Love what you did with your walls in the piano room, it looks so classy! Can't wait to see your other changes too. I do love the toilet wallpaper in your master bedroom, are you changing that too or leaving it?
Just love your home up and down. So neat without being sterile and so homely looking. I too am looking forward to seeing the other changes you make. ❤️
Wonderful decision with the wall embellishments, Jennifer! My former office is still my favorite room because we did that. My dream home would have it on every wall with a lot of intricate detail. It’s elegant without trying too hard. It will be fun to see the transformation of the rest of your home🌹
Jennifer, the picture molding is exactly what was needed! I had been contemplating this decision myself, and this video helped me to decide to move forward with this detailing in my own home. It adds a sense of history and detail to builders grade that is missing from newer builds. PS I loved the video where we toured your mother in law's lovely home and wondered if she influenced your design decisions.
Benjamin Moore told us years ago that the color coral is perfect for a powder room. Just like your peach it makes people who look in the mirror a full 10 years younger, no kidding. We call it our 10 years younger bathroom and guests love it.
The drawing room transformation is fantastic. Jennifer! I love the way the smaller frames on top crown the room. The Drawing Room was the perfect place to start your home’s interior transformation. So much creativity is rising above it and reaching out around it. How fun it is to watch the changes and your joy in doing it! We live in a Pacific Northwest Contemporary style home, built in 1979, with a very open floor plan. We use wood elements and ( local artists’ ) art to enhance our walls. For 2024, I am hoping to replace our floors and floor coverings. In the mean time, I am deep cleaning and restyling with things that I already own and pieces I carefully curated from the emptying and selling of my parents home. It’s amazing how fresh you can bring it, with a few moves and a little remerchandising.
Another idea - since the shower in the 'powder room' isn't being used from the sounds of it - hang a beautiful textured white shower curtain in front of it. Disguises the shower. @NatalieBennett did this in her kids bathroom that doubles as a powder room for guests. Looks fantastic!
Jennifer, this is genius! The room has transformed. It reminds me of a tea room where you can just sip on tea and read for hours, or entertain, what a great solution for the high ceilings.
I was unfortunate enough to fall halfway down our curved wooden staircase a few days before Christmas. Thankfully, I was able to stop myself halfway down and my injuries were internal bruising which are still coming out. However, it was an accident that made my husband and myself rethink and as much as we love wooden stairs; now that we are pensioners, my fall made us both stop and reconsider our future safety. While I write this we are having a carpet plus underlay fitted to our stairs.
@@TheDailyConnoisseur ….Thank you Jennifer. I absolutely love the changes you are making to your home. It’s always good to refresh homes as much as you can on a semi regular basis..I’m much in favour of that. Our home is a small English Cottage built in 1810. We moved here 23 years ago with the idea of updating it and make it ready for our retirement. It has had a complete overhaul including new electrics putting our plug sockets at shoulder height. No more bending down to plug in the vacuum cleaner, iron etc. We also enlarged our kitchen and had an electric tower oven installed with microwave above and a Gas hob. In the U.K. that’s known as ‘Belts and Bracers’ so if the electric goes off…I can still make a meal on the gas hob and if my gas hob doesn’t work for whatever reason, I have the electric oven or microwave to use as an alternative. 😀
Jennifer, your choices are stunning! Thank you (and Robert Louis Stevenson) for reminding us that no decision is too trite to take to our loving God because He is the original creator of all things beautiful. A quote from Victoria magazine says, "We have to train our eyes ... to look through the lens of those who have very good taste." You, Jennifer, have very good taste!❤
What a beautiful transformation of your piano room! The picture frame molding is a perfect way to add interest to such large walls, and the color you chose looks fabulous!
The piano room transformation is stunning! I think some vertical sconces on the panels would add even more drama-sconces that shoot light directionally straight up and down, (rather than a vertical diffusion) to accentuate the height of the ceilings would be *chef’s kiss*
Painted our house Evergreen Fog last year and it was the best decision! The color changes with the light as the day moves. Love your space and what you have done so far.
Dear Jennifer, seeing you add beautiful color and architectural detail to your home truly warms my heart! ❤ Living in a world dominated by all white walls with no architectural detail has been so wearing on my soul, which craves beauty and magic ! I love that you ask God for help! Thank you for sharing your process of beautification with us! 😊 🌻🎵
Same! I just received a decor magazine that Ive loved for years, but this edition it seemed every room, every kitchen was white on white. So so boring and antiseptic!
It’s amazing how much adding wood moldings can transform a room. I love the wall color you chose too, a bit darker color like this can make a tall or large space feel cozier and more intimate. I’m so fortunate to have most of the original moldings in my Victorian cottage, they give a house so much more character and elegance. I grew up in a different, brand new, modern house every year and I refused to live in another beige box when I bought my own home. The houses of this era, the 60s and 70s, were mostly quite character-less (we did have one modern, architectural award-winning, one that was much better, but it did have the cheap, modern finishings and surfaces I hate, like vinyl, carpet, etc.)
The molding and color choices are so elegant and feel wonderfully European. So tasteful! So happy for you and your family, Jennifer. I adore the “ jewel box” idea you are creating in your home. It is spirit nurturing and inspiring. Brava! ❤
The changes are truly an embodiment of you as a person. Most of all I love the fact that your content has always focused on being elegant and intentional no matter your surroundings. For so many years you practiced these principles in a space that didn’t wholly reflect your being but all the while the seeds were planted and growing….now they are springing forth their fruits and it is perfection. In the modern social media space, that isn’t the picture presented at all. Your path is the one that leads to lasting and authentic design & joy. A job beautifully done and I can’t wait to see more!!!
Hi Jennifer! It is so nice to see you be content with your house until you can do what you want to the space! I am trying to budget accordingly as I renovate our home so as not to have guilt and stress with the final product. Thank you for the lovely content!
Yes! Jennifer, can you make an accompanying video with these projects regarding the finances aspect of planning such a project? Specific details you can share up to your comfort level, a general idea is sufficient. I think Alot of us (myself included) hesitate to start projects like this primarily due to finances/budget concerns and just the big change overall
The paneled look is so gorgeous and smart! I am heading up a committee to redecorate a historic home in our town, and we recently decided to do the same thing in the study. I took photos of yours and just shared them to confirm our decision. Thank you! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your updates!
Interior design is SO MUCH FUN!! 🤗 It’s lovely to see how the changes you’ve made transform your rooms. I can’t wait to see the mural in the guest bathroom!
We are currently in the midst of adding floor to ceiling bookshelves in our den to make a library. The messy stage is hard to handle because I keep a tidy home but I am looking forward to when it’s finished. Your home looks beautiful! Love the updates!
What a stunning look with the moldings! Completely transformed the space. And the color is so beautiful as well. I love that you received your answer in the form of real "fog" lolI can't wait to keep seeing the rest of the updates!!
Wow, I love how the molding and wainscoting transformed your space! The color is gorgeous and rich feeling, great choice. It also amazes me, how much lighter and brighter your dining room looks, with the new rugs.
Gorgeous colour! I wonder if you would consider painting the woodwork, doors etc the same colour. That’s a very typical and traditional thing in France and simplifies the look.

Your changes look stunning! Just a tip if you ever struggle with paint colours in the future, an interior decorator once told me a trade secret, when you like a paint colour always get it mixed as a "quarter strength". You get the same colour, it's just not so heavy. But that's relevant right now because boy it looks beautiful!
@@21972012145525 When you buy paint you buy "white" paint they then add in the colour in. Full strength is the full amount of colour to match the paint chip. It's often very dark and too heavy for small rooms, or overpowering on feature walls. Half strength is half the amount of colour added to the white, quarter is only a quarter. The colour is the same it's just "lighter" think of painting all three shades lined up, the colours look the same but create an Ombre, you can buy a lighter shade and add more in if you get home and think it's too light, but you can't go lighter from dark. Our entire house is painted in just two colours but in differing strengths based on the room size and the amount of light the room gets. For example our media room is a big room, we went half strength because we want that space dark and moody but full strength looked depressing and closed in the space. But we want the bedrooms light and bright so they are quarter.
Being British and frequently visiting our historic stately homes, I have a soft spot for a panelled look, with paintings on, so I really liked what you did in your piano room. The panel above your piano is crying out for a long picture - maybe a whimsical portrait / photo of you and your husband? A la Madame Chic who had portraits of her ancestors in her home. I have a long narrow hallway so loved how you made yours look more interesting with two different colours. It is so fun coming up with decorating ideas. I like to look on Pinterest for ideas and create mood boards on Pinterest. A Jewel Box feel for your home is a very interesting concept. I just googled How to decorate your home like a jewel box - the inspirational pictures were beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing your other rooms and how you develop this idea. Have fun.
The changes you made are beautiful. You asked what I am doing to redecorate my home - touch everything we own and keep reuse or donate. I've collected too much stuff and added new hobbies, I need to release unused items and/or things I no longer love. My decorating style will be "get rid of too much stuff and again enjoy what I have.
Good morning, Jennifer Wow so beautiful! I love the color! I have a gigantic wall in our living room and have been trying to figure out what to do with it. 23 years 😳 I showed your wall to my husband and he liked it. Maybe we will do the same thing. It is such a beautiful change. The rugs have transformed your spaces too. So beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day!
Your color and upgrade is lovely! I just had my interiors painted from builder beige to Sherwin Williams Alabaster. It brightens my surroundings beautifully 🥰
I love your dream experience. I've self diagnosed health issues that way. I am a decorative painter, working in high end homes, and think that the color is going to help your giant space feel cozier and quieter. Reds go great with that green, as you can see by how nice your stair railings pop beautifully now. I would love to have painted your bathroom mural! Can't wait to see it.
The picture frame moldings and moody fog green color were most definitely the right choices--O especially liked those. When it comes to interior design (and beyond), it often pays to take our time and consider possibilities before making a final decision. Well done, Jennifer! I know I'll really enjoy this new series this year. Good luck! ❤
Oh this is EXACTLY what I would have done with that wall space, too!! The picture molding and wainscoting looks so very European 😍 I just LOVE the transformation of your space. And I cannot wait to see the powder room reveal. Chinoiserie!!! It’s going to be a dream. 🥲 My project over the Fall/Winter has been to overhaul our master bedroom. For 5 years it has been a dumping ground and a huge source of stress that I never get around to. Despite being pregnant and very sick, I was determined to purge our bedroom! I removed everything around and under the bed, decluttered and organized things or got rid of them. My husband took down some horrible black shelves that were closing down our space and looming over my side of the bed. I ordered some new storage from IKEA that was light beige and so much brighter for our already-white walls. I ordered a new white comforter on Wayfair, and a beautiful cream quilt w/ ferns & butterflies, to replace our ratty old comforter. Our master bedroom had an Asian decor theme for the past 10 years and while I love Asian decor, I needed something new. I took down half of the wall art and the Asian themed bedding and replaced it with lighter, brighter colors. And I finally got a curtain rod and curtains (ikea) in creamy lace and sage green. My husband’s grandmother passed away while I was in the midst of this overhaul and I wound up getting many beautiful antique, “jewel box” style decor from her. Our color palette for our room is now white, cream, sage green, and butter yellow. My new Ikea cabinet is full of jewel-box vignettes- realistic little ceramic birds, vintage and antique books, antique art, and yellow flowers. I replaced most of our wall art with gold-framed art that I love by Albert Beirstadt and Carl Frederic Aagaard - a green woodland scene with deer and a sloping Swiss mountain. (I got them from Walmart online) Our master bedroom went from being a dark, cluttered mess with a lot of dark colors but is now a brightly lit, and like a little woodland retreat. The white, cream and sage green colors with the bright pops of yellow are so cheery and inviting. The cabinet full of little bird scenes and vintage books make beautiful vignettes. And I didn’t paint anything, I only decluttered and removed heavy black furniture, switched out the bedding and pillows, added curtains and new wall art, and added an IKEA standing cabinet with vignettes inside. I walk inside my room now and feel such peace wash over me! I love being inspired by Jennifer’s content!
Wow the living room is completely transformed!! The art even stands out more against the color. One thing that stands out, is that the door could use a coat of color, maybe even the same shade? Or pulling another shade from the wallpaper in the adjoining room? ❤
The molding looks great, The halls are coming along nicely the bath room color is perfect I'm old fashion only hardwood floors for a dining room so easy to keep clean, carpet looks like pig wallow after a few years, especially if you have small children.
I love the changes!! Yes, your choice in the upstairs hallway was a good one! It really added elegance. Looking forward to your powder room transformation. Love the rugs too; really added a finished touch to your dining room.
Love the picture frame molding! I am tucking that idea away for the future. My brother does wood working and it is probably more attainable than I even realize. I don’t plan to redecorate much this year, except to strive for a more simple, peaceful style when I finish redecorating after the Christmas stuff is away. I doubt I’ll ever be a minimalist, but I am realizing the excessive color and words and clutter does weigh a soul down.
I love what you did to your drawing room. When I saw the title of this video I was so confused as your home looks so beautiful already. What an improvement though. We're not doing any decorating this year. Our main priority is necessary maintenance. Currently we have a broken geyser and floors that need attention but are not priority.
Beautiful results, Jennifer! I had a new Pax closet from IKEA installed in my master bedroom walk-in closet just before Christmas. It was the best present to myself 😁 Also my contractor painted the upstairs and downstairs hallways. They feel so fresh and clean. I love it!❤ When we give our living spaces some love they return it to us many times over!!
Congratulations! The drawing room is certainly improved with the addition of molding, very classic and elegant! Excellent choices all around in this video, it was a joy to watch. My husband and I live in an 1895 Victorian that was recently returned to a single-family home footprint after having been two apartments since the late 1940s, and I’m constantly planning ways to bring her back to her former glory. It was comforting to hear how you described a room that bothers you as being like a math problem! There IS a solution!! 😊
What a stroke of brilliance, Jennifer, with the color and the architectural details. Beautiful & elegant. One of my favorite videos of yours is the one where you show that a suburban tract house can be beautiful & unique. Well done!!!
The transformation is amazing! You've added layers and texture throughout, and it makes such a difference. And Fuzzy Peach is the Pantone 2024 color, you're totally on trend in your powder room (I'd love a video on this color btw, in the vein of your previous color videos). Looking forward to seeing the rest of the house and the mural...
Exciting, Jennifer! We are currently paneling our daughter’s room with floor to ceiling bead board. We’ll be installing an IKEA bookcase and trimming it out to look like a built-in. We also paneled the ceiling with shiplap and we’re casing in the big windows nicely. And we’re painting it Evergreen Fog! So I’m excited that you chose the same color and that it looks so nice 😊 Her sister will get the same treatment next, except with a double bookcase and different paint color. We recently paneled the dining room and painted a soft beige and it looks absolutely beautiful. We also have a huge great room with extremely high ceilings so I’ve been trying to envision how I will panel that room when the time comes. Picture moulding will be incorporated for sure!
I had this green in my kitchen and adjacent sunroom with high ceiling.after getting anew kitchen installed i painted the kitchen area elephants breath by farrow and ball and left the green inthe sunroom .it looks gorgeous. Next job is closing off a patio door instaling an electric fireplace and the paneling.love what youve done its right up my street.😊
This looks like your Living Room. Paint a very light sage, and turn into a beautiful living room. Ohh, now that I e seen it completed, it looks so nice and warm now. 👍 great job.
Jennifer, I love your faith to ask God to inspire you in your sleep! That is truly inspiriing and also provokes my faith. And the picture frame molding is perfect!
I very recently retired, and my plan is to add board and batten and picture frame molding throughout the house, one room at a time. But first, I'm tackling the basement by going through boxes to see what I have to incorporate those things into my redecorating. I'm also interested in replacing some furniture as well, to better fit our space. I figure after 18 years in the same house, it's time. My DH is a little nervous....
Beautiful color and molding. It really makes the room feel special. The hallways are fabulous too! I hope to "some day" have built in book Cqases in our living. It already has an English country look with green walls, thebookcases would really complete the look. I think painting our 1940 house and doing repairs will probably come first.
Wonderful decorating choice. In the UK colour drenching is popular, that’s why I feel if you have the ceiling in your room the same colour as the walls it will make a cosy dramatic and totally classic look. 😊
Wow, that paneling looks regal! I love it! 🎉 I don’t love to decorate… it baffles me. I stand at the store just stuck. So I try to keep things simple but I love watching what others put together. I am going to try my hand at refinishing my furniture if that counts as redecorating 😊
Learned a lot and very inspiring to see how the panel idea solved a problem with the high ceilings. Never considered a layered rug for my rooms. Thanks so much.
I applaud your daring in undertaking major renovations with young children at home! At 75 I still regularly update my home with changes, but I don't want to live with major renovations while I am living in a home. Your choices are wonderful, and I am sure that your family will have great memories of living in a beautiful home.
That green fog color is so pretty! And the molding added such a great detail. Excited to see the other changes you make! I love home improvement content.😍
Yes! I knew you were going to add moulding, it’s always an amazing look. I never realized how builder grade your house was since you usually show us the couple of rooms you have decorated…. But now your front room is looking like we walked into a beautiful European home! My dining room and hallways are a similar color and I loooove that color. I’m excited to also keep working on my home this year
Thanks for sharing. I just redid my master bath with grey & white marble look porcelain in herringbone on floor & ceiling of shower. Wallpaper is white background blue lattice on ceiling only except fully in toilet area. A balloon shade in floral over the window & a round patterned rug!
What a beautiful start! I love the colors you selected. I think I’m going to copy your ideas about rugs, we have the same situation as you do. Some of our pet stains are just mortifying and no matter how hard we clean they refuse to come out! I like the way your layered rugs look and they really brighten your space up. Can’t wait to follow your remodel, have fun!
Wow Jennifer, what a lovely and inspiring video. We are in the process of changing the look of some areas in our home as well as making some areas more efficient and cozy. Thank you for sharing some tips and the ways that you are making your home better for you and your family. It certainly is gorgeous and so fun to watch the changes. You have such elegant style.
I love the color! The walks look amazing! I’ve been wanting to do that to my walls for quite awhile. I’m loving the idea with the rugs. I’m totally stealing that idea. I rearranged my living room to get a more spacious look and it worked. I just want it prettier. ❤

This is ME! Idk where to begin but I hope to get rid of Alot of things so I have less to clean

You can also take a piece of your wallpaper to the paint store and they can match with their computer; works every time.
We upgraded my closet/ craft room. It totally snowballed and had to rip out carpet so now I’m inspired to rip out ALL the carpet.
Good morning, Jennifer
Wow so beautiful! I love the color!
I have a gigantic wall in our living room and have been trying to figure out what to do with it. 23 years 😳
I showed your wall to my husband and he liked it.
This was SO MUCH FUN to watch🎨 I Love Your Artistic Way of Solving Things!!! TY
Yessssss. My daughter is encountering the same issue with high ceilings. Great idea to add the frame's.
The picture frame moldings and moody fog green color were most definitely the right choices--O especially liked those. When it comes to interior design (and beyond), it often pays to take our time and consider possibilities before making a final decision. Well done, Jennifer! I know I'll really enjoy this new series this year. Good luck! ❤
Thank you! Yes, it took me 7 years to make this decision, haha
I am so glad I'm not the only one who appreciates color! Your choices are lovely.
The piano looks so beautiful against the green!
Oh this is EXACTLY what I would have done with that wall space, too!! The picture molding and wainscoting looks so very European 😍 I just LOVE the transformation of your space. And I cannot wait to see the powder room reveal. Chinoiserie!!! It’s going to be a dream. 🥲
My project over the Fall/Winter has been to overhaul our master bedroom.
(I got them from Walmart online)
Our master bedroom went from being a dark, cluttered mess with a lot of dark colors but is now a brightly lit, and like a little woodland retreat.

Wonderful choices in transforming that challenging front room! Would be interested in viewing any B roll of the contractors installing the moulding.
Same!
Wow! The molding made a HUGE difference ‼️
Yes I prefer minimalist simply because it's easier to clean and maintain
TH-camr Chase Amie has shown how she and husband dan have paneled their home
Love the molding great color choices as well! New light fixtures make such an impact or at least it has for us when we updated our home.
I love what you did to your drawing room. When I saw the title of this video I was so confused as your home looks so beautiful already. What an improvement though. We're not doing any decorating this year. Our main priority is necessary maintenance. Currently we have a broken geyser and floors that need attention but are not priority.
Yes maintenance is needed in my home too. Idk where to begin 😢
So beautiful! I can't currently do a huge remodel, but I am trying to find small ways to update and beautify our home. Thank you for the inspiration!
Beautiful results, Jennifer!
I had a new Pax closet from IKEA installed in my master bedroom walk-in closet just before Christmas. It was the best present to myself 😁
Also my contractor painted the upstairs and downstairs hallways. They feel so fresh and clean. I love it!❤ When we give our living spaces some love they return it to us many times over!!
Popping in to say I got goosebumps from your choose the paint color story!
Love the panelled look, and the hallways.
Wow! You should document your journey on social media! TH-cam, instagram, or Facebook
I would have added drapes and tapestry for texture, but her choice suits her nicely :)
Your home updates are fabulous. They just shout "Jennifer L Scott lives here!!" It is so cozy and inviting! I can't wait to see more!

@21972012145525 I know a Jennifer Smith. My hand just typed it lol. Thanks!
I adore the change! The changes make the environment simultaneously more inviting, yet even more elegant.
Love the color. Drawing room would look great with larger pieces of furniture.
We painted our bedroom with Evergreen Fog and two years later I still love it.
What a stroke of brilliance, Jennifer, with the color and the architectural details. Beautiful & elegant.
One of my favorite videos of yours is the one where you show that a suburban tract house can be beautiful & unique.
Well done!!!
The built in architectural details made a huge transformation! Absolutely loving the changes, it’s like moving into a new home ☺️
OK, wow. Great job on the walls with the frame molding! I am going to show my husband to see if we can do that in our entryway.
Chase Amie on TH-cam shows before and after of how she and her husband added paneling to rooms. Not an instructional video but still fun to watch
The color and molding are perfect.
Check out TH-camr Chase Amie. She and her husband did very similar updates in their home as you listed: paneling, built in shelves IKEa style
Can't wait to see the final result.
Dear Jennifer, the piano/drawing room looks beautiful in the green color. I really like the wainscotting you added in the hallways.
Wonderful decorating choice. In the UK colour drenching is popular, that’s why I feel if you have the ceiling in your room the same colour as the walls it will make a cosy dramatic and totally classic look. 😊
What a beautiful answer to your prayer!
You should of asked us...I would have said picture molding.
Wow, that paneling looks regal! I love it! 🎉 I don’t love to decorate… it baffles me. I stand at the store just stuck. So I try to keep things simple but I love watching what others put together. I am going to try my hand at refinishing my furniture if that counts as redecorating 😊
Me too 😅
ReFinishing furniture I consider above and beyond decorating! That's an amazing skill and a lot of work!
Wow! I love the hallway wainscoting! 😍
Thank you! ♥️♥️
Learned a lot and very inspiring to see how the panel idea solved a problem with the high ceilings. Never considered a layered rug for my rooms. Thanks so much.
I love EVERGREEN FOG! I painted my kitchen cabinets that color last year.
I applaud your daring in undertaking major renovations with young children at home! At 75 I still regularly update my home with changes, but I don't want to live with major renovations while I am living in a home. Your choices are wonderful, and I am sure that your family will have great memories of living in a beautiful home.
The picture molding is brilliant! I love your color choices too. Thanks for inspiring me (and I'm sure many other viewers).
Very beautiful and blessed wall color.Praise the Lord🌷🌻🙏❣
Fabulous
Wow! I was impressed with how the color and moulding transformed the room.
That green fog color is so pretty! And the molding added such a great detail. Excited to see the other changes you make! I love home improvement content.😍
Thank you! Happy new year!
Absolutely beautiful ❤ I too always ask God when faced with a decision ☺️
Love pictures molding ❤❤I did mine dining room recently by myself it's a fun diy
I admire people who can do it themselves! I love it!
Wow! That's such a great skill. Chase Amie on TH-cam documented how she and her husband added paneling to their homes and it's really beautiful
Looove the moldings and the new colored walls!!👌
I love sage green shades! The framed walls are just what the space needed.
