Had a professor in college who was an absolute luddite (she also looked like she was a product of the 1950s), her policy was no electronic devices whatsoever, if you wanted to type notes, you could bring in a mechanical typewriter. Said all this right as I'd pulled out my laptop, so I simply ignored her for the next five minutes as she proceeded to bitch about me using the laptop. I'd logged onto the school's enrollment site and dropped the class right then and there, and enrolled in an equivalent class later that day with a different professor. Then I told her, as I packed up the laptop, and left. Found out a week later the class had been canceled from nearly everybody else dropping the class after that. Best part: that professor was an adjunct.
Anthony DelVecchio How do u know he’s a spoiled little bitch!? for all you know he could have worked very hard for months to pay for that phone only for his asshole teacher to destroy it, which he had NO authority to do
@@bunce2710 how do you know that he isn't a spoilt little bitch? For all you know he could've be the most unreasonable kid in the class and stole that phone of someone? Guess karma came back round. The teacher is his dad who bought it for him, so he set an example and had every authority to do so.
Anthony DelVecchio Look at the class. Nobody’s paying attention, he’s reading straight from the textbook, he resorted to breaking personal property. The only thing in the class besides the desks and the walls is the whiteboard.
My dad's iPhone was given to me the day he died, it gives me the memory of him and it has many photos and videos of us and brings back memories. If someone destroyed that, I destroy them. (Plz stop turning this into a tech forum, I know I can backup my photos and also I'm not saying a teacher has to break it, just if anyone broke it.)
I've been an adjunct professor for over 13 years and this is some of the most unprofessional behavior I've ever seen. Students, if a professor does this to you or your personal property you go and report them to the department chair in person. You have the right to do that and file a formal complaint with the dean as well.
It’s illegal to even take someone’s property except in very specific circumstances under very specific guidelines if you are an officer of the law Teachers think they are the law. This shit is why I don’t think they deserve any more pay raises nor do I feel sympathy when they get pay cuts
Yes. Even if the student was misbehaving, it’s still illegal. Also very VERY dangerous for the teacher to assume he wasn’t going through something, texting for an emergency, or if the phone had sedimental value.
I have 5 questions 1 who was recording that 2 why was this recommended to me now 3 how did the student resist snapping 4 why does the teacher talk so slow 5 where are all of the other students souls
@Huff Boy White people ain't tough at all they are trained to stay calm and tell authority. In a public school in NYC they wouldn't even try to take their phone. And if the teacher tries to pull a stunt like this it's lit for them.
homeless just means you have no home, so if you got kicked out, until you get a new one, youre homeless. Its not meant to be a fat old and drunk guy on the streets, it means you dont have a home to stay in
He's monotone, he's clearly reading directly off the textbook, his classroom looks beyond depressing. How can you possibly enforce a "no cell phone" policy and proceed to offer basically nothing in supplement of that entertainment-wise. No substance to the lecture. They can read the book at home. You're providing no reason to be there, thus it's unreasonable to expect them to pay much attention. Not the point though. That's beyond illegal and I'd absolutely sue this professor were it to happen to me. That's abysmal.
@Anthony DelVecchio It is an undisputed fact of pedagogy that the ability to learn is inexorably linked to being in a positive and engaging environment. You cannot effectively learn if the teacher is not properly engaging you. Especially if you're an adolescent that is very easily distracted due to the fact that your brain hasn't fully formed at that point. The other students may look like they're paying attention but that doesn't mean they're absorbing anything. They're probably just afraid to look like anything else because their teacher is clearly a domineering incompetent who should lose his job.
@Anthony DelVecchio Sir/Madam, you cannot expect the world to improve if we adopt the attitude of "that's the way it is, and if you want it to change you're an entitled snowflake". What if I were to say this to the Founding Fathers? "Oh you're whining about high taxes and misreperesentation? Get over it and get used to it, special snowflake". Wouldn't be an ideal situation, if I'd say so myself.
+Natsu Dragneel What lava? I doubt they would let you bring that to school and if i saw my phone fall into lava the person who dropped it would see there blood fall into lava
Wazap XD You miss the point. If you were disrupting my class or not paying attention, after I had informed you of that policy several times, I would do whatever I feel like to your phone. That was an example, and clearly you did not understand such a thing. You and many other ignorant fools should learn to listen to what a teacher says, instead of being foolish. If something like this happened it would all be on you. If you would be willing to rot in jail for it, that is on you. It will be a life sentence. But guess what, many people threaten such things over the Internet. Where would it get them in real life? Nowhere. Grow up and quit being such a fool.
Nic M Well then thank you. I get tired of people who talk in such a way on the Internet. I have been in classes where teachers go through enough when they do a great job. They deserve better

I doubt that would happen. Though, I would yell at the teacher. It's not his, he's not allowed to do that... I wonder what happened afterwards though, did he tell someone, did the teacher get fired?
It depends on the school... As unfair as it is some schools allow stuff like that for example there was this school that made u pay to get back ur phone. Its stupid but thats the way it is. Just dont use your phone in class plus these are older kids they should know better
Oh yea, this skit is fake because I am pretty sure there would be no scenario that this camera is just in the corner of the room recording at this exact time in HD and the class has like no reaction.
Teacher: (breaks cell phone) I have a strict policy about texting. Me: (breaks the camera) I have a strict policy about being video recorded without my consent
If you willing sit down in that room, you obviously consent to be recorded. Besides thats public property, you have no expectation of privacy, or any standing to complain.
So that he has proof the kid was texting. Cuz if he has proof he has no problem if he doesnt have proof kid can lie and get his friends in the lie and big problems for teacher in court.
charlie compton Fake or not, the teacher was showing evidence of what students do in their classes. School is meant to do classwork, not play on their devices
People of the comment section: You can relax, this is fake. A conveniently placed camera recording the class? A conveniently placed glass of water? He even stared into the camera before he approached the kid. He probably plays this video to his students at the start of the school year.
Let me just record my random class of children and put this kid's flip phone in this nice full glass of water I have sitting on my desk here. But I have to make sure I look into the camera TWICE before I do it.
If I was ever a teacher, on the first day I’d say; “In my class you can text, sleep, draw, etc. but when your parents complain too me about why your going to spend an extra year in high school, I’ll be texting on my phone ignoring them.” 😂idk if that’s even allowed but if it was I feel like it would be way more effective than trying to force someone into listening
My Mom went to a school where they didn't care about you doing things like that as long as you got your work done. I think it's better that way(of course there should be a few exceptions) since people learn and apply themselves better when in a relaxed setting. They're slowly cutting out things in the yearly standardized tests for this very reason.
Borna Asi this is truly amazing, but the problem is that most schools judge their teachers based on how well the average well doing of the class is, so if many students r being stupid u have high risk of being strongly evaluated

ZebraTerabyte // zT productions not sure if you have kids, but try and force a teenager to do something they don’t want too. You are highly unlikely to see positive results. It’s the responsibility of the parents to make sure their kids value education, a teacher is supposed to teach. Not to have illogical arguments with your kid, not to scold them, and definitely not to punish them. If you failed to do that as a parent, their straight F’s are on you, not the teacher
@@spicyelcomo2334 dumbass what if the teacher was recording a lesson and was just checking out the camera and didn't care to cut that part because of his clear ego problems
Rational Thinker look around the room and look at what the teacher does when the student leaves, he didn’t say a single thing. Every teacher will stop the student and ask them why they are getting up without permission and this video didn’t show any of that. Also, u aren’t fucking able to break somebody else’s devices because that will lead u into jail or even worse therefore, this has to fake. The professor didn’t even get in trouble yet...
gleefanatic2013 Teachers don’t have the right to confiscate it either. The teacher can ask for it but the property is owned by the student. They are not obliged to hand it over. Otherwise it would be stealing.
The professor needs to learn a lesson. Sure Texting should not be tolerated and the student should be asked to leave. That's a given. The student should have gotten up taken the glasses off he professors face and broke them in two. Then put them in the same glass of water to see how the professor feels. I am sure he would have learnt his lesson. Just remember that just because you have taken a few courses that does not make you better then others and it does not give you the right to destroy other peoples things. I learnt that when I was in kindergarten .
Did you also learn respect ?? I'll bet the student respects the teacher enough to not use his next cell phone during class again... That's the problem with the new age of digital dumbasses .. There's a time and place for everything , during class is not that time or place.. They don't know when to put it away.
I don’t get the concept of teachers destroying phones. DID You pay for it? Are you going to reimburse the student? Was there no other way to eliminate the problem? If the answer to any or all those questions are no than stay clear the hell away from other people’s devices
They have no authority legally This is criminal destruction of property. Teachers often think they are the law. People need to stay taking a stand against them they will sing a very different tune when they face the actual law

Fun fact: it is illegal to destroy someone's property, even if that someone is a student.
It’s illegal to even take someone’s property except in very specific circumstances under very specific guidelines if you are an officer of the law
Teachers think they are the law. This shit is why I don’t think they deserve any more pay raises nor do I feel sympathy when they get pay cuts
This is a college, most college courses requires you to sign a waiver that submits to you to whatever course policy. So this in fact is probably legal
Yes. Even if the student was misbehaving, it’s still illegal. Also very VERY dangerous for the teacher to assume he wasn’t going through something, texting for an emergency, or if the phone had sedimental value.

@Anthony DelVecchio no need to be rude and it's difficult paying attention when it's extremely boring as young teenagers
Not sure if we’re the snowflakes with the way you’re acting
