We are hoping to move to kingston next May to purchase a condo. Leaving Toronto for a new beginning. Visited Kingston and really loved it. Just concerned about Doctor shortage as it was mentioned in the comment section. Great video though! Thanks.

There is a six YEAR waitlist to get a family doctor here. There are lots of walk-in clinics though and if I were you I would keep my doctors in Toronto. That said, you will NOT regret living here. The quality of life is amazing. Additionally, if you are worried about the cultural aspects, because of Queens Kingston gets a lot of arts, entertainment, film festivals etc that other cities this size do not get. You may get a sticker shock on property taxes, they are much higher here than in Toronto. A lot of that is because of the upkeep to all the historical buildings being off loaded to the city and the fact that Queens buys up a lot of high value property and does. not pay taxes so the rest of us take up the slack in this historic city. We love it here and I have lived in Toronto and Ottawa. I've been here 4 decades now though so my experience with Toronto is a long time ago. Did not enjoy the stress there.

@@rca6576 Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experiences living in Kingston. I really appreciate it!! I've lived in Toronto for 25 years now, I was born and raised in Vancouver but came to Toronto for University and stayed here. I'm 55 and my husband is 68 and we have a daughter who just graduated college and we are hoping to move to Kingston to start a new adventure. We also want to give our daughter a chance to one day own her own place and that is impossible in Toronto now. We visited Kingston and really fell in love with the atmosphere, people, scenery,...We are at that point in our lives that we really need a change and our daughter a new adventure. Yes, the doctor situation in Kingston concerns me, especially as we are getting older. I can easily go to Walk in Clinics but obviously would prefer a regular doctor like most people. Yes, I did notice that property taxes are high in Kingston but housing prices are so much better than Toronto. My husband is already retired and I work from home so it's just our daughter that will be entering the work force in Kingston. We actually checked out Brockville as well but really have our hearts set on Kingston. Again thanks for all your input..enjoy the rest of your day.

that’s too bad! I guess it depends on what activities interest you the most. I always felt like there was lots for me to do here.
