the bolt pushed my rotor enough to warp it but it wouldn't come off.. one small tap with the hammer while it was under pressure and it popped right off :)
Dude living in the north east is the worse everything is rust welded, you have to replace parts regularly or spend more money just to properly maintain them, cars go extinct because the frames just rot out
I’m in the process of changing these, but as I’m trying to get my rotor off, it won’t even spin. Should both tires be up off the ground for it to spin, and be easier to come off? I know I’ll have to hammer it off just due to rust. I was going to lift one side of the car at a time but I’m wondering if both sides need to be up.
Bro, if I could give you 1000 subs if I could. 2 days of banging with hammers, half a bottle of pbblaster, heat gun, and blow torches but still wouldn't budge. Frozen on for 20 years. But your 20 second video got it off though! I was happy and mad at the same time lol I was like, really????? 😂😂
@@adamjonkie5601 try PB Blaster but make sure you take out the screws that that new cars are now coming with on the rotors. You will need a drive punch screw driver.
Had one that I pounded on with sledge and finally did this trick, I had to put a ton of torque on it then smacked with sledge, and it took of like a rocket and flew about 10 feet. Don't stand in front.
Mine is beyond that trick kinda stuck. It like fused entirely to the hub and it refuses to let go to the point that my 4lbs sledge hammer broke the entire rotor hot friction edge off but the center piece is still stuck on 😂
This will never top a hammer to the back of the rotor. The only time a hammer around 20 or more oz doesn't work, is if theres factory screws on it or if an unlikely event red loctite or hardware metal adhesive was for some reason installed on the hub.
hammer doesn't always work. This actually worked where a hammer failed. you can't exactly swing a sledge ground level in a cramped wheel well and hit it from the back
@madjackgamingandfitness498 yea true anything seize underneath is extremely difficult to remove without a lift. It also helps to have pb blaster to help loosen.
Did this tonight on my 28 year old Corvette as the rotor wouldn’t come off, worked like a freaking charm!!! Thank you!!!!
Glad it helped 😉✋

Dude wtf is up with the music and the text only staying on screen for 0.2 seconds?
Buddy is a mechanic sharing a tip, not a tiktoker 😂
It’s how he gets high. No problem if u got bolts laying around 🙄
The text disappears before you can read it
just swapped mine today. theyve been on for the entire 7 years ive owned it and they came off with barely my fingertips god i love california
Same here in North Korea
This only works if the brake caliper bolt hole actually lines up with the rotor. Mine did not.
Press F to show respect to rust belt mechanics

Your video was very helpful for me. Thank you very much. That was very smart and genius idea.

This trick is amazing but if I would also recommend a second hex nut right at the end for more surface area
This vid just saved my butt! You are the man!
Thank you, helped me a lot and saved me from smashing that rotary disc with a hammer 🙏🏼
whats the of the bolt and nut
You saved me so much pain 😂😂.. freaking rotors on my Cmax wouldn't budge until now.
Try slowing the readable print down...I'm not a speed reader
feel free to pause the video ;)
I learnt this trick years ago and it works a treat but I will say when they are really stuck and finally pop it’s like a gun has gone off 😂
Just put the wheel bolt back in so that it won't fly off.
Thanks....this saved the day.
Absolutely LOVE this method. ❤. 10/10
Thank you. Worked like a charm.
I am glad it helped. ;)
Thanks bro you saved my life best tip I’ve ever seen keep up the great videos 😎😎
Glad I could help
I have opposite problem . rotor is loose and doesnt fit snug to the axle. suggestions?
Absolutely brilliant, much appreciated
Hope this works I’ve been beating on one for a while and it won’t budge.
Thanks bro, you save my life 🙌🏽

Man thank youuuuu ! Is working so well 😮😮😮😮
Awesome video....
Thanks
It work thanks
Thank you so much
Sledgehammer works even faster lol😂
No success for me with wailing on it unfortunately

This didn't work at all...the bolt dug into my rotor and then the bolt just broke
Didn't work on mine because the caliper bolts would press on the hub, not the rotor
What size bolt
Whatever fits
Dude you are the fucking man thank you for this
Yeah good lick, if you bend or break the bolt hole you will have to buy a new knuckle assembly
You literally just saved my day! Liked and subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!
Lol where did the parking brake disappear?
Part of the caliper on this vehicle

Did this and the bolt broke
This jus piss me off
That's what that threaded hole on your rotor is for.
Mine still stuck
Problem if you took everything off and don't have a spare nut and bolt 😅
So fuck this guys editing skills am i right 😂😮💨

Ppl need to use anti seize 😂
Hammer🤌
easy japanese
That music is irritating AF - DISLIKED
I Perfer percussive persuasion but that’s just me
It's called a hammer. Give it a couple oonga boongas
Soak it, hit it. Repeat.
Your don’t understand what stuck means 😂😂😂 try pounding with a 10lb maul for hours that won’t work if it’s truly stuck
Bra so long pointless
It’s called a brake disc not a rotor
A hammer works faster
Tried with hammer, no luck after 20+ hits :D use a screw in caliper hole and got success in 10 secs :D
You need a bigger purse to knock off a rotor that rusted. Try a 4lb sledge. Also if your rotor looks like that, just replace it.

What size bolt
any size which fits through that hole
