RE: PAUSING, EXPRESSIONS & AIR-INSTRUMENTS:
Please be mindful that we will pause (we prefer to react in the moment & to avoid copyright strike), we will react with enthusiasm, smiles, tears, conversation, exchanged looks and air-instruments. We are expressive by nature and are truly very quirky in every sense of the word. This is who we are and this is what we’ve got to offer. We understand it may not be for everyone, but here's to hoping you all enjoy and we absolutely love positive comments and feedback.

I'm Marcelo, thanks Nick for reacting to my suggestions. 👌👌
My pleasure!!
Alejandro Silva probably is one of the best guitarists in latin America. He deserves to be most known in the world...
Riverside create truly beautiful music, hugely underrated and under appreciated band in my view.
RIVESIDE is fantastic, all their albums are very good !
That Riverside album has some of their most underrated songs: 'Discard Your Fear' and 'Caterpillar and the Barbed Wire' 🤘
Caterpillar and the Barbed Wire is a true gem!!
Riverside in title, automatic click...
Alejandro Silva builds his own amplifiers, and also is an amazing musician from Chile, very underrated, but for me is one of the most virtuosos guitarrist from south america. I would love to see him joining a prog metal band in EEUU or Europe. I would recommend the song NeoPangea.
Neopangea is a f****ing awesome song !!
Welcome Marcelo! Really enjoyed this set of songs! Threshold was probably my favorite! Loved the reaction Nick, i could listen to your commentary all day! I appreciate you man!! Sending love my friend!
Is great to discover new music thru this channel! Thanks Marcelo and Nick. Alejandro is sensational!🤘
Also Riverside is amazing and they do have some harder stuff. The Fear album is a good prog gateway set
Thanks Marcelo and Nick, Was so fun rockin' out to these choices! My "new bands" list is getting way too long, but, OK, keep 'em coming!
Threshold are great, so underrated.
That was a great Marathon, I loved the 1st 4 songs, the last one was good.
@NicknLex Man, Threshold is actually 30 years in the biz, their first album was released ins 1993, you should listen the them more, espacially albums of Macdermot's (former vocalist, who passed away) epoch (from 1998 to 2007), it was the best Threshold
March of Progress by Threshold one of my favorite albums by them along with Hypothetical.
Staring at the sun by Threshold is a great song. Very underrated band.
Love,Fear and The Time Machine is an album that's very different from the other Riverside albums to date.🖤🖤🖤 RIP PIOTR 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Threshold has been making albums for 3O years Nick. 1993’s Wounded Land.
This is really good music. Have you listened to the band "Redemption song "Black and White world" from the album "Snowfall on Judgement Day". I think you would like it.
And for Nick; The vocalist for 5 albums of Redemption, was *Ray Alder* of "Fates Warning", and recently "A - Z" :).
Awesome albums, and saw them with Fates Warning, Ray had a busy night!
I would really love it if you would listen to some sopwith camel. Fazon from the album The miraculous hump returns from the Moon. Please please please please you'll just love it
Riverside has and probably always will deliver high quality, just like in their latest release, but for me personally Second Life Syndrome will always be my favourite.
I don't know, where you checked Threshold, but their first album was 1993, not 1999. In 2001 they released Hypothetical, some say their best album, but also the 2022 release, their 12th studio album, is supposed to be good, I haven't heard it yet. Never heard of Moron Police, but pretty good as well. Sorry for the Voyager, but for me personally this is too "mainstream" ... Alejandro Silva is surely a great guitar player ... but here comes my "problem" : having listened to music for over 50 years I often hear parts, that I've heard before somewhere else ... it's really hard nowadays to find something really original.
Hey Rudi, once again you hit the nail on the head. I fully agree with your analysis. For Threshold, I recommend the album "March of Progress". I also find Moron Police very exciting. Let's see what else is coming from them.
@@theheepster do you have the New RPWL? I forgot to order.... but Easter Monday - Dortmund is confirmed! 😀
Next reaction VOB "SABOTAGE -Beastie BOYS cover VOB BAND 3 GIRLS HIJABERS from 🇮🇩 LIVE IN ( TAIWAN)PASIWALI FESTIVAL 2022👍 AMAZING 🤟
Threshold sounds like djent played over R.E.O. 😂 don't get me wrong I like it.
If you don't know him yet, try a guitarist from Minas Gerais who was part of the Clube De Esquina musicians gang, and an influence for Pat Metheny in the late 70s. I give you the remarkable Toninho Horta, one of the very best for me as a big collector of South American music. th-cam.com/video/w-ExOKDirwU/w-d-xo.html Mark GV - Reference Point
Next reaction VOB "KILLING IN THE NAME"RATM cover VOB BAND 3 GIRLS HIJABERS from 🇮🇩 LIVE IN WACKEN FESTIVAL (GERMAIN)2022👍 AMAZING 🤟
..please hear the fantastic cover version of the Genesis ' firth of fifth' by Flora on YT..🙏
Riverside is a wonderful band that has come a long way since their debut (and that "sound" for their 1st 3 albums). I do hope you get to see them, I have never seen them either, but I bet they put on a great show.
Like Riverside, "Threshold" was a favorite band on Progulus the Prog Internet Station and we were very ahead of the curve with many bands that became big in the genre. They are from England, and this vocalist; "Damian Wilson" was the _original_ vocalist of the band for the 1st and 3rd album, by the 4th "Extinct Instinct" 1997 their new vocalist "Andrew 'Mac' McDermott" brought Threshold to a newer audience as Prog Metal grew in popularity, he became the permanent vocalist till their 8th album "Dead Reckoning" (2007). Andrew sadly, died of Kidney failure in 2011. Damion Wilson came back for this album, but left in 2017 to be replaced by "Glynn Morgan", the vocalist on their 2nd album "Psychedelicatessen" (1994) and appears on their latest album "Dividing Lines" (2022).
Damian Wilson has also appeared on Arjen Lucassen's projects "Ayreon" and "Star One", and another Prog Metal band "Headspace".
I have never heard of "Moron Police", but hearing the lyrics, it figures that they are a "parody" band with a good dose of humor (you will be laughing at the lyrics Nick :p). "Goombah" is a slur for an Italian/American Gangster (for you Godfather fans). Its like a combo of "Groove Metal" meets Prog Metal, a bit funky and fun. They were very interesting, and from Norway!
Voyager, this is from their 2nd album "UnIverse" (2007) and is an album I don't know from them, they mature a lot by the 3rd album "I Am the Revolution" (2009) and I included them on, what you called; An "ETHERIC PROG MARATHON REACTION" (Haken/Devin Townsend Project/Leprous/Voyager/Tesseract/Hans Zimmer) from the album I purchased for you and Lexi, "Colours of the Sun" (2019) where they become a bit more commercial on a couple of tracks and add a "Djent" style. And the song you reacted to was "Water Over the Bridge". The albums before (V - 2013 & Ghost Mile - 2017) started to add a lot more "Electronica" elements into their music.
I liked this track, it shows where they were going with their style of Prog Metal. My favorite albums are "I Am the Revolution" and "The Meaning of I" (2011) which is their last traditional Prog Metal sound, but still unique to Voyager. "Colours of the Sun" was unique as well, and almost every track has a Video (which are fun and very well photographed).
Also: "On 21 February 2023, it was announced that Voyager were internally selected to represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song "Promise". The band is the first group to represent the country."
Never heard of Alejandro Silva. I would need to hear more of where he was _headed_ in the future, as I have heard soo many "Shredders", I'm a bit jaded. All the talent and skill is there, but I'd need to do a deeper dive into him and his Quartet.
That was fun though, to watch you get floored by the different approaches to Prog Metal, it was much like a Marathon that Narvik, RG, Rudi or myself would create. Sorry for the _sarcastic_ comment I left on the last Jarzombek reaction (which I "edited"), because of the "Lack" of views and comments. You KNOW I love that type of Metal and it was music I didn't know till you or someone else recommended I hear that particular album by Wes Thrailkill (which is awesome!). It always makes me sad that more folks can't appreciate the "Technical/Complex" side of Metal. I'll take credit for the Meshuggah _Hate_ though 😛. Makes me want to listen to more of their _meshugganer_ music (the defiant b@stard in me 🙃).
- Awesome grouping Marcelo! Thanks Nick \m/.
