What the Wakhi People Taught Me about Life

- This was probably one of my favourite travel experiences - EVER. I had a beautiful time with my Wakhi family in Jamalabad, Gojal, Upper Hunza. I feel like the warmth and knowledge they passed on to me, I wouldn't have been able to gain anywhere else.

I have visited Gojal with my husband. We were invited with a wakhi family as well who happened to be my husband's friend. And they are one of the best people I have met in my entire life. In fact, their kind of living is my inspiration as being minimalist.

Your video reminds me my Childhood days which I spent in Astore. Most of the cultural elements of Wakhi people were prevalent in many rural villages of Gilgit-Baltistan. Unfortunately, the modernisation is threatening all these precious cultural elements.
Just wow. I'm from Lahore and want to spend the rest of my life in Norther Areas (Hunza Nagar in particular). There's something called Peace which unfortunately our cities lack these days.

I'm British Indian and live by simple sensible guidance passed to me by my father and grandfather. Make sure to have a roof over your head, food on the table, look after your elders, always love and educate your children and help those less fortunate. The rest in life is a bonus and a luxury. My two sons live the same way, one is an IT specialist and the other is a doctor.

Nagina Kulsoom wakhi language is so alike with persian,..chetori ,khane(home) and that kissing hand gesture ofshowing respect
@@whatsinmymind5942 wakhi people (xik) lives in Tajikistan badakhsan (majority), Afghanistan badakhsan, China kasghar, and Russia. I heard there is also a wakhi village in turkey . And o yeah in brughal valley chitrali and ishkomen pakistan.
@@Fakhirasharifi well yeah actually wakhi and Persian are both in the same language family (Iranian branch of indo Iranian)Most importantly Xiks has always lived side to side with Persian people so we have quite similar culture and we have a lot of Persian loan words and we use some Persian phrases very casually . Infact,although in pakistan there aren't Persian here yet, I grew up listening to tajiki and persian songs most of my life.

Also, strong Tibet/Ladakh vibes in the landscape, architecture, and in the braids of the ladies.
