Thanks for this I spilled melted ice cream on my gear shift while getting out of the car so was looking for a way to clean under it before it causes a problem!
@@tommytarver3060 , How can you say "no" to that shift handle not be related to that manual shift switch if it is built right into that shift handle itself? Can just the switch be replaced or taken out of the shift handle itself so you can put in a new switch?? Because those manual shift switches do go bad and quit working. Are these switches just manual or electrically operated switches?? Please, respond. Thank You. Rich.
@@tommytarver3060 And there was another time I had a 2011 GMC Terrain and that shifter switch didn't work so I took it to a Chevy Dealership and the mechanic there said that it was a wire that was broken in the center console???? Below the shifter handle in the center console itself! Not too sure about that one, especially when he told me that at that time it would have cost me over $320.00 to fix it and it would only take him less than an hour to fix the so called broken wire. Never took any vehicle back there again. How did he know it was a broken wire when he never even had the console apart when he was checking my vehicle out for me to find out why my shifter switch wasn't working in the first place??? Sounds suspicious to me unless there really could be a wire that can break in there but how would he know that without looking inside that center console??? Really!!
How many hours did it take you to pull this all apart? I am curious because mechanics will lie to make an extra buck and I hate mechanics. FORD had no business helping to make this gear shift because ford doesn't make good products I learned that years ago when My fathers car would break down daily if not weekly.
