    As some have mentioned, DeWalt has updated this light to have 1000/300 lumens in high/low settings. Though it keeps the same body, features, and model number.

    Been using this light for 3 or 4 years. Pretty handy. Not bright enough to light up a room but it provides good extra light where you need it. Pretty durable. Mine has survived lots of drops and abuse. Quits working in the rain although mine returned to it's duty when it dried. The color of the light is a bit blue - I'd prefer whiter light. I get about 7 or 8 hours battery life on bright setting from a 3 AH battery in warm temperatures.

    I have 2 of these lights. One thing I found pretty quick, you really need the weight of the 3, 4 or 5 Ah battery. With the 1.5 or 2 Ah battery, the flashlight base isn't heavy enough when you pivot the light backwards to point upwards.

      Raymond Flowers good observation, I learned something. All I have so far are 4.0 packs for the dewalt 20v. This light gets lots of use as I use it often

    Love the Dewalt 20v line up. So many nice tools. This light seriously impressed me, super bright, and love the tilting head and hook. Only thing I'd point out is the fact that the light starts off in the "High" mode, which can be slightly annoying in some cases. Overall an awesome light, thanks for the Video!

      It's a fantastic light very bright and very wide lighting area. My Gav feature is the pivoting head, thanks Trevt99

    There are now two versions of this light. This is Type 1 at 500/250 lumens, and Type 2 is 1000/300 lumens. DeWalt doesn't even list Type 2 on its website, but I found one at a local store. You can tell by the packaging, Type 1 comes packaged with the light straight up while Type 2 comes packaged with the light at a 90 degree angle. It's really hard to find this info. I'm pretty sure the retailers don't even realize it, because the model name and price are the same. Anyway, I really like my Type 2.

      do you have a link to this "type 2" model?

    Hey nice review Javier!! Also thanks to Tool Nut for providing the tool to review. I want to say its a really nice Dewalt really had Milwaukee beat when it comes to price on their flashlights. I think Milwaukee will be forced to either come out with a similar unit or drop the price on their current offerings. I'm sure Dan and Eric are also glad for the shoutout too :)

      @ToolCraze  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jason! It's a nice light and great addition to the 20V max line up. Good to see some healthy competition. Eric and Dan are the best

    This is a bad ass light. I have the older 12 and 20v versions. The problem with those lights, is the fact that they're powered by one led, and it has a very concentrated, and bright spot. It's almost blinding. This is a much better, and more useful design.

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Matthew Fant it sure is a great light, fantastic addition to the 20v max lineup

    I always knew your were Crazy, but I can see they are Nutz!
    Great review! One day I make the switch to the 20V line but I have so many 18s that are running strong.
    You are absolutely right, without TIA I would have never known you existed.

      @ToolCraze  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brien Thanks Brien, TIA is great! I didn't know you weren't on the 20v max platform, I assumed you were because you're a huge Dewalt fan. The only XRP tool I have is a 18g nailer, awesome nailer it was bought in 2009 and the battery still works great. I'm waiting for the 20v max nailers

    Javier once again great review!! I to have this light and love it, I ordered it from toolnut! Those guys are awesome , I have dropped this light from about 10ft high doing some bodywork on a semi truck roof at the shop and it still going string , very durable. Thanks Javier for the review and try to stay cool, I'm in riverside and it's supposed to be 103-107 :/

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Z thanks Mike, I remember you were telling me you got it from Toolnut. Wow a ten foot drop and it survived, that's awesome. That's what I love about these brands is they can take abuse. I was working with my sister scraping paint on the eaves of a roof and told my sis not to drop the cordless drill. Ofcourse she dropped it and got scared that it broke but I told her to relax since I knew it wouldn't break. I was only concerned about scratches. It's been bad lately with the heat here in the inland empire, but when isn't it? Good thing for air conditioning. Take care Mike.

    Oh man, I need this in my life! The pivoting head is gold! I can use the light for work or while I work on my hobby toys. Is there anyway to mod an M18 battery to fit this light? So jealous right now.

      SlipperySpandex I wouldn't know how but sure someone out there might know how, I think the hardest part would make them communicate with each other if they have smart features built in

    You should compare it milwaukee's light!

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The dewalt is bigger, brighter wider beam, 2 settings and pivoting head with hook. Milwaukee 12 volt stick light has a smoother light output although not as bright, built in fuel gauge, hook and can face down when hanging and magnet add on.

    I am so glad I waited to get a DeWalt 20v light because this one is a game changer. Great intro also and I would have thrown in a Blair Witch project element to freak us out. AAA plus as always Javier. Good on you to give the shout out to the studs in Chicago too.

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jeremy, a Blair witch element would have been funny. That would have been great and that river/canal at night would be a great setting for something freaky

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good point, I didn't know they updated it. Thanks bro. Though it's not good for DeWalt to update it without changing the model number also as that can cause confusion. TH-cam doesn't allow updating videos, only way to "update" is to make a new video and it just ain't worth it for a light, especially one this old. The best I can do is add a pinned comment noting the updated specs. Thanks again for bringing it to my attention. Hope the video helped out otherwise.
