Recently I decided to visit Russia to find out for myself and yes it is possible notwithstanding the sanctions and I found it well worth the effort. Everything seems to work there. I even had a tooth filling come out whilst in Russia. I found a local dentist open at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. I was immediately dealt with, spent 30 minutes in the chair an my filling was renewed. Dentist, nurse and 2 receptionists could not have been more professional, courteous and welcoming. The cost was £58 but I was happy to pay and felt I’d had excellent treatment. My dentist would be closed on a Saturday afternoon. During my visit I saw no litter, no graffiti, no homelessness and no bad behaviour. I felt safer walking around and riding on the Metro than I do in many parts of UK. I found the people very welcoming throughout.

If you didn’t look out the window you wouldn’t know you were moving. Full breakfast served at your seat included in business fare of £95. They have just started constructing another line to do the same service in 2:15 As a retired pilot I know a bit about aviation. The aircraft accidents they have had over recent years are mainly due to other factors rather than design. I could also mention the Metro. In the week you never wait more than 1/2 minutes for a train. The fare is the same irrespective of journey length at 60 pence equivalent or 50 pence if you buy a travel card and top it up at fully staffed ticket offices or machines at all stations or on line. Supermarket shelves are fully stocked with bags of choice and cheap prices but it needs to be mentioned that wages are lower. Of course not all Russia is the same but the same argument could be applied to UK. Major cities like Saint Petersburg and Moscow are certainly in a much better state that London when it comes to things like cleanliness.

In my case I have overpaid council tax for three years but they will not pay it back, they have even added on an extra amount out of thin air with nothing to back it up just to get extra money, I don’t know who they think they are but they will not be getting any money from me, on top of that my property is not even banded so their ‘bills’ are void. @@davidwolstenholme4676 You get them with their own legislation. And if they don’t provide the service they don’t get paid in my view. They are not above the law, they think they are and they treat you with contempt and no respect. In my case I have overpaid council tax for three years but they will not pay it back, they have even added on an extra amount out of thin air with nothing to back it up just to get extra money, I don’t know who they think they are but they will not be getting any money from me, on top of that my property is not even banded so their ‘bills’ are void. Yes I heard about that woman didn’t she get to stay in the end with help from the community? I will fight them until I die with this one especially after the FOI responses I’ve had so from them
