touched me".
In the past year she has posted some great covers of modern music as well.

You have a new subscriber! Thank you for discovering and reacting my favourite singer. Although you didn't show the Judges's reactions, Simon remarked that he had never heard that version before. This was correct, as Angelina had rearranged it for the performance. She does this with many of her cover songs. Her fans call it "Angelinafying". At the end of the performance the first person who stood and clapped was Angelina's maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani, a well known and respected Iranian artist.. One her right was Angelina's mother, Sara Astar, then Juliette,her sister and last her uncle, Michael Aster who is also her Manager. Angelina received the Golden Buzzer from Heidi Klum, and went straight to the Final, where she sang Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".
My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7 year old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". What did I see? Well, it was a seven year old child, with wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were Baby teeth. And that was when the normal perception ended and things turned upside down. She confidently answered the questions put to her by a Judge. Declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. Gestured off stage for the technician to start the music and then started singing. The body of the 7 year old was still there but the voice wasn't. Or was itt? I was surprised then and that surprise is still with me, some six years later.
I have followed her career since I saw that first video on TH-cam and in the six years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz,Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers,like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Lana del Ray, Gloria Gaynor, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others. What is more extraordinary is that she takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. You will notice that she never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. And I'll add an even more extraordinary item for you to consider, to show how unique she is. She has the innate ability not only to sing a song as emotionally as the song deserves but to be able to communicate those same emotions to the listener.
As noted above, I have been following her career a long time and have listened to every interview she has given and every documentary about her and every performance she has ever given. What stands stands out for me is how a very shy and humble girl in her normal life, can be transformed into the perfect vehicle for the song she has chosen to sing, once she starts to sing.
Although the gift of singing and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. Most of her performances are recorded in her home studio,either with background music or a single guitar. Most are done in one take. She treats the whole thing as a hobby. As we would have said when I was young. "There is no 'side' to her" She is completely transparent to the world.
Perhaps you would like to go back a few years and work forward. By doing so, you will come to the realisation that she is "unique" and I don't use that word loosely. There is truly no other singer who has her versatility and sheer ability to communicate the emotions of a song to her listeners. I doubt there is another singer who works so hard to to ensure that, when she sings the song,it is sung in such a way that her listener becomes enmeshed in the emotions

I’m pretty sure she does have perfect pitch, in my opinion she is s musical genius, she is known to do all of her own arrangements since she was 7 or 8.

As to her soul, I am beginning to think she has a deck of 1,000 voices to choose from, uses her genius to select the one that fits the best for this particular performance, cues the guitarist, the ensemble, or the national band, and takes us to an unbelievable musical experience of her creation.

I loved your on-point reaction and short analysis of Angelina's performance. You will not be disappointed If you choose to follow her stellar career from age 1-1/2 to the present 14 years old. She is never nervous whether singing with a single guitar or accompanying herself on the piano, singing to notables, live to 30,000 or to millions on TV. Although she usually does covers, frequently much better than the originals, she has written three songs, done revised lyrics on many and performed three songs written for her or first performed. She auditioned for Norway's Got Talent in 2014 when she was 7 years old, and won it when she was 8. She is Norwegian with Swedish, Iranian and Japanese heritage. On TH-cam you will find more than 125 unique songs, and many performed multiple times in different venues, some live onstage and some in studios. She has two albums out and is working on a third, rumored to be all original songs. If you could only pin down one genre of which she excels, it would be jazz, but she is able to do all genres with ease and perfection. Her range is about 5 octaves with the low range ridiculously low and vibrant. She always makes a song her own, adding touches that identify it as hers. Yes, right away you mentioned Billy Holiday and Amy Winehouse, two of her favorite singers. She has covered many of their songs.

I am also a big fan. I do not believe that there is a female singer/arranger alive today who surpasses Angie! I listen to her every day. Her voice is soothing and she sings directly to your soul. No one knows how she can do that, even at age 6.

I'm kind of a layman, I like to sing but never took classes and I personally think it is easier to sing a Capella than following instruments... So I got intringed by your comment. In formal classes is considered harder to sing a Capella??

Yes it is harder a cappella without hearing the starting note and key and then to stay on pitch for the entire song in cadence with the original is astonishing. Angelina sang it perfectly. If you play the original alongside Angelina’s a cappella the notes are the same and she will end each verse the same as the original. Her timing is incredible.
@Bill Weekley Do you know for a fact that she has perfect pitch, or are you just saying that she is an amazing singer? I understand if you are, but "perfect pitch" is fairly rare ability that has little to do with your singing ability. The best singer in the world doesn't necessarily have perfect pitch, while someone with a mediocre voice may be have it. Kristin Chenoweth supposedly has perfect pitch.

All I know is that a comparison was made with the original of “I’am A Fool To Want You” and that it was stated that each note through the long version performed was on pitch and that timing ⏱ was spot on. I did not see the comparison nor do I remember who stated. If I run across will forward.
There is a video where Angelina is interviewed while sitting in the backseat of a driving car. During the interview she starts singing her version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" a capella and guess what - exactly the same pitch as in the performance above.
This is rather cliché, but 'you ain't seen nothin' yet'. She has about 130 videos online, including all her performances from Norway's Got Talent, which she won, at age 8, and even a short clip at age 18 months singing with mic to Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You. There is a reason why Angelina is Called "The Angel with Thousand Voices" as She literally never uses the same Voice twice, She has the ability to adapt her Voice to every song She sings not the other way around as most singers do.. plus her Versatility is unmatched it seams it doesn't matter what Songs Styles Genres or Era she Takes on She always delivers in my opinion Perfect renditions every time, While paying Humble and respectful Tribute to the Original song and Singers.. In those 7 years since the appearance on NGT She has Covered over 75 of the Greatest Vocal Artists of all time and Re-covered over 130 of their most Iconic songs and She really never goes over the fence where it's lowest like she did in this case taking on the Greatest Iconic song ever and did this.. Tears Goosebumps and Shivers are Standard reactions people get listening to Angelina Sing.

As a sworn Angelina admirer, this was a very pleasant video to watch. Since she was 7 and appeared at the NGT show, she has stunned me and touched me, and surpriced me again and again. Her strong emotional singing, pulls every string there is inside my heart and soul. There is no way to explain, or try to describe what`s going on. It`s all exactly like Angelina named her great CD album in 2018; - "It`s Magic". So even to her, the world of music and songs are pure magic. Pay attention to Rusty, he's one of the leaders of the club and is probably the preeminent expert on Angelina's oeuvre. You remarked during her performance about how relaxed she must be to sustain the breathy tone she used for "Bohemian Rhapsody". I'm so glad you found her. Angelina has a great fan base, who loves watching everyone react to her. Reactors get a big bump in subscribers from watching her videos. She is a Child prodigy and because of that its fun to watch vocal coaches react to her. My favorite of hers is at 9years old singing I put a spell on you the black and white version. I would love to see your take on a Child prodigy that everyone calls the Barefoot. Princess .
She is amazing. She did not win the AGT champions because she didn't need to. I really think that everyone already knew she is a star, she is going to have an amazing career and this competition just put her out there for the entire world to see and she became an overnight sensation with just that one performance. She arranges all her own songs and if you watch some of her other videos, like, I Put A Spell On You; at the end of the video you can see the look on her face. It's like she's trying to decide if she's happy with it. If it was good enough in her own mind. She just understands so much about music and has from a very young age. She is so smart and talented and knows what her style is at such a young age. I really hops she will write more of her own songs and record an album soon but I know her education is important to her also. She is just so mature at the age of 13.

Where did she get her pitch from? As far as we know: Heaven. Same with her Tone and instinctive coloring and vocal dancing around the notes. Also, her unique ability to give us the emotional feelings originally intended by the writers of the songs.

Nice reaction!! Many fans have been with her since Norway's Got Talent days. This performance was my introduction to Angelina in January. Since then I have listened to all her YT material many times. I have listened to her every day. Her nuanced or highly emotional performances kick you right in the soul. I hope you decide to go down this rabbit hole. There's been a lot of positive comments about Angelina and all deserving. I like the way she defines for herself in her singing. There are many great singers who can add colors to the original song and make it theirs. Angelina is more like an artist who not only adds colors but paints them with her own brush strokes, redefining a familiar song into a different realm.
I also like the fact that Angelina makes her own arrangement for her covers. In the beginning of 'I Put A Spell On You", she handed her director a piece of paper politely requesting changes to the musical arrangement. In a fan's channel, you can see the outtake videos of Angelina making arrangement changes. Almost all the covers she has done, you can feel 'her' in the songs - the passion and soul - due to her vision of the song.
The best thing I like about Angelina is that on many of her videos, she will end the video with a waving goodbye - reminding us that she is still a child who really enjoys what she is doing. We can all applaud her for her passion for music and compassion for charity, make not mistake, Angelina is an artist. Her paintings are not always perfect but they are genuine.

She wrote the arrangement and got a 'golden buzzer' for this performance but didn't make it into the final five.
She’s been doing since she was 7, she’s fearless. In some of the Norway’s Got Talent performances the music starts and she walks up to mike right on queue to sing. There’s a music festival in Norway that she sings at with 2 foot high stage that’s 6 foot square right out in the middle crowd with the supporting band and choir a long way behind her. I think she starts some of those acapella too. With regard to style, I’ve only her do this style at AGT. She started doing Jazz, but I’ve heard do country too. It’s not very often she’s not all in. Check out her version of I Put a Spell On You (Black and White version) it’s the most all in jazz your going to near by someone current, and she was only 9. It will blow you away.

Every way Angelina was supposedly wronged by AGT is easily proven false. Blame the 50 so-called Superfans, who vote on Champions in lieu of the public, for voting a rather medicocre dance group the winner.

Angelina covers many songs..... she has over 130 Songs on You Tube. She sings songs from Billie Holliday to current artists. Most of her music so far has been from older classics though. She can sing any genre and does while using different parts of her vocal expertise to actually changer her voice to some of the songs. You will never get bored of listening to her because she is a Kaleidoscope her voice has many beautifully colored patterns waiting to be discovered and enjoyed.

What it means is at 14 she's already on a superstar level with the best this world has to offer. No nerves, is because she's been in front of some kind of camera performing in front of people for 12 years already since she was 1 and a half. I'm sure someones already said her grandma was into Jazz and is also an artist, so she probably has her habits in artistry since an early age. But at 1 and half an knowing what you want, that has to be embedded somehow in her persona. The only thing keeping her from mass recognition is her age. Her mom wants her to enjoy her younger years as any other would. But I guarantee shortly Angelina will decide it's time.

On AGT Angie made her outfit from patterns of her grandma's art work. She makes several of her other outfits for shows & concerts too. She also paints great, plays 4 instruments & speaks & sings 4+ languages, English being her 3rd or 4th. Angie turned 15 on 1-10-21 & she’s around 6 ft tall. Angie is a very kind, giving, loving, respectful, humble & big hearted Christian girl. She always sings barefoot when performing & she wrote a book about it at 9 called “Between Two Worlds” & was/is the youngest to be published in Norway. Others will explain this or you can look it up. When you listen to Angie there are a few of her songs you'll need a box of tissues & you can even pause (blow nose) & start filming again. I'll give you a link to her 1st released single by Republic records titled “Million Miles” She wrote this shortly after her grandpa died in Nov. 2019, she was 13 & her other grandpa died in 2018. Angie & her grandma did the art for the (official lyric video). Angelina said, “This song is dedicated to anyone who has lost a loved one. I wrote this song thinking about all the great memories I had with my grandpa and how much it hurts to lose someone. I hope this song finds a place in you heart, as it comes straight from mine”. Stargate producer singer/songwriter Dakota posted on her instagram regarding the collaboration with Angie, said “This girls talent is freakin insane.” Angie has arranged over 130 covers & written 4 songs & had 2 written for her.

Angelina is at level of vocal artistry seldom if ever seen for a young one , besides her other talents , She is Norway's youngest published author at around 9 to 10 years old, she plays , piano, violin, flute, and guitar . Angelina does her musical arrangements and has been often observed directing professional musicians playing for her as to what she wants in a song.
she is always in command when she performs in a very humble respectful manner to band members. Angelina is like no other I heave ever witnessed in her many abilities for one so young .she touches one right down to their heart and soul when she sings.

Angelina had over 500 million views of her singing videos before her performance on AGT The Champions now her views are in the billions . Angelina was well known all over the world except in America up until her AGT Champions , mini concert.
She sings bare foot since she was 6 years old to honor a bare foot orphan he met girl around her own age around 6 years old whom had no shoes and had scars on her feet, she weighing people on a bathroom scale to support her and her siblings. Angelina at six years old took her shoes off and gave them to this poor girl, and Angelina has performed on stage in honor of the pledge she made to her not to sing on stage with shoes on form then on . TH-cam is an amazing instrument for discovering new talent! In recent years we (meaning the world) have been introduced to some many young female singers! Those that are under 21 years of age. In no particular order, Laura Bretan, Angelina Jordan, Angelica Hale, Amira Willighagen, Diana Ankudinova, Beau Dermott, Lucy Thomas, Grace Vanderwaal and so many other gifted singers! The one though that started it all back in 2010, who won an audition for America's Got Talent from a vote on TH-cam and paved the way for those who followed is the Beautiful young woman with the Voice of the Millennia: Jackie Evancho! They ALL have great talent, but Jackie Evancho was the catalyst for them all!
That's a fact. I can't wait until the balance scales tip in favor of the average person being able to mass market themselves based on their abilities and not who you know and signed with. That will be epic.

YEA! YOU DID IT! You immediately connected her singing to having perfect pitch. Not too surprising when you learn her history of learning jazz tunes at 1 and a half years old. Frequently, begins songs promptly upon stepping up to the mike without music reference. Also, starting piano before age 6 - further contributing to how perfect pitch is learned. In her vast catalog being reacted to, no reference to.perfect pitch or relative pitch but zero incidents of her ever being off pitch. She has spoken about what she sees when singing and it relates to what you see with perfect pitch - the colors of sound.

I hope you do more of Angelina, she is fantastic. Of course her Gloomy Sunday at age 7 would be fantastic, or perhaps I Put A Spell On You at age 9 which is a Screamin' Jay Hawkins cover. Personally I really love her version of Summertime on Norske Talenter the most but there are SO MANY songs she has done that are wonderful.
I assume other people are saying this (I've only skimmed over the other comments), but her next performance on AGT, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", contains some killer runs/melismas, as well. th-cam.com/video/4XOMskgN8w4/w-d-xo.html She really does those *extremely* well (and usually more "judiciously" than in her AGT songs, where she had to "show off" more than she typically does). I hope you continue to react to her, because her videos are a goldmine of vocal techniques and "musicality"… as well as being just nice to listen to. [grin]
I dare say, as impressed as you were with her "mature" voice here, you may be even more impressed when you hear her 4 performances on _Norway's Got Talent_ [Norske Talenter] when she was 7 and 8. Even though her voice was clearly still "childlike" in certain ways, it already sounded surprisingly mature. (I like to say that she has always sounded twice her age. It's a pretty good rule of thumb that seems to work all the way back to the earliest video we have of her singing, when she was 1½.) And as for what she was able to *do* with her voice - the different vocal styles she adopted, as well as the "choices" she was making - well, to say that she was "good for her age" seems almost insulting (in a "damning with faint praise" sort of way).

If you are a Frank Sinatra fan, you should check out her covers of him. You'll be surprised what an 8 year old can do (most iconic: fly me to the moon). She has some 40+ mio views with videos of that song alone.
She likes adapting songs to make them her own. Most of the time people will agree her covers sound better and often more meaningful to them, or at least they are undecided.
And yes, once the singing starts she's absolutely fearless. Most fans agree, her live performances are the highlights. As a small kid she once said, singing on stage is what she loves. And she's been performing on stage since beeing 7, started singing with 1,5 years.
Notice Angelina's outfit. It's her own design of paintings throughout her childhood on the material. She used to only where white until lately, and she sings barefoot in response to a young poor girl who complimented her on the shoes Angelina was wearing. Angelina gave her shoes to the girl.

This is a rather long post, so please bear with me.
Angelina Jordon is simply one in a million, ( probably 10 million ) & is no doubt a modern day prodigy . However, I present to you another modern day prodigy by the name of Amira Willighagen, who won Holland’s Got Talent at the age of nine, & remarkably, without a single singing lesson. At the tender age of seven, she taught herself by watching uTube videos featuring the likes of Pavarotti by mimicking the mouth movements and breathing techniques. How a seven year old child would even think about Opera is mind blowing.
Anyway, after her win, she engaged a vocal coach & has since performed in some 20 countries and sung in at least 5 languages.
Angelina & Amira’s journeys are basically mirrored, even to the extent of their philanthropic attributes. Their music genres are poles apart, but both have this incredible, god given advanced talent.

... O Mio Babbino Caro with Andre Rieu at age 10. The world renown musician/conductor Andre Rieu, after hearing her sing, invited Amira to perform at Maastricht to an audience of 15,000 who rose as one to give her a standing ovation.
