I think this is mostly useful for a body that has no EVF but only a back screen especially when shooting in harsh sunlight. I don't see a compelling case for a body that already has an EVF, the extra magnification is not worth the massive change in ergonomics IMO.
Sometimes works, if you are not bothered by the increase in size, if you need to check focus on a specific shot (see product and portraits) that is mandatory to be tack sharp. But I see your point obviously👍

My only concern is, wouldnt you collapse the viewer with your eye if you push it too hard?
