  • Hey y'all and welcome to Sewspire!
    Today I am here with our final sewing tutorial for 2017 in which I will show you how to make a wristlet key fob.
    When I owned my brick and mortar boutique this style of key fob was one of my very best sellers. Everyone loves these and therefore they are the ultimate gift!
    To make one fob you will need a piece of quilt weight cotton fabric that measures 4" x 12" and a like size piece of iron on Pellon interfacing. Plus, the key fob hardware set which you can find for sale at Joanne.com
    www.joann.com/k...
    I hope you enjoy the project and all of your handmade holiday gifts are well received! I will be back next week with a round up video to closeout our year as well as to provide more details about my vision for the channel in 2018.
    Until then, please know the creative genius in me, celebrates the creative genius in you!
    XO,
    Andrea

    I love these Andrea. I made some of these last summer for gifts. I did quilt down the entire strip before attaching the hardware on some of them. This gave some a different look. These make awesome gifts and I like your idea of attaching a gift card. Will be doing that for some of my gift cards! Thanks for the great idea. I have enjoyed these quick gift projects. Thanks for all you do!

    Hi Andrea. Thank you so much for all of your videos, they are so much fun!! I made the Crossbody Messenger Tote Bag a couple of months ago out of some left over camo material I had. I added a couple of inside and one outside pocket. It has turned out to be my favorite go to bag! I was wondering if you could tell me what the pliers are that you used to attach the hardware on these. I can't seem to find them. Thanks and I look forward to more of your videos next year!!!

    • @Sewspire
      @Sewspire  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may be that your material is not thick enough for the prongs to get a good "bite". Try a thicker interfacing.

    Can the key fob hardware be applied without the pliers

    • @Sewspire
      @Sewspire  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not what you might expect; but, the easiest way I found to apply it without pliers is to step on it with my shoe. Obviously put some paper between your shoe, the fabric and the floor to avoid dirtying the material.
