The shirt gets a bit hot around the middle in heavy use, but the shoulders and arms seem to be extremely comfortable for the most part! And the boots are probably one of the best damn investments I've ever made! And I think for a combat shirt, the extra zippers would be good in those areas! Good idea. And everything is probably going to be more baggy than usual, and that's just the nature of BDU outfits - it helps it to not be constrictive and does allow some ventilation that way. But, this is my preferred outdoor wear, no doubt. Hope that helps!

Well, if you were in a situation where you really didn't want to get IR detected, I would say perhaps, but you would need anti-IR covering over your face as well. But that is something to consider! Perhaps an anti-IR vest or plate carrier over these clothes would cover some up as well too. Thanks for the input!
This shirt definitely looks coolest cause the shoulders make you look like a ninja. But turns out the BattleRip version of the ACUs have the water repellant teflon coating on pants and jacket which is nice. Hmm still deciding.........

I have the same emergency knife that you have on your right boot. I have found it more useful on my inside forearm. Attached to 550 cord. Give it a try.

They seem to hold up to the damp pretty well, but I have a pair of BLACKHAWK! tactical pants and they are teflon coated, which is really nice and for khakis they don't pick up any stains.

I play airsoft an wear a kinda heavy combat vest over my camo top. I have an old desert camo BDU that I'd wear under my vest. It wasn't too bad. Is it worth the $70 to get the combat shirt or go with the $45 BDU top?
I think the combat shirt is really nice when you are wearing a rig over it, but it just depends on the level of comfort you want to achieve. A low chest rig won't make a difference, but if you wearing a larger plate carrier it will make a difference. And the pockets on the forearms are cool! Just can't really roll it the sleeves up on the combat shirt. Just weigh your options dude but I like the combat shirt!
+SlySquriel We're seeing a transition abroad with combat shirts being used by first world nations. I wouldn't be surprised if the regular utility top ends up being entirely relegated to garrison wear within the next ten years.

And I did some research - military BDUs are baggy for comfort, air flow, and all-around mobility, if they were too tight they would constrict.

I got the bud cut pant and blouse. They're about half the price of the ACU cut, and work just fine.

What you have there is the ACU cut pants.
