Not swinging at the 2 cost ko is very questionable to me from the doffy player. He basically lost every body of 4 cost he plays out. Welp he also missed leader eff 2 turns in a row so that doesn’t help either.
BB is that deck you let starve while you amass your resources and dont stop them from killing your board too much. It wont take long for them to be so hurt on hand from the constant discards it easily kills fast.
@atrocioustcg planning on using a red removal build with the PRB Sanji leader with a mix of on plays and when attacking to keep the BB players off balance on when to use leader effect and when not too.
like what I said, when you play against BB, You dont swing life, just starved him and go for boards. Swinging life is just making him extra draw cards from life to trash for his leader effects.
BB plays are very tight since they don't want to lose too much hand size every turn. There is one other card draw from BB Pirates and that's the kid Teach but unfortunately it slows down BB too much to fit.
yeah a lot of the games seem like their decently close, and even in this one if the Doffy hit his leader effects it would probably have been closer than we think
I don't know why people just leave the Doc Q and such on board to cause further damage... Granted, Doffy had some poor leader eff top decks luck, but just going face just made his problems worse
@ yeah, I did mention in the Nami match how I don’t know long they’ve been playing there so part of it could be due to mental fatigue But I guess you gotta prepare yourself to be able to be in condition to top such a tournament
The doffy player really played poorly. Just had the go face mind set instead of trying to clear the board some and starve the BB out. Hard to negate your on plays when you dont have any cards to trash for it.
In the last couple Blackbeard videos, I’ve had several people tell me that the gameplan is actually to go face. I haven’t tested the matchup, but maybe that’s just the best way
@atrocioustcg i dont see how going face works when each turn you are losing the body you play down to a 2 drop. If they didn't have those pieces sure makes sense but if it's there deal with it because giving them cards is just going to make you lose faster to me.
Well with a starting hand like he did, your odds of winning are prob just naturally higher from that alone. But I think it’s like every other deck of knowing matchups & combo plays that benefit you the most
@@atrocioustcg that is understandable. I just think about how Black beard has a negative resource loop and squishy characters. Also the black beard 10 drop being sort of a joke where if you arent already winning dropping it on curve will actually hinder you. On paper it doesnt make sense to me.
The black beard player using doffy dons to show how many doffy players he annihilated 😂
I WAS HOPING SOMEONE WOULD MENTION THIS
That’s diabolical I realized that afterwards but thought it was a coincidence 😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣

Yeah I think it was just a tumble that got worse and worse as time went on :/
its a lose-lose situation, he hit the Doc Ock meaning he loses 1 attack to the leader and BB draws 1 extra card
This what you called ready for the match up it’s clear his team did a lot of testing for this match up very well precision execution
Exactly!!! This is why matchup knowledge is so important. I think he knew exactly what he needed to do at all times
People will mention not killing the Doc Q which of course wasn't a great idea, but him whiffing off the top 2 times was also really unfortunate
Yeah that was honestly a big salt to the wound, that's two less bodies you got in that match :/
Unfortunate but also didn’t set it up so not killing the doc q is really bad

I can’t wait until we get the set in the west so then I can practice against it

I’m really loving these Blackbeard matchups. Another great commentary!
Thank you!!! I feel like my Blackbeard commentary has had a general upward trend since we first saw it 🤩
ALSO WOAH THANKS FOR BECOMING A RIFFLE SHUFFLER 👏👏👏
dang bro atro rlly makes the best optcg content on all of yt

Great casting Atoricious, would be cool to watch you doing LIVE casting the duels during the tournament too!
I would love to live cast the battles, but they always start at like 1am for me & I work 8am everyday :/
Pronunciation on point! 10/10
I’ve prayed for times like this
@@atrocioustcgpraying helps, but hard work is the only thing that actually gets you somewhere. Keep it up!
@ ok sick because I only pray for good topdecks LOL

Yeah that tidbit is super apparent in this game. I would honestly love to watch 100 games of the MU to see it in full-scale

He could have simply played the other sengoku from his hand to attack docq and probably it would be a very effettive play
Yeah, it was interesting to notice that his game plan didn’t really ever involve clearing the board
I don't know why people just leave the Doc Q and such on board to cause further damage...
Granted, Doffy had some poor leader eff top decks luck, but just going face just made his problems worse
I wonder if just the mental fatigue of making it that far & then facing an abysmal matchup just got him in the end
@ yeah, I did mention in the Nami match how I don’t know long they’ve been playing there so part of it could be due to mental fatigue

Damn, I play doffy and situations like this are the reason I have 3 gravity rage and 2 gum-gum res roc
Dang heavy count, I gotta test that

@@hooliganXxero0 That's kinda where I'm at too. I need testing
@atrocioustcg i do as well. Gonna either do some tonight or this weekend but the sim just doesn't give me hands I can ever play lol
First!
👏
I’ve been watching these games and it’s so hard to comprehend the Black Beard gameplan. It’s hard to believe that it isn’t just luck lol

finals? so one sided.
I know it’s kinda crazy. I think the most lopsided finals we’ve had on the channel
No Enel? Is it really worth commentating on 😢
This match really was wild tho tbh super interesting
@atrocioustcg probably one of the best matches showing how suppressive teach is
