Really enjoyed the review. Wish you had the assembly sequence, too. I don't have this cab, yet. Just have the other two older versions for now. Knowing the multiplayer games are online compatible, I'll likely start saving for this one. At the moment, I've just gotten the Class of 81, and am working towards Pac-Man Deluxe cab, as well. Thanks for the video! :)

The 2 cabinets I want the most is that Golden Axe II cabinet you got there, and a Mortal Kombat II Deluxe cabinet that also plays Mortal Kombat 9. I know it existed back in 2011 for publicity. (sort of)
The Golden Axe is great because it has Revenge of Death Adder and that was one of my favorites as a kid. I highly recommend getting the Arcade1up Golden Axe.

For Wizard of Wor, that was how the original arcade was. 1 player played from the right side controls.

I customized some wood pallets to put all of my Arcade1up's on. I'm 6'2 so I had to do something lol.

Im really liking this cabinet. This is the 3rd MK cabinet ive had so far and this is definitely the best. And for some reason wizard of wor one player is always on the right. Thats just the way they did it for some reason. I didnt know that either haha.
Yeah, it's such a great cab! I'm really glad I got it to upgrade from the Rampage I had.

Nice 👍i just picked up a mk2 arcade one yesterday on sale with 14 games including rampage . Almost done assembling . Hopefully i don't run into any hiccups at the end.🤞😁

@@HungrywolfGarou Yeah don't have much room for cabinets maybe 2 at the most but mk was at the top of my list aside from X-Men. I got cabinet for 249 so I could not pass up the deal . X-Men if it's at a really good price in the future...🤔
I still really want X-men as well. Holding out hope they do a Deluxe or XL version

Great video. There was a weird bug that didn’t allow for crossplay that was fixed so there should be more online players. I am terrible at mortal Kombat but I do have fun.

Rampage is my all time favorite

Damn, that screen looks so crisp and clear. I own the first wave version and I modded it with led buttons, 6 lb springs, custom MK dragon logo dust covers, blood red crystal joysticks, etc. Still loving it. Does the deluxe version come with a light up marquee? Great review btw!!
Yeah, the marquee lights up and looks great. One of their better light up marquees. Glad you liked the review!
Btw..I like the version “Super Defender” ❤as I remembered playing years ago as that particular version came with Smart Bombs button (when world blows up as then aliens launch full scale devastation Assault) ..lol
That's cool. I don't think I've played it.
Did they fix the audio in this? In older versions the music sounded off, and that high pitched sound that plays at the title screen and before 2 player matches in MK1 had louder drum beats. In MAME you can adjust the individual sound channels to make the drums softer but you can’t as far as I know on a 1up. I bought it but didn’t build it or test it yet. I like to test the games before I build the cabinet to make sure it works.
I don't know what the audio was like before, but there isn't an option like the MAME one you are describing. Everything sounds good on the cabinet to me, so far

If you are going for an arcade1up, generally the price range will be $300-400, with some cheaper than that if you get something used.

And is it true that 30 anniversary uses a bad cheaper screen ( as many complaints very washed out look images ) as Delux still uses something like BOE version screen ?
Pls. Explain to me both console versions both have Wifi and are same price ? Thx
@knightranger11 I prefer the no riser loom. I never had the 30th anniversary, so I can't comment on the screen quality. I do know the Deluxe monitor is good and has online and the same games.

I guess only MK2 has 14 different types of varieties games as then not too boring and can play on line Wifi against others player ?
And Eg..Marvel Superheroes and Street Fighters or say something like Yoga/Capson Console games are all basically the same 12-14 games as always One on One ( face to face ) punch/kick combats ( as no space ships or Hunting games etc ) right ? Thx
@knightranger11 Online there are 4 fighting games (MK, MK2, MK3, UMK3), Rampage, Gauntlet, Joust, Toobin, Wizard of Wor, and Klax, so a lot of variety. All the games have online leaderboards, I think. Most of the online games are just 2 players, but Gauntlet is 4 players online and Rampage is 3.
Ok question: my local BestBuy had thia built on display to try. I found the graphics very pixelated. However watching your video, the sprites and graphics look just as clean as it did in the arcade at the time. Is there a setting you did?
No, I didn't have scanlines on for anything. Not sure what the issue might be with the display. It is the Deluxe and not the one from last year, right?
To me arcade machines are making a comeback! . shit I wish they where still around very very rare places still are around just wish they’re was more of them

I would like to run an arcade myself, bathed in 80s/90s vibes. But in my (small) country, arcades didn't really exist, except by the sea. My arcade experiences come from the lunaparks at traveling carnivals.
However, with the current energy prices (in our country anyway), I don't think operating something like this will be profitable. Who is really going to want to pay per game, while gaming is available from the comfort of your own home for next to nothing?
I understand the thought. People preferring to play at home is why the arcade scene mostly died out.
Great review! I purchased the MK2 deluxe cab because of it.
I have question though: does your monitor display any weird dithering throughout the entire screen? My MK2 deluxe's screen looks really pixelated, even in the game selection menu. I don't have this issue with my Shinku Hadoken cabinet.
I haven't noticed any, but I'll give it a look when I get home from work.

I posted pictures of the dithering on the Arcade1up subreddit yesterday, and comparing them to yours, i dont notice the pixilation on your screen in the short you posted... I contacted the Arcade1up support and they don't seem to think the dithering is much of an issue 😅 Thank you for taking the time to check for me, though!

I just got the anniversary 35th Capcom one with 14 games I really like it I have the first street fighter also and a.ino pacman I am gonna sale the street fight or try to at least but the newer ones are better love the fake quarters slots

Super Saturday at Putt Putt 1993... MK2 surrounded by 20 kids... I'm there.
Super Saturday was always great! I still go to Putt Putt here, but I haven't gone to Super Saturday since 2012/2013. I need to do that sometime.
@@HungrywolfGarou If we could go back and put our Putt Putt token up on that screen to get in line for an MK match just one more time... But I guess these cabs are close enough and we should be thankful for them and the online play. I actually don't have one yet but am about to get one, that's how I found your video. So cheers!
@Overfohd Hope you enjoy the cab if you get one. I love it and it's such a nice addition to my place. I just wish I was better at Mortal Kombat, but I'm good at some of the other games on there.
@@HungrywolfGarou Yeah I saw your MK play, you're nothing. Just kidding of course! Seriously I'm just messing around. But it was so nice back in the day when that stuff was face-to-face. It was so satisfying when you could talk trash but you had to actually back it up because the other person was right there!!! Is it just my cabinet, or are the discs underneath the joysticks really loose? You can spin them with your finger much more loosely than those of the standard cabinet.
I haven't had that issue with mine.

Do you notice lag in the MK3 versions or any games? I hear it’s still a problem?
I don't notice any lag in offline MK3, but I haven't played either of them online. I also heard it's a problem still. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Looks good. Curious if the controls are much better than the originals? I could always just press down and then release the controller to let it spring up on its own to make Raiden teleport on the real arcades back in the day. Really missed that on the first gen A1up because the sticks and buttons are pretty cheap.

The sticks are better, but the buttons are the same. I'll try to test that out.

@@HungrywolfGarou awwww shoot! Thanks for checking it out for me anyway😜👍 I actually have a first edition A1up Mortal Kombat 2 and replaced the springs in my sticks to 4lb. I can get it to work about 20% of the time.
Are those 1uo arcade cabinets have real coin slots ? If it is it brings back memories of playing on real vintage arcade cabinets
The old models have none, but newer models have fake coin doors. They are just for looks.

Never a fan of Mortal Kombat - a few years after my Arcade prime. Good Review of the cabinet. I would buy a Defender version.
Thank you. I actually play the Mortal Kombat games the least on this cabinet. Joust is probably my favorite game on it.
@@HungrywolfGarou I did own the previous Defender, and had a Williams branded marquee that I never installed. I played Paper Boy 90% of the time. Put on ball-tops which worked well for that and Defender. A lot of reviewers hate on Paper Boy on these, and I always shake my head in protest of their misplaced disrespect.

Do u recommend that I connect this the cab to the Ethernet ?.
An ethernet connection will always be best, I think, but I've never hooked any of my cabs to ethernet. My wifi seems to do just fine.

Do The Speakers Sound Good In Person
The speakers on MK Deluxe sound good. I would say they are an improvement over past generation cabinets, if you've heard those.

I don't play with scanlines often, even when I have the option. I might play around with those settings.
I feel like none of these guy’s doing these reviews actually know how to play mortal Kombat. Lol.. I get that you’re trying to show everything but I want to hear from somebody who likes playing this game tell me what they think.
I like playing several games on the cab, it just happens that MK is the marquee title. If you want more in depth looks at each game individually on the cabinet, though, I can bring it in future videos.

Thank you for your constructive criticism, but I bought the cab more for the non-MK games. When I decide to get serious about MK I'll start studying some characters. This was just a review.

I'm not a great MK player, admittedly. I like MK, but I'm more into the other Midway games on the cab.
