I enjoy seeing the surroundings of where you are and some of the history of the areas. You have so much great information to share! I also like the scrolling comments 🤣. Thanks for sharing!!!
I just got a couple very old concrete ducks the last day of an Estate Sale. They were out in the yard with no price. Got them for $2. each. Made me happy.
That's a first for me...I've never seen that many weeping gold pieces in one place. Just found a book on old advertising signs...looking through it today and saw a Fairy soap ad in it and now here you are showing me one (replica) at that Estate sale ...So funny!...Great video ....lots of new and interesting items and facts... Always great fun to watch you on your adventures. Thank you George and Xeno. 😍
I had to laugh at the drug store name! Back in high school, the sign in front of the guidance counselors office said “GOOS - BUTT”. The first was pronounced “Goss”, and the second rhymed with “foot”. For some reason, I never found it funny until years later….and then it was hilarious. 🤣
Hi George, thanks for sharing the wonderful & diverse collections; looking forward to seeing what you purchase when you can get a deeper discount. Have a good day.
Oh my, that wasn't an estate sale, it was a museum! I went to the first yard sale i'd been to in a couple years on the spur of the moment last week down the road from me & scored big time! The man having it's 93 yr old father-in-law passed & had some awesome vintage & antique things, & he knew what they had cuz we discussed it & i didn't hide i was a reseller. Got a really nice brass bridge lamp that works for $1, now all i need is a shade. My whole spend was $25. As soon as i got home, i went on ebay & comped, & was amazed. I only had an hour & made my stack & he was very gracious to take them from me to add to my stack & even carried to my car! He had some fenton hobnail pieces, but there was no meat on the bones for me, as yvon says. I got an Ansel Adams framed print (maybe repro) & a framed picture of a circuit rider that looks old that i got for $2 each, but havn't looked at them closely yet.
Seeing the Flambé lookalike reminded me of an auction that I went to years ago, when I had not long been a dealer. Myself and another person were bidding on a Doulton Flambé polar bear and I let him have it at about £35.00. A couple of weeks later I saw that he had sold it on Ebay for over £900! Luckily I had bought a few nice things myself that had good profits Love from the UK xx
Oh my goodness!!! George, you were so close to me and I missed meeting you! I live in Owensboro and go to Black Sheep estate sales when I can. Unfortunately work gets in the way more times than I like. Can't wait to watch the next one!
Hi, Lark! I'm sorry we missed each other, but I'll be back to Owensboro. Also hoping to have another sale at my storehouse near Madisonville this fall.
It was such a pleasure to listen to your narrative about the antiques, especially the glassware. You are so knowledgeable! And this house was made for you to share your knowledge. My goodness, the collections were truly awesome!
I wonder if collector plates will circle back and become popular again? I picked up one called The Whaler by Endre Szabo that had its original paper work and even the receipt with it but it turned out to be of little value so I am giving it as a gift for someone who I know will love it. What a treasure trove of interesting items!
George you are so funny. I love your sense of humor. It looked like there were some old toys in the work shop. What are those silly figurines (the world's greatest husband) called. I thought they had a name but I can't remember? Thank you.
@@TheAntiqueNomad Thank you for taking the time to answer I really appreciate it. I tried to find it on line with no success. It was making me crazy. OCD yes!
Hi George! Do you know Scott of the Old Curiosity Shop in Philadelphia? The two of you are not only my mentors, but I am sure mentors to many thousand of us. I would love to see the two of you get together for a few shows. It wouldn’t be a contest as neither one of you strike me as that sort, but rather wonderful shopping trips and a a great exchange of knowledge! I have also suggested this idea to Scott.
Love your videos George! Still makes me wish I could travel like that 🙂 I'm hoping it's not to late for that. Anyway miss you in Florida, your sales are always great. I have a week off work coming up 8-3 , so happy to be off for a week.
@@TheAntiqueNomad me too, I need it especially after a few months ago I slipped and fell down 3 stairs. My leg still hurts, makes me feel like a big baby lol. I hope you have a great day tomorrow and happy treasure hunting !
I sure did! I'm not as up on things that aren't vintage unless I've had them in an estate sale I conducted. I'm glad you showed me something new to seek
My husband and I stayed near Santa Claus a couple years ago and visited Holiday World. Those rides are super hardcore and rough, but the theming was fun. Are those Fenton or Mt. Washington pieces in the estate sale? I thought some of it was Mt Washington...love them anyway!
I didn't see anything I considered old enough to be real Mt. Washington. There's a lot of fakes of their stuff from the 1980s and I believe that's what the non-Fenton pieces were
Hey George! Well, the Goodwills just aren't what they used to be, for sure. We have a small one here, and for its size, they do actually have some really good items, from time to time. The concrete statue was a nice one, and it was a really good price, too. I wouldn't mind having that. There were a few toys in that workshop that caught my interest. Loved the old doorknobs. Those old tractor seats make great stools. Those old tiles were fantastic! Personally, I like the European languages on items like the spice racks, etc.. Loved the custard epergne!!! I would've likely bought the monk tankard. Was it Warwick? I've always wanted a jardiniere and pedestal, but I just don't have a taste for majolica. There was definitely some super-nice things there! Thanks for the take-along!!!
I was happy to think that Goodwill would be okay if you hit it at the right time. I really like concrete (my back likes it less). Tiles make me smile and those were nice! I admit I find the European languages more interesting just because I can learn three new words without thought...but I felt I had to mention it for the benefit of the resellers who might think they're getting more of a bargain than they are. Right about the monk tankard, I've not seen any that style marked otherwise! I agree about having a jardiniere and pedestal. Roseville Futura might do for me!
@@TheAntiqueNomad I am going to have to look out for them then. I recently acquired 2 gorgeous vintage china closets. I bought the one for $250 with delivery and the 1930's one was given to me by a friend. His only child did not want it and neither did his nieces or nephew. They both have wooden wheels which I don't trust to roll so I want to get glass coasters under them.
I usually try to intersperse travel footage because a lot of people in other regions enjoy it...unfortunately, the travel part was all at the beginning.
We have an old milk can with a Pierce seat from I guess a small tractor attached to it somehow. Should I strip it down to the original metals or perhaps creatively paint it? I am not at all artistic so I hope you say no painting and just strip the paint. Is it ok to keep the two attached together….an outdoor stool. No plans to sell it.
I wouldn't strip the paint either, if it's the original! I'd keep it together. Frankly, if you do choose to paint it, it's yours to enjoy as you please. You can certainly restore it later but it won't enhance the value to repaint
Not referring to travel footage: enjoyed that. First time I saw video it had a 2 minute countdown with patterns and numbers ticking down the seconds until -0- . After that the video started with your usual intro. Just re-viewed the start of video, the count-down thing is gone.
You ought not to post a preview. I couldn't tell if I was having deja vu, a flashback to the 60s or an episode of Alsheimer's. I'm old and you are working my last nerve.
I realize the pace of travel was dizzying, it is part of the reality of these shows I attend! I also hadn't realized I'd be back at the estate for a live (albeit with choppy video).
Always entertained and educated.
Thank you so much!
Fabulous loved it.
I really enjoyed and appreciated all your videos thanks you
I'm so glad! I really enjoy sharing all this with you
Wow Wee!!! Man mother load.. 💘 it all Holding my breath to see what you get next week .
It'll be fun! Coming Wednesday
My mom has the gold panther.
It’s great in gold!
Their home was like an antique store....so many goodies.
Well one of the buildings was her Antique shop and storage so that contributed to the huge volume
I drive past Corydon all the time. Don’t think I’ve been to that Antique shop. Been to that Goodwill a lot though. Good scores in the t-shirt section.
I need to look at t shirts more. They’re really at a fever pitch now
wow so cool, can't wait for next video. loved the goodwill music you choose. it was fun and kept me interested as you went along . great video thanks!
Haha! Watching these backwards! Watched this first one from the estate sale last!
Well now you get the picture! It was different every time
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Your videos are always wonderful. Love the history bits also 😉😉😉😉. Excellent Job as Always!!!!
Thank you so much!
Lots of good stuff, glad to see xeno out shopping with you! Hopefully you get tons at deep discount next go round!
Thanks and yes!
Loved the garden concrete decor!
Us too!
Great stuff Georgie!
George did you know HEB the grocery store stands for Howard Edward Butt, and they made it pretty BIG!
Lol! Good to know
Great video as always 💙💜

That's great that you just discovered Fairy Soap! Their logo was great and early. Thanks for coming along
My word, it felt like you were taking us through a large antique market. So many beautiful items. Thank you George.
Very pretty and you'll see more in the next video

Lol in my high school that would've been an invitation
Loved it thanks for sharing
You are so welcome!
There was so much great looking stuff here! I would love to get a jardiniere some day.
I would enjoy a Roseville Futura pedestal and jardiniere
That’s a cool sign, George.
I got a kick out of it
Hello, you are just a wealth of information... I need to go to sleep, but I keep watching~ all .... day..... long! :)
I've never made anyone sleepless before! I'm glad you had fun with this one

You'll see it all!
My GOSH what a house. I was thinking they didn't have any blue, but then bam a whole cabinet. About cried :) Thank you for taking us along.
If it'd been a bit cheaper you'd have watched me buy it all!
Thanks once again for the ‘trip’ and the antiques
I'm glad you could enjoy it with me!
Some Nice Stuff There. What Fun.

It was quite a place! I am doubtful for collector plates because they were made in mass quantities and made to be kept, so not used/broken/lost

Zsolnay from Hungary, porcelain made with Eosin green metallic glaze similar to what Tiffany was doing at the time

Do you tell someone at a sale when/if an item is fake? Curious how you would handle that?
I did tell them the next day, politely and in private
I have been looking for glass furniture coasters but have never seen a green one before. Wonder if that sucker would glow under black light??
